I just want to warn innocent bitcoin users.

My name is Tracie, I found out about bitcoin a year ago, about 6 months ago I started buying on coinbase and localbitcoin. 3 months ago I wanted to try trading, so I would trade BTC for LTC and other Altcoins. Everything was fine, I had no problems at first. I ALWAYS removed my coins back to cold storage after I traded. But one day I couldn't withdrawal (I could however deposit) and I asked for help via support. I sent support tickets in Russian. I sent a friendly reminder for 3weeks everyday! Never a response?!

So after waiting 3 1/2 weeks I asked for help in the BTC-e.com chat and INSTANTLY my account was 'suppended'. No reason? No explanation? No timeframe? No support ticket response?

I have had zero help from BTC-e.com

The bigger problem- I truly believe in bitcoin, that's why I convinced friends and family to invest! Sad unfortunately my dad and 3 other friends invested, and out of all the times I used BTC-e.com, they blocked my withdrawals? of course BTC-evil must have noticed the large deposit and after we traded for LTC and XPM they blocked withdrawals, at first I assumed it was a glitch or honest mistake. But after they didn't respond for 3 1/2 weeks I THEN asked for help in BTC-e.com chatbox. My account THEN was 'banned' at this time I COULD STILL see my BTC but couldn't trade or login fully. I THEN asked for help via support tickets. THEN my account was marked 'suspended' at this time I COULD NOT see my BTC?! And to this day they won't respond and I can't even see my BTC balance anymore Sad

My whole life is screwed by this, my dad and my friends are very mad and I am trying to explain Bitcoin is not bad! It's just BTC-e.com is bad, they don't care or understand. All they know is the first time they invested, everything is gone! My friends are actually hiring a lawyer to sue me!

I wish I had taken screen shots, but I didn't know what was going to happen! Now I have no proof, I assumed coinbase would be able to help, NO they only confirmed lots of complaints of confiscated funds by BTC-e.com. So it's well know the FRAUD by BTC-e.com

Why me? Is it because I'm a US citizen? Is it because I'm female? These are the crazy questions you ask yourself when you become a victim of BTC-e.com

I have read endless reddit/bitcointalk of innocent people who had BTC-e.com commit FRAUD, yet still they are still allowed to hurt more user.

I honestly considered committing suicide, My whole life feels ruined, and I was just trying to help share this amazing technology.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

BTC-E is notorious for having poor customer support, try contacting them through all possible channels, and be perseverant.

Please stop spreading this lie. BTC-E does NOT offer support via skype, they stopped that near the end of 2012. The ONLY btc-e accounts on Skype are scammers.

OP - having dealt with this (twice) from BTC-E, my only suggestions are to be patient and persistent. I had a total of 180 btc being held by btc-e between my two problems with them, and after weeks of writing to their support thread here and on reddit, they finally sent my funds both times. I decided after the second fiasco that I would no longer use their service. There is a huge disconnect between the site and it's support staff, but I feel they will eventually make things right. They also have a habit of randomly banning IP addys that they believe are being used for malicious activities/account hacking. You may have been a victim of that as well. Also, the support in chat of btc-e is a joke. There are a few good eggs working for them, but there are also some real bastards. There's one chat support guy that is an absolute asshole (can't remember his name atm), so avoid them if you can and use the official ticket/forum/reddit path if possible.

Good luck.

try send a message in russian ?
I suspect they read english just fine (when it suits them) but when I had a question they only bothered to respond when I translated it to Russian.
Still I rekon btc-e is one of the more honest exchanges after they got hacked a year or so ago and the users did not have to foot the bill... unlike all the other exchanges who get 'hacked'

Again, you're incorrect. Their support page has been a ticket system since around April of 2013. Prior to that they utilized skype, but they no longer do. I asked an admin directly about it, and if you search through btc-e.com's user handle here, you will see them clearly stating that they do not offer skype support anymore. So, once again, every skype alias out there that portrays itself to be btc-e's support, are liars.

Sorry for your problems. I would continue to send them messages via all channels possible. Dont give up. I would start taking screenshots of everything you do, to prove to your friends that it wasn't your fault. When this gets taken care of, I would probably move to another exchange. I've always been tempted to arbitrage on btc-e but stories like this have kept me away. Im glad I didn't stay there long. or have a substantial amount at risk.

Strange......OP made account just to make the OP on 24th of Feb. That was only time they have ever been on.
So they did not come on the next day, or a few days later, or a week, or a month later to see what people suggested to assist.

BTC-e is a joke.  As is BitStamp.  If you need to buy and sell Bitcoins, do so through LocalBitcoins.com and store them offline in an electrum wallet.  I also run https://CoinChimp.com and we encourage users to withdraw their funds to an offline wallet, rather than store them onsite (even though funds are not stored on the server and are completely safe).  It is always better when buying bitcoin to get them off the exchange and into your private wallet ..
