Currently there are no 'blockchain orientated' degrees (as far as i know). But to be honestly, that is not necessary.

A good bachelor/master in IT (or any other subject heavily related to IT) will be enough to start diving into 'blockchain' and to be accepted/respected in this area.

It mostly depends on what exactly you want to do which is related to blockchain. But in most cases programming and the basic understanding of IT systems is enough.

What you're looking for is something computer science related. So look for degrees with courses in Programming/Coding, Cryptography, Distrusted computing. On the business end, finance and accounting might be helpful. I've heard some universities in America have 6-11 week courses specifically tailored to Blockchain technology.

Here are some links I found surrounding your question, and you might want to check this book out. Amazon lets you sample the book which is great:

The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) knows this, and that’s why it will offer the country’s first-ever Blockchain degree this coming March. One of the university’s main reasons is to educate the country’s next generation of entrepreneurs.

Ditto above. Crypto is cool & awesome today - but hard telling what will be the next big thing.  Think ahead for the next 20-30 years, not the next 2 years.  Get a degree in the underlying tools & concepts under IT and cryptography.   Make sure to take a Data Structures class - probably & most useful best class I ever took.

I have long held that 6 months of real-world employment is worth more than a 4 year degree.  There's far too many people that have parked in college, think they are awesome, but are totally useless at doing anything but taking classes.  You're better off getting out there and doing the job, and taking classes on the side - IMHO.

Getting something to prove your skills with crypto is still in its infancy. There's this cert, but not sure how widely recognized it is:
https://cryptoconsortium.org/certifications/CBP

If you want a good free textbook, the all of "Mastering Bitcoin" is online - best deep dive I have found yet.

I personally researching for this. All the answers /research led me to believe that "University of Nicosia" should be good choice if you are looking for university degree.

https://digitalcurrency.unic.ac.cy/about-the-program/degree-overview/

PS: I did not enrolled in it as I am not looking for blockchain degree from University. Feel free to visit the below topic too, might be it can be helpful for ypu.

Cryptograhy is the closest but if you are into programming try this one in udemy https://www.udemy.com/ethereum-and-solidity-the-complete-developers-guide/

I find it really good when you try learning blockchain and ETH smart contract. The guy is a native English speaker which wouldn't be hard for you compare to other blockchain tutorials.

Who is the target audience?
Programmers looking to leverage blockchain technology for advanced apps
Engineers who want to understand Ethereum and how to build apps with it

Hey FlavorCountry,

The best degree programs and education systems depend heavily on what you want your blockchain to do. If you are looking to create an innovative new algorithm for a pure currency use-case then an advanced degree in Computer Science or Cyber Security will provide an excellent foundation for your entrance into the cryptosphere. If you are interested in a more unique use-case then a degree associated with that use-case will likely more helpful. The best way to learn about developing a cryptocurrency is to look at the existing algorithms and blockchain technology because, while a background in computer science and cyber secruity will definitely be helpful, cryptocurrency is a fairly unique technology.

Best,

MIT has a 6 week Blockchain course online but it doesn’t look very intense. I’ve take their Big Data and Cybersecurity courses and they were pretty good but didn’t try this one.

Well there are many courses that you can find online on the Blockchain Council, Udacity etc.. that can help you gain knowledge in the Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. I have seen that there are many number of courses on the Blockchain Council related to trading as well as developing and they also provide a Certificate for that.

P.S :If you are looking for a job in this space then it's actually not completely necessary for a person to have a degree in Blockchain or Cryptocurrency related job. Any degree in Computer Science can get you a job in this space.

If either they are looking for a job or they have already a job/business of their own that they want to tokenized on blockchain. There are already platform for this which they can even create tokens in less than a day but perhaps they want to learn more how it all works and probably not just blockchian but smart contracts as well. Germany is one of the country that is now gradually adopting crypto.

It would be greet if Bitfury had blockchain courses but as far as I know they don't offer it, on another hand this company is really great and tries it's best to develop blockchain technologies. Dont' know what's happening in Germany but in Georgia there is a blockchain academy (it's members are lecturers and IT specialists) where there are some lectures and as far as I know they give you certificate after you finish course.
