There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Time Since Last Block 7 hours 24 minutes 8 seconds We have had several issue during the night, which we have been working to solve. It would seem all of them are solved now and we are finding blocks and making payouts. We apologize for the inconvenience these problems have caused our mining community. Rest assured that we always work to fix problems and that it is our goal to avoid problems like this. The problems have been multiple, both with the previously mentioned node connection problems (although these seem to be completely solved) and a very unfortunate DDoS attack that knocked us down in spite of the DDoS protection in place (our network provider had these issues). |
