My journey was very fun, I remember that I spent hours in the faucets, it was something that I did not tired, but after they started to reduce the satoshi I stopped using faucet and made a decision, I sold many of my things and started to buy bitcoin, I used many exchange and paid high fees and even with all these difficulties I did not give up buying bitcoin. From what I realized the business of faucet was no longer very profitable for owners of faucets

I cant really deny that these is one of the reasons why i do engage into cryptocurrencies. When my friend told be about bitcoin but only on few things and i decide to search up and end up on collecting satoshis from faucets.
I do have work back into those days which i do only allocate my vacant time on collecting which is really an unforgettable moment yet these basic things do able to teach me simple steps like withdraw or inputting my address and later on i do find out this forum which do open a wide space for money making opportunity and i do leave faucet after i realize im really wasting my time with it but somehow im grateful.

I will truly never understand how someone winds up with that little respect for their own time to believe faucets are worthwhile.

It obviously made sense when Gavin Andresen was giving away 5 BTC a time. Not so much now. You may get lucky with an alt faucet if the alt explodes. That's about it.

When I started to be interested in cryptocurrency few years ago, faucets were the logical choice to start collecting some free coins. Even then most of people say it is just a waste of time, but with that "waste of time" I earned my first BTC. This was the time when with little effort you can made 500 000 satoshi per day with some help of referrals, for 1-2 hours daily I think it was not wasted time.

It is true that today rewards on faucets are low, but this is still a good way for newbies to get acquainted with the way in which crypto work, with wallets/transactions/security etc... Also 1$ is ridiculously small amount for someone who lives in UK, USA or Japan, but let's just take an example of Venezuela where a monthly salary is less then 10$, or some other poor country - I know people who live better even with few extra $ earned from faucets.

A bit different if you're starving in a far off land but there's still more money to be made online elsewhere no matter where or who you are.

I really do think that now the best way to think of the purpose of faucets is education. It is one of the only ways newbies can practice using crypto without taking any risk. I don't regret my time using faucets back in the day. looking back it gave me confidence to dive deeper into the crypto world.

I would have to agree. Even for people who are starving, what you get from faucets are just too meager. You would rather spend your time and effort on other productive means to earn money plus having internet also takes up some cost, not to mention expense on electricity. Admittedly, I have stumbled upon faucets a few years back as well but eventually gave up when I realized that I’m not getting anywhere with it.

What’s interesting about some other faucets is the gambling games available in some of the sites where you could play with the satoshis you get every hour or so. I guess for someone who’s engaged in gambling but don’t have money to spare could find that as entertaining and cost free.

I realize that you look at it from a completely different angle and as you say "I will truly never understand how someone winds up with that little respect for their own time to believe faucets are worthwhile. " But I assume you are from UK, and most of people from UK, USA, Canada and some other good living countries share your thoughts regarding faucets. People from Russia, Ukraina, Venezuela, Nigeria, Philippines and many others countries can not sell some old game or drink less coffees/it is about how to survive from month to month.

Even if I do what you suggest and save some time, do you think using that time to watching TV or playing video games makes more sense then claiming on faucets? Some people on this forum consider signature campaigns as waste of time also, why you doing this and not find some work in real life, or why not you sell something and spend your time better?

Yep. At least it's fun and engaging.

As for sig campaigns, I'd be here anyway as I'm learning and interacting. Campaigns are a bonus. And if some had invested in making a quality account here they could be signed up for a sig campaign and be making 50-200x more per week than faucets with much less time consumed.

Everyone's free to do what they want of course, but time is the only currency with true value and I've always been astounded how many people are willing to throw it away. No matter where you are in the world, if you have internet access there are better options for generating money than faucets.

The people who work smart, not hard, are the ones who get ahead.

Faucets were attractive (still attractive?) because everyone can click, there's no skill needed, only time. For all the other methods of earning online you need to have some skills like translating or programming or writing, and not everyone can do that. Those markets also can be so competitive at entry levels that the payment is not much higher than the faucets.

And if some had invested in making a quality account here they could be signed up for a sig campaign and be making 50-200x more per week than faucets with much less time consumed.

I wouldn't advice anyone to try becoming signature campaign poster from scratch, it would take really long time and a lot of effort to earn those 250 merit points, and even then they aren't guaranteed to join a high-paying campaign. It's better to just learn programming or design and earn money by freelancing or find a job, and those things have better future than signature campaigns.

I came to this place when everyone said faucet is wasting time like a faucet so dirty that the flow of water doesn't flow perfectly. However, to prove this matters, I tried hard to get bitcoin with a faucet and blamed the person who spoke wasting time.

For months I collected bitcoins but the number never reached the withdrawal limit that was determined, and finally, I got angry and justified people who spoke wasting time. But at least I have proven that it is true and did not try for the umpteenth time, and at that time I focused on finding airdrops that gave tokens simply.

It is indeed too late now to develop a wonderful account here unless you're exceptional, which almost all aren't.

I just think people are doing themselves a disservice believing faucets are a legitimate way of getting anywhere. Dick around if it makes you happy but in the time it would take you to earn $250 worth of BTC you could've picked up a skill that would earn you that per day or week no matter where you live for the rest of your days.

That $250 would probably add up to hundreds of hours of effort.
