*edit* Goat is going to have to come up with a new defense if this isn't true!

where does the forum suggest someone start a pass-thru for a ponzi?

night night im off to bed.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

how come liability isnt brought up wheeeeeennnn

forum accepts advertising money from scamming companies ? or companies who are clearly fucking over customers
or when the forum puts someone in a position of power and they scam, and delete threads which put they in a negative light ? or the forum puts someone in a position of trust and they scam... forum suggests someone starts a pass thru for a ponzi offering 7%.

bloody hell i couldnt restrain myself Sad

1) There is a disclaimer saying that the forums doesnt endorse what people advertise. We arent the better business bureau and rather than spending hundreds of hours investigating the legtimacy of each company, we just ask people to use their own diligence.

2) If a mob organizes on your website, and then kills someone, guess who the police are going to be involving? The forum didnt put Pirateat40 in a position of trust, as you are referencing. Its members did.

LOL mate I just spent 8 seconds searching and I found some interesting posts from 2012 from google. Imagine what happened if I searched my my own logs :]
Don't be a dick and and play stupid. You really want all of it dragged back up ? Certain parties would be interested now I believe Pirate will be going/gone to trial.

If this was a business in real world certain parties would be in jail for their lets say, insider trading that occured in 2012.
however that would be the least of their worries on the charge sheet.

anywho over it, unless you do need the full log of what occured between May 2012 and early 2013, to refresh yours and inevitably the LE/SEC investigator/whoever else is readings memory? Even just the allegations that multiple people make towards certain parties will have the LE/SEC investigator lick their lips.

*edit* You are partially correct about the pirate trust thing, I was more so referring to other members on that part..
Also I don't think a disclaimer means as much as you think it does.

We need repentance (sp? sorry) they seem pretty good on laws and related things.

btw you know 3 moderators from the silk road forums were arrested on xmas 2013?
Now i'll be careful to not say anything that wasnt in the papers, but i believe they were arrest in connection with helping to run the site (or something similar i'm about to leave for  work and not gonna check now) even though they were just mods on the forum.
I'm not suggesting you guy have anything to worry as obviously silk road was on every single 3 letter agencies radar, but still, It can happen.. and hopefully it woulnt... but if it does the disclaimer defense is not gonna end well Sad

just to confirm i'm NOT saying the mods here will be arrested at gun point so don't all start flapping your chompers.  i'm just saying.. it did happen to mods... granted they were on the largest drug buying website in the world. The world isnt black and white. lots of grey and purple.. and green.. and blue.. all the colors of the rainbow (minus grey, purple, and add a few more if you grade 2 memory is correct)

The moderators from the Silk Road forums were also users of the Silk Road, and easily trackable because of their positions. I figure as long as I stay out of the drug markets I'll be alright  Smiley

The disclaimers are very similar to what you will see on craigslist. The Moderators aren't responsible for what people put on this website, we moderate posts to cut down on spam, and remove the outright stupid posts, not to protect people from scams. It would be impossible for us to catch all but the obvious scams, and by taking action against any of them, we would be providing a false sense of security, leading to even more scams. Use your own judgement, don't get scammed, and let others know if you detect fraud.

Yeah I saw all those death threats and was a little surprised. I mean it's only pixels on a screen, and you can't ban that - and you certainly shouldn't be banning ideas - but there are some pretty crazy people out there, and I think death threat posts are just tipping the scales of good taste a little. And to be fair, no one knows the scope of anyone's involvement in anything at Gox. Surely it's not a one-man operation? Don't a dozen developers and other employees share the perceived blame?

I feel this way when people whine about Obama/Putin/whoever and so on. Yeah blame Obama personally- like there's not an army of faceless lawyers and accountants that are involved in every single policy decision.

Obviously Gox doesn't have that sort of scope, but you get what I mean ...

Still, Karpeles has a 'what me worry?' sort of attitude in some of the media, so whatever, as you were bitcointalk.  Huh

Is there some evidence of people from MtGox using sent ID's to steal houses or other property?

Death threats are as serious as murder attempts in many countries and you could end up with jail time.

I would not welcome an investigation of police, or even interpol, but i have dealt with them before online and i have learned to what extend they take things serious.  This forum has already crossed a red line.

If you think they are not interested or that i'm exaggerating then i suggest you do some research into 4CHAN.ORG LOIC (low orbit ion cannon) and the involvement of interpol in an investigation and the total amount of jail time following.
Been there, done that, bought the fucking T-shirt.
All you screaming idiots, be very careful what you type, one wrong button press can cost you a lot.  You are easily traceable.

100k btc reward for anyone who turns Mark Karpeles into
a sex doll picture from deepweb? Whoever posted it should
have his account deleted, absolutely disgusting.

Was posted with the title "Found on deep web" in the off-topic section.
I think (hopefully) it was deleted before more than a few people
including me had to endure seeing that picture. Someone also linked
the same picture in another Mark Karpeles thread, and that one too
got deleted afaik.
Be happy you didn't get to see it. Altho I'm pretty sure you can find it
if you google Mark Karpeles sexdoll. I strongly recommend not to though,
unless you have a strong stomach.
