Seems to me like pools are finding new blocks quickly. Unless I don't understand my cgminer screen, I am seeing "stratum from pool X detected new block" all the time, constantly.

What happen to the directions for solomining?  A few other forums had a placeholder for the how to, but it never got updated......

The days of solo mining on new coins are probably over, unless it's a ninja-launch and there's not 10 pools and 1000 miners ready to jump on it.

Current difficulty is floating around 100-130ish. At difficulty 100 you will find about 0.2 blocks per day per MH/s. That means if you're mining at 1MH/s, you will find a block on average only once per 5 days. At this early stage the difficulty is far too variable to be waiting for up to 5 days - what if in two the difficulty is at 200?

My rough rule of the thumb is that as the difficulty value approaches your MH/s capacity it is probably time to consider pooling. difficulty 0.1 at 1MH/s? Solo. Difficulty 3 at 3MH/s? Might be time to move to a pool.

You may try this patch while developers are relaxing:

Yeah, maybe you guys are right, and for some reason the DEV's don't want to post the solo-mining instructions anyway so it's "pool mining only" for zeitcoin I guess.

I swear I saw them at one point, thought they were on the first page but I just can't find them now. Oh well, maybe it's better this way.

Solomining is meaningless at such difficulty. Moreover, the solo miming procedure is quite the same as for all other coins.

For everyone for those that may now be waking up & missed what happened after the launch of zeitcoin last night let me explain why you do not have as many coins as you would expect after leaving your miners running on our pool or other pools for that matter.
First off the #rate went through the roof for this coin from the get go, a fair launch for sure, the #rate started on GH/s not MH/s & hit over 25 GH/s with a diff rate that skyrocketed to match, that was also coupled with the fact that a lot of pools where most certainly taken by surprise with the amount of traffic they received & as each pool crashed so the pressure increased even further on the rest again in turn that also slowed the system for also finding blocks down even further, after which every pooled continued to run with the block chain stuck at 500, this took quite some time locate & to get sorted, we will be going through the pplns which looks to have an issue even though we are still finding blocks & the wallet is recording what we have found, i will sort this as soon as possible and all payouts from the blocks being found rest assured will be corrected if needed, I have just woken up after 3 hours sleep as i write this so please give us some time to sort any issues there may be.
    Many Thanks Yourmine.org

I have been mining on your pool for an hour or so with ~3400Khs. Why am I not yet seeing any coins? Neither unconfirmed nor confirmed. I have accepted shares in at least the last 5-10 blocks found.

Should I just switch pools? Is yourmine not working properly?

Interesting project.

So, do the developers consider themselves "members" of the movement? There is no real membership to TZM of course, so agreeing with the shared concepts makes you a member immediately. I consider myself a part of the movement since 2010.

This here confuses me a little:
Quote
Our first step in this now that we have the coin and all wallets created will be to contact the Zeitgeist movement and offer them an equal distribution of 100 Million ZEIT to be spread to their members and organizations they work with.
So, what do you mean by to contact the Zeitgeist movement? You mean talk to some of the more visible Zeitgeisters?

I ask this because of what I just stated. If you consider yourself part of the movement, then you are basically the movement, and you can just do what you think is right to support it. For example, make a crypto like this one.
