I have a project I am working on that will be innovative and related to ENC. Until that is released, the same claim could be made about most coins. This started as a scrypt coin and was upgraded to scrypt-n when it was determined that asics would be hitting the market. Also, openssl updated immediately. After including KGW, which was so innovative it had be replaced, I'm a bit hesitant to just go throwing new ideas into the code base.
If you have suggestions, I would be happy to entertain them.
Hey there - I'm a fairly new bitcoin enthusiast and am very excited about blockchain technologies. I recently started checking out mining - partly for my own understanding. After a little research I found myself mining ETC - partially because of this post. For long time bitcoin folks it's probably nothing but for me I get a thrill out of watching my ETC balance go up using a mining pool. Anyhow - I was wondering if you could, without giving too much away, expand a little bit in general terms on what you're developing. Thanks!

well that sucks ... My first shot at this appears to be a failure if that's true. Do you mind explaining how you've identified this?

I think you meant to say, there are people that are not serious about the coin. Every coin goes through forks and has new versions available. We're going on a week now where everyone was given ample notification and time to update. That blockchain explorer is incorrect which is why it was removed from the OP and mentioned as being incorrect days ago! The operator of that site was notified and has chosen not to maintain it. He was also paid to host it for a year and given btc to do so.
From a technical standpoint, the coin is completely stable. It made it through the fork even though there was an active attempt at taking over the blockchain. The current price is not that great, but that has more to do with a massive coordinated dump by people who wanted to make quick money, than anything else.

BenjaminFranklin, this thread has information about the fact that that particular blockchain explorer was incorrect. There are also postings from each of the pools that upgraded their wallets last week when the update went out. The pools that I know to be on the correct fork are BecausePool and 0feepool. But, you can check with the others as well to be sure.

Thanks. I guess my research was pretty bad. I'll check out this huge thread.

Hello..
I am the one who didn't hear about the fork and didn't know to upgrade my wallet. I have several thousand entropy coins I have been mining for weeks. So, now my wallet wont sync and when I try to send coins anywhere, they never reach their destination.
Can my wallet be repaired/upgraded? Or am I just screwed? I hate this wallet bullshit, cryptos will never go mainstream until a better wallet is developed... Sorry, im just pissed about probably loosing these coins.

If you sent the coins after the fork, you most likely have not lost the coins! First thing you should do is make a backup of the wallet.dat file somewhere other than AppData\Roaming\Entropycoin folder. Next make a backup of your private keys through the old wallet. Open the debug console and type "listaddressgroupings". For each address listed type "dumpprivkey ####################" replacing the # symbols with the addresses listed. Copy the output somewhere safe as this is the private key for that account. Now, make sure you have a backup of the wallet.dat file and remove everything from the AppData\Roaming\Entropycoin folder. Open up the new version of the wallet and let it sync. Once it is done syncing, open the debug console and for each of your private keys, type "importprivkey ####################" replacing the # symbols with the private key. You should now have all your coins on the proper fork.
