50 people died in a bus attack in Yemen and 77 were injured, most of whom were children, the International Committee of the Red Cross stated, citing officials. The Saudi-led coalition has called the attack "legitimate." The Saudi-led coalition later said the airstrikes were aimed at missile launchers used to attack the southern Saudi city of Jiza, claiming its strike constituted a "legitimate action." It went on to accuse Houthi rebels of using children as human shields. The attack took place in Dahyan Market in northern Saada, a Houthi rebel stronghold, on Thursday morning.

Whatever is meant here by a "legitimate" attack? Would it be the traditional definition "in compliance with the law"? What the heck is wrong with these people? Another part of this article stood out to me:
Quote
Thursday’s attack is the latest in Yemen's ongoing, brutal civil war. But, despite the conflict having started in March 2015, Western governments and media outlets have largely turned away, preferring to prioritize the Syria conflict over the plight of Yemeni civilians who face extreme hunger, a lack of medical supplies, and have endured a major cholera outbreak.
What a powerful point. The media somehow picks and chooses what wars to talk about. In reality there are many wars happening all over the world. When the media doesn't talk about a war, the rest of the world thinks that everything has calmed down. Some people are not getting help that they could if the media actually talked about what's happening. This is yet another confirmation to me that the "news" hardly gives you a picture of what's really happening in the world.

It really saddens me when I hear of the war in Syria, it seems this war has been on like for ever.
Yet it doesn't seen like peace will every return to that place.
Just sad I must say.

Unfortunately, America has turned war into a profitable business...

If you think Syria has been going on a long time, what about Afghanistan?
The US has been fighting in Afghanistan for 17 years... 3 more and we get a gold watch, right?

The US invaded Afghanistan because of the attacks on 9/11, to get Osama Bin Laden... who died years ago in another country... why are we still in Afghanistan? (hint: its all about the money)

Sorry if this isn't about Yemen, which is also tragic and very overlooked by the corporate media... the media has abandoned their job

Ah the Saudis at it again. I almost forgot how this started. The Saudis were trying to prop up a Sunni government, right?

That region is just a mess in general. Even if Israel suddenly disappeared overnight, they'd still be killing each other.

Totally agree. They attack and kill people around the globe and, meantime, they clunch their pearls when someone attacks them. It is the hypocrisy of its higher level.
The US imperialism is, curiously, destroying the places where the oil is massive (as you say, its all about the money). Besides, they live under the idea they need to thank their soldiers with senseless phrases like "Thanks for your service". Seriously? Thanks for being brainwashed and for going to a foreign country to invade and kill their people? For creating a mess by the pathetic explanation of "helping the people? For providing weapons to terrorism in this area with the only goal of creating panic?

This is without a doubt what it all comes down to. It's horrible what's happening. It's all done on taxpayers dollar. Those dollars go into the pockets of those that produce the weapons. Then they create opportunities for people who deal in natural resources to make their riches. All the while, innocent people are suffering in these countries. Well, innocent people are even suffering in the US itself, while the governments eyes are on oil across the ocean. On the other hand, we can say that they're doing a pretty damn good job at brainwashing the population.

The bus attack with childrens can not be legitimate in any way. Yemen will not be safe country in next years, if someone can attack the bus with missiles.

That's exactly what I was thinking. How can you ever justify killing innocent civilians? It's so twisted when people lose their humanity somehow. Of course they would never kill a child from their own family. They create enemies in their minds though and disassociate the the people from real people. If only we could be more friendly with one another. If only we could break down barriers of hatred. We could do so much more working together than separately.

At least 40 children killed in Saudi-led coalition Yemen school-bus strike

The Saudi-led coalition has expressed regret over the Yemen bus strike that killed at least 40 children at a market last month, saying it accepts a conclusion by an investigative team that the strike lacked military justification. It added that it will hold those who made mistakes accountable. Such an admission is rare for the coalition, particularly as it previously called the strike on the school bus “legitimate.” The Saudi-led coalition intervened in the conflict in Yemen in 2015, in an effort to restore the internationally recognized government after it was driven out by Houthi rebels. At least 10,000 people have been killed in the conflict, though independent organizations have put the number at up to 50,000.

With these non stop war and battles of different countries innocent people were the one's that suffers...especially children which should be enjoying their childhood instead what had instilt with them is the fear and harshness of the society where they lived...power seems to be the root of all the war that is happening right now...everyone every country seems to like being called the strong and undefeated one...

Once the shooting starts, one of the consequences is imprecision and tragedy.

Are you going to simply continue to ignore the original cause or not?

Where did these Houthis get ballistic missiles and why are they firing them at Saudi cities?

Sure, let's do it. But let's not be blinded by the horrible tragedy and have that cause us to stop thinking.

The Saudis and the Houthis have what exact quarrel over what, exactly?

Looks like more Muslim <--> Muslim nonsense with guns and ballistic missiles and fighter jets.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houthi_movement

The movement's expressed goals include combating economic underdevelopment and political marginalization in Yemen while seeking greater autonomy for Houthi-majority regions of the country.[37] They also claim to support a more democratic non-sectarian republic in Yemen.[38] The Houthis have made fighting corruption the centerpiece of their political program.[25]
The Houthis took part in the 2011 Yemeni Revolution by participating in street protests and by coordinating with other opposition groups. They joined the National Dialogue Conference in Yemen as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative to broker peace following the unrest. However, the Houthis would later reject the November 2011 GCC deal's provisions stipulating formation of six federal regions in Yemen, claiming that the deal did not fundamentally reform governance and that the proposed federalization "divided Yemen into poor and wealthy regions". Houthis also feared the deal was a blatant attempt to weaken them by dividing areas under their control between separate regions.[37] In late 2014 Houthis repaired their relationship with the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, and with his help, they took control of the capital and much of the north.[39]
In 2014–2015 Houthis took over the government in Sana'a with the help of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and announced the fall of the current government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.[40][41] Houthis have gained control of most of the northern part of Yemen's territory and since 2015 have been resisting the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen that claims to seek to restore the internationally recognized Yemeni government[42] to power.

Could anyone seriously imagine that the Saudis would want a neighboring country run by people that fire ballistic missiles at Saudi cities?

Whatever terminology they want to use, it is wrong to kill such innocent souls who dont even have any clue of what legitimacy mean let alone to give their lives away for such definition. Lets be real for once. May their souls rest in peace and may God grant the families the grace to bear the losses. Its very unkind!
