The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

And because I'm not mailing it. If I'm just giving the digital information I figure that it's worth quite a bit less. Plus I just need a fast few bitcoin and I've had this gift card sitting around.
