Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

"can you extend the deadline , my btcs on hold @ mtgox."
Hi, Sorry auction has already started, I honor my auction conditions and that means not editing them once the auction has started. You might try to sell your Gox coins for "normal" coins in one of the threads in the currency exchange section there are plenty of buy orders. Thanks, Krach

Can't believe people are going to be pay $600 for this domain which would not be in the top results do your research people just because it has bit-coin in the domain doesn't mean its going to be in the top ranked search of "Bitcoin".

Hi MakeBelieve, Thanks for bumping my thread. If you would like to discuss the merits of buying and selling domains, your SEO mastery, or share your high level internet wisdom then please go to the "disscussion" section of the form. This is an auction thread and if you have come here to troll then you are in the wrong part of the forum.
Thanks, Krach

We agree 100%... Names don't magically appear in top search results. A well built site and SEO pulls them in top search results. People (including Cryptonames.com) are willing to pay 1 BTC for the BRANDING possibilities of this name. Have said it once, and will probably say it again: Bitcoin and all the other crypto/digital/virtual currencies are barely beginning. Wouldn't you agree? Try to acquire this name for this price when things really take off. If you believe the price of BTC will go up, then so will the value of associated domain names; they're directly tied to each other.

this is a horrible domain name - im definitely not going to try and spread FUD to try and keep the price down - and im definitly not going to beat the highest bidder a few seconds before the auction closes
terrible domain. nobody should bid.

I got my final bid screwed up by this too and wasn't able to get it in. Maybe it would be a better idea for auctions on here to have extended bidding, like most auction houses do to prevent situations like this. That way the bidders can decide on a fair price based on their max, rather than who was able to get the right bid in during the last few seconds.

The best auction format is the one that ends 24 or 48 hours after last bid. It is heavily used on domain forums. It's great because:
- Last second bidders are automatically out of the game
- It is much more helpful in determining the real market price of an asset

Could you expand on that a little bit? I am looking to sell off a domain... It's an ordinary auction. The only difference is that closing time isn't set in advance but is reset everytime a bid is received. Example: - you post a bid on March 02 at 08:21:55 AM -> if nobody bids by March 04 at 08:21:55 AM (48 hours after last bid) you win the auction - I leave a bid on March 03 at 09:13:42 PM -> if nobody bids by March 05 at 09:13:42 PM I win the auction

I aggree with the 48-72 after last bid aucitons, however since the price of bitcoin changes a lot and some of those types of auctions can go on for weeks people might "cancel" their bids if there was a price spike. Maybe I will try it for an experiment here once.

Personally, I think rather than the 48-72 hours 15 minutes is fine. It's called "extended bidding." As long as you placed a big during the regular auction time, you're allowed to place bids after the auction end time. Auction only ends after 15 minutes with no bids. This is how many collectible auction houses run auctions.

If you choose the right minimum bidding value, the auction will not last more than 8-10 days in the worst case.
