Hello Mods,

This thread is to inform you about the iMusify Bounty Campaign Thread:

Quote

The thread is full of bot replys from newbie accounts, examples:

I have reported over 30 replys already to moderators, however the list is never ending.

Issues include:

1. Replys like: Good Project, Great Project, Amazing Project, Nice Team, Good Team, Best Project

2. Many Newbie accounts (most probably bot accounts > with activity either 1 or 2) are only using Quote of the 1st post of the thread with 0 reply beneath them

3. Many Newbie accounts are only copying signature BB code of Hero/Legendary Member and posting it as a reply.

4. One of the interesting thing that I found during reporting is that a lot many newbie accounts are just quoting the first message of the thread and all of these newbie accounts have a similar kind of signature as below:
Quote
5b1ffa14eff03

I have gone through first 10 pages of the bounty thread and its full of such instances.

Edit: I went through all 23 pages of the thread and found atleast 70 such messages which are from potentially bot accounts. I have a quick question about reporting as well, if I am reporting thread replys, I hope the accounts also gets reported and not only the messages?

In this thread per my understanding there are over 50 potential bot accounts.

I did reported 50+ replys, hopefully they will be removed soon, the concern I have is that these bot accounts, fake accounts etc, they keep on finding new ways to spam.

These spammers/bots are really annoying. I think it is much better to nuked that thread. I have found multiple thread which is very similar to this one as it is full spams, actually this thread you provide has less than spams than those we were working at (SpamBusters). Reporting is really never ending as those account we report get banned and these spammers will only create new accounts to continue their job. But since we have no other option than to report, we need to patiently review these accounts one by one.

By the way, what is the last page you reported? maybe I can help you to report those remaining accounts.

One more thing, I just noticed that your a participant of iMusify.

Yup I am a signature participant in iMusify and thats the reason I came across this thread. I found so so many such pointless replys over the thread that made me wonder to rethink about my participation in there bounty. Do you think that this could be manipulated by the bounty managers/projects.

I rechecked and found that now the page count moved from 23 to 20, there should be most of the comments which I reported are taken care by mods already.

I can see only 2 unhandled reports and rest are taken care.

EDIT: Checked MODLOG and can see all replys are deleted (thanks and appreciate the quick action here)

Now, I randomly checked many profiles here where the reply was deleted, though these are potential bot/spam accounts and the accounts still exist, is there a way for mass reporting all these accounts to nuke?

Going after individual posts on the altcoin board is more or less a lost fight. I sometimes create long lists of accounts that are most likely spambots, and once in a while a Mod goes after them and bans hundreds of those.
When I report individual posts made by spambots, I add a description asking for them to be nuked. That works most of the time.

I have no proof to prove but, Yes I think these bounty managers are sometimes behind of all of these spamming. They are paying account users (with multiple accounts) and those services who provides bot accounts to posts spams in their Bounty/Announcement thread to bump it that's why we can see a lot of shills in every Announcement thread and bounty thread in Alt Section.

Guess If I do this in 2 or 3 threads more, I will be eligible for the basic 300 reporters badge, gladly I am on 100% accuracy on reporting with 100+ reports at the moment.

Regarding, bounty manager involvement, I have seen cases where bounty managers put a rule to post atleast 2-3 of there post of there weekly defined number of post in the ANN thread, in this case there is nothing like that, so I am highly skeptical about there involvement here, but yea, if I find so and If I get a proof, for sure I am getting out of this campaign.

Cheers and Thanks for the appreciation...  Cool

You can't win a war against automated bots. They're like a hydra. You ban 50 bots and 50 more appear instantly. I've suggested several things to help combat their usage though:

Require at least one merit to become a Junior (bots will never rise past Newbie status then and can be nuked once spotted)
Posts from lower ranked accounts don't bump ICO threads to the top (which would then render this sort of spam useless)
Posts in bounty Ann threads don't count to post or activity
Remove signatures completely from at least Juniors
More patrollers/mods who just handle this sort of bump spam (as well as sig spam)
Charging ICOs to make their ANN here. You could even get rid of the ANN board completely and give them their own sub once they've paid the fee. If there's no Ann board then there will probably be no paid bumping because it will be useless. Let them spam away in their own slum and squalor.

Implementing a few of those would probably put a stop to this nonsense and it's certainly causing too much headaches and work to handle.

I think we should even look at the possibility of the people who make the Announcement moderate their own threads and they have to keep it clean otherwise there are punishments. Really not sure why we let crapcoin ICOs get away with doing anything they want whilst staff are left to clean up the mess. Probably 90% of the staff workload is caused by ICOs and they should have to compensate for this.

If you just did your job, people wouldn't have to report.
Spamming is obvious in your thread, you're either blind or approve of the whole thing.

If you really cares about your Bounty thread, then why you just let spammers and bots to spam your thread? If @askmecrypto won't do a thing to report those spams in your thread (which actually you can do by your own), your thread will remain spammed.

Can you tell me some reasons why you keep those spammy replies in your thread? Smiley (Sorry for removing the color and bold)

Your Thread looks pretty clean now, I dont find any new spammers posting irrelevant replys any more.
The point is you should have put some strict rules, notifying about any cheat/scam profile to be reported to mods immediately.

The biggest issue comes from airdrops participants where people use bots and fake profiles in 1000s to register for airdrops.

Anyways, I appreciate the bounty manager to come forward and respond. A lot of them are there which just hide in the shadows and does not care about what is happening. Cheers and hope you will be managing the threads along with your campaign better now.!!  Grin
