I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for a few years. Only those who have been through the bear market in 2013 will know from the bottom of their hearts that a rebound can take time. I wouldn't call you a holder because you have kept your bitcoins for 8 months. You need to be a lot more patient. You have seen nothing so far.

instead of the bearmarket to dissappear you will get a dissolution of the us dollar, and then you have several hundred million of extremely volatile markets

8 months seem to be not long for crypto long term investment. I'm into crypto for almost 10 months. 2-3 months ago I was obsessed with prices, ups and downs, constantly reading predictions, making my own predictions, etc)) that was really crazy time)) now I'm in the phase of peace and contemplation))) We want everything at once, but this can't be. My advice is to wait patiently and accumulate your experience to develop your own strategy which will suit you best of all.

We don't know on how long we have to wait until we sees it goes to the top. If you are still calm at this moment, you can buy more.

Because the market is unpredictable, we cannot just spit a time where it will definitely end because as we all know in the past months some speculations that didn't actually happen. If you believe that the struggle of bitcoin will end, you should just keep it up but don't expect too much on some ideas that it will happen at stated time by the other people.

the bear market technically ended a couple of months ago.
just because we don't see wild rises like last year, specially near the end, it doesn't mean we are in a bear market. this has been a transition phase for some time now. we have had good signs of the phase coming to an end and entering the bull mode but that didn't last and we stayed in this phase. and possibly will be here with sideways movement for a while.

We are now at 7 consecutive bear days which has not occurred at all this year and probably not for a few years. Watching $6800 area closely as that is where we should see support based on it serving as strong resistance previously.

I think if etf accepts bitcoin the market will return to green and I'm sure all altcoins will also rise as in the early 2018

I keep going back to the possibility that these drops that we see these days in bitcoin are caused mainly by the over-pumped altcoins that have been getting dumped for a while now. that is a lot of money that has been exiting the market and most of it is exiting through bitcoin and that can effectively bring its price down.
we have had clear example of it too. for example when Bancor was hacked and millions of dollars worth of Ether was stolen the dump of ETH brought bitcoin price down with it.
in this case the drops will end when altcoin dumps are over.

If you really are a btc believer, then you are a hodler. No one really knows when will the bearish market be over and the time for the bull market to take place next. I guess the best thing for now that we should do is just to stay cool and just wait for the time being until btc will recover. Rest assured, btc will make a pump soon where everyone is also expecting for it to happen.

No one knows that mate. And no one will be able to predict anything like that so easily. I mean there are technical analysis which predicted that year 2018 will bring price above 20K USD per bitcoin but nothing like happened and over that bitcoin started going down all the time. I think we know very well this market will recover when it has to recover and when lots of people are going to put their money at stake with the bitcoin.

There are so many ups and downs in the current market and we are seeng this since start of the year. Unless and until the market doesnt get condensed with huge investment, it is going no where.

It's really difficult to say as this year has been one of the most difficult year for bitcoins so there's no guarantee that we'll see a bounce, but I'm optimistic that bitcoins has always shot up during end periods of the year so let's hope it does go up, then again CBOE etf is coming and once that is accepted we'll go to mars for sure that's only few months away so hodl on.
