Not long before did I considered internet to be the major and inseparable thing when it comes to cryptocurrencies mainly Bitcoins.
But little did I knew about the idea of Kryptoradio.
This was given but the commercial phase wasn't too good.
Here you can send and do transactions over a Radio ' , without any internet without nothing and even without giving off your identity.
During war time , or some government arrest it could prove to be extremely useful.
For that you need some prior preparation though, things like 40m 7Mhz anteena and the JS8 call application.
Get ready to find the signal just like in those zombie movies and then if your government allows and it's legal to operate a Ham radio you are good to go .
It's not convenient but it is taking a step to help during the time of worst case scenario.

Lol. This is something that will never happen. Newbies are finding the current cryptocurrency trading system complicated which is why your idea takes it a step further and over-complicate things here.

The idea is funny though, but don't expect it to become a reality anytime in the future.

7Mhz for which you are supposed to have a license for... How exactly is that going to help in a "worst case scenario"? We have far bigger chances using a p2p mesh on unregulated 2.4ghz, aka wifi.

and then all someone needs to do is use a ham radio with an amp.. and just send out a 'whiteout' signal to block transmissions......

I did not understand the meaning of this idea either. Moreover, I did not understand how it would be possible to integrate a blockchain there and why it is needed here at all. Besides, if you are guided by your fears about war, arrest, etc. then I have to disappoint you. During the war, radio interference with the help of special devices will be strongly applied and the radio will most likely not work at all. About the prison, I generally keep quiet. There, no one will let you use the radio. In general, I find this idea useless and do not understand its meaning and do not see any benefit to it in society.

You have broadened my imagination through that scenario. Kryptoradio is possible and it would be a big help in case we lose our internet connection but it isn't convenient and distance would be a problem in each transaction. However, we could also consider it as a part of bitcoin's technology development.

I find radio as a medium obsolete. People still listen to it while driving a car sometimes, but I don't think this will last long, and this is not the kind of use you're talking about. As for unfortunate events and radio signal becoming important - yeah, it's probably true. But how likely is such an event? Moreover, how likely is it that in that case people would still care about cryptocurrencies rather than simply surviving and stuff?
Sending transactions over radio signal sounds like a very paranoid thing to do. Apart from that, radio signal can be jammed, and if there's money at stake, I would not risk using it.

I feel that this idea is fictional
It is very difficult to use the radio so easily, in some countries is a threat to national security
But in general I like the minds that are constantly looking

It is a great idea. In using radio I think major people who doesn't active in internet or in a social media will easily meet and understand about bitcoin because all we know that in a rural area most of them are still using radio to become updated to the current news. I didn't know about that, but it's nice that we have different option to send bitcoin.
Thus far, the internet is the most reliable because we can see the record in the blockchian, both parties can verify and that makes it more transparent.

You do not understand what is being discussed here obviously, it is not about "radio" as media where you can listen to something that you usually do through your phone or traditional radio. It is about using radio as a way to send bitcoin transactions. In simple, the idea is to make an optional way to send bitcoin through the radio waves.
It is basically great but a bit crazy idea, I cant even imagine how it will work.

With a little searching on Google, I found http://cryptoradio.io/ and https://www.crypto24radio.com/ on the first page. I see that on that site, they report every interview with the top thinkers and entrepreneurs.

But on the other website https://kryptoradio.koodilehto.fi/, that is a project which is ended in December 2014, but there is no update until now (or I miss something). You can read more information on their website. Besides that, they have a Github page on https://github.com/koodilehto/kryptoradio, and I see they have an open source for the code.
There are more website talks about kryptoradio or crypto radio, and you can find it on Google

I think it is already phased out. will it not be more complicated if radio is to be used instead of internet in making transactions? What about the security? Wireless communication can hardly be characterised as ‘phased out’.

The Internet is a system of interconnected networks. The Internet as a whole doesn’t care whether a given part thereof runs on copper, fibre, wireless or avian. That’s why we have the lower layers of the OSI model.

And security is built into the blockchain, although I’ll admit that wireless links are in some aspects more (although, on the other hand, in some aspects less) vulnerable to e.g. denial-of-service attacks than fixed networks.

It seems that you also misunderstand what is being discussed here as I have answered to someone else previously. Those two sites are podcast radio where you can hear some information about bitcoin/crypto related thing.
