Undoubtedly, everyone knows the name of Nokia, and, with its words, quality and performance are brought into the minds of individuals. Nokia was one of the first mobile phone companies in the world. In 1998, Nokia was able to rely on the royal palace of the mobile phone companies, and the largest share of mobile phone sales. But with the advent of Apple's phones and Android phones, the share of Nokia has fallen sharply so that they were eventually bought by Microsoft in 2013.
In my opinion, Bitcoin has a way that Nokia. Bitcoin technology is old compared to other Altcoin. Bitcoin was the first, but perhaps not the best.

the difference is that Apple and Android has been good products instead of being pure shit. bitcoin was NOT the first but it is the BEST among the existing cryptocurrencies. it may not be the best thing you can hope for because it is not perfect but nothing is ever perfect in the world. calling bitcoin technology "old" is like calling a 3 month old infant an "old timer".  |

Bitcoin will not lose and will continue to reign for many years. In the world of cryptocurrency investors are the responsible for the existence of the coin. So as long as there will be many investors to come in there would be no end of bitcoin. Technology wise can be improve by upgrading system performance, let the great minds do their works.

Wait til blockchain adoption matures because that's when you'll see how bitcoin will sweep the shitcoins. Those coins that has no use but just store of value will probably be dead and most that will live on will be the ones that has sole purpose the utility tokens. BIockchain is just a decade, we haven't see the biggest explosion yet.

If you are here in this forum for quite sometime, then I would say that you are most likely very much familiar with bitcoin than the newcomers in this community. Certainly, I believe that btc will not lose it's market share in the crypto market since this is the most trusted and the most popular cryptocurrency that many investors had been investing compared to the other altcoins.

There are now over 1500 cryptocurrencies newer than bitcoin. These coins are more efficient, faster, and offer features that bitcoin lacks. In this year, bitcoin’s percentage of the market has fallen from 56% to 33%. |

Nokia lose from market and also lost it popularity because of their miss judgement. They don't understand the demand of situation, when everyone heading towards android they lunch windows and it is their error of judgement but BTC always become upgraded so, there is no possibilities.

Bitcoin will remain in the market compared to YOUR negative thinking about Bitcoin, if this old, outdated technology as you perceived, then you better stay away out of this forum, go and follow your best coin site, link and remain there forever. Look at the market preview, where is Bitcoin now? it may have some down stream on its price but remember that this is just a market glitz, it will correct itself. Bitcoin in number one among all ALT coin as posted in the market. |

Nokia fell because of lack of inventiveness. They kept producing the same phones. It was their fault. But for bitcoin, its not the case, new updates do come up regularly like segwit, LN and Core gets updated frequently too. You are wrong where you say that bitcoin technology is old. Bitcoin and altcoins use the blockchain technology, the ideas behind it are different. And altcoins serve a different purpose. Bitcoin was the first, and it is right now the best and no altcoin would exist now without bitcoin. |

How come you can say that Bitcoin technology is old? Looknat the monetary system, is it more advance than Bitcoin? It is only true that some altcoins have better characteristics than Bitcoin because it became their standard but it is not old! As for Nokia, the reason why it went bankrupt was because it didn't adapt the technology of Android. Bitcoin is a new technology and not all people has knowledge about it.

I have high hopes and beliefs to the great capability of the Bitcoin crypto currency in the future that it will not lose its market share, but it will eventually and continuously reign the entire crypto currency community. But the most important thing that the Bitcoin will always remember is that a continuous developments, improvements and innovations is necessary in the world we are living into to keep the gaining the trust and sustain what the people wants.

There are a number of important differences between bitcoin and Nokia. Bitcoin is a significant contributory factor to the initial development of blockchain and payment method. The key matter is not the technology only, but the value store like gold also. Moreover, lightning network will play an important role in the time to come and help btc to leave its competitors (altcoins) behind.

When there is a bull run and Bitcoin will be slowly losing again on the downside, people will jump into Alts again, a bit like what happened in 2017 and so will lose market share dominance. Also, there might be other technologies far more advanced now than Bitcoin like Cardano for example that might eventually take a larger chunk of the market, thus making Bitcoin less prominent, but like Gold, I think Bitcoin will become known as the store of value for cryptocurrencies for a long time to come due to its low supply and being first to market as it were.

There is something wrong with this analogy. number of supplies of bitcoin and the demand of consumers. The supply is getting thinner and thinner and as much as altcoin born and being promoted as bitcoin killer, it won't because as time passes by, the price will continue to grow no matter what people will says. As for the smartphone or cellphone industry, Nokia didn't see their competition coming, while for Bitcoin the competition is already here, but why they are not succeeding despite bitcoin's shortcomings? Its because of supply and demand. |
