I think they are probably concerning the single chip gridseed but bfgminer support would be the best option I think. Luke-Jr has already made contact with Lightningasic so perhaps we should all ask in his thread.

yeah frankly I don't want to go nuts setting up the one I pruchased.
 I am running 9 gpus at wemineltc.com 
I figured I would get one 5 chip piece to play with  but I am a bit tired  of setups.

I spent a while setting up:

ant miner s-1's
ant miner u-1's
and ltc with wemineltc.

I would like an easy setup for a change

just wired a few ... 2.1-5.5mm plugs (they do work) to a 12v 25a powersupply ...

Okay, great. I have all 5 of my GC3355 pods hooked up and ready to go!
Only thing is, I don't know how to get them to mine!
I've gotten as far as installing the USB and pod drivers so my WIn7 Laptop recognizes them but I don't know which mining programs to use or are available.
IS there a win7 version I can use?
I've tried cgminer but it doesn't recognize my hardware.
Can someone who is already mining with the GC3355 Dual Miners help me out?

What is the final consensus on the connector size for individual power supplies? Is it 2.1mm, 2.5mm, or both?

update :

- I am now plugging all units directly into pc via the 10 port usb hub,

- units  on com ports 1-9 are connecting and hashing   yay

- unts on com 10-12 give me an error when opening cpuminer  "open com10 failed , getlasterror 2"

any suggestions ?

- theory: I plugged each unit into the usb hub one at a time ,waiting for windows to recognize it , it has been suggested that the usb hub is getting overloaded by plugging all unit in at once.

- also to comment on my problems with the controller box,
It has been suggested to me that I need a basic hardware switch , instead of trying to use my fancy router to gain full function of the controller box,  I will go get one and try that out.

- to comment on the sdcard theory , windows is now asking me to do a sdcard update hmmm, it didnt before, maybe that is connected to issues

The actual size is 2.5mm but it seems that 2.1mm fit also.

 I opened up com 1 and 2 for use, and switched the units that were on com 11 and 12 over to com 1 and 2, now the units are hashing ta da !!!

I would say both I got both in hand here ... ordered a lot of 2.1-5.5mm and one 2.5-5.5mm to test and both worked out.

This model hub http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HL7Z46K/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 only supports 3 miners. I will test some D-link hubs later this week. I did find it strange that I cannot overclock to 900 with the daisy chain setup, only 850. Maybe this illustrates the need for a hub with a crazy amount of amps. Anyone find good deals on high amp hubs?

As a matter of fact, I did.
I purchased a powered 13 port usb hub at Microcenter for $18 bucks last night.
The plug in AC/DC wall wart that came with it can handle .500 Amps. That's half of one amp for you laymen.

I am also taking current measurements of each power input to my 5 pods.
At ldle,
5V USB power = 240 mA average.
So, no worries about overdrawing the hub's stock power pack at this level of operation, unless I find the pods pull more 5V amperage while mining. If so, I'll edit this and post a new report. But, don't forget that your PC's 5V source is also powering them so the wall wart is just a backup for additional current supply if/when needed.

13.8VDC Pod power = 2.083 Amps average. That's 0.4166mA per pod. Just under half an amp.
About 28W for the whole smash, at idle.


I'm testing a 5V / 2Amp switcher on the usb hub, all is running well right now.
Will take more measurements after I get them mining and post the specs, if anyone is interested.

I haven't been able to get my pods mining yet (very sharp learning curve) but I eventually will.
Anyone who is currently successful and setting up and mining these GC3355 USB dual miners, I'd be greatly appreciative of some assistance in getting my gear, mining too!

Install, finds hardware, installs software, presents fields to fill in pertinent data and perimeters, click on Go and you're mining! That's just too darn easy, eh? Wink

What issues are you having? I guess you are not using the controller. What os are you hosting the miners from?

With my units I got them hashing quite easily with the controller, plug and play.

Even when I hosted a set of 10 on my win 7 64 os that wasn't much of a problem running 10 instances of minerd and 1 instance of cgminer
