An Error Has Occurred! User stats are disabled

Hello friends,

when I go to my profile or any other members profile and click on "Show general statistics for this member." shows this error is it just me to get an error or for every person its disabled ?

I guess it used to be active but now it does not show the memebrs list. The admin disabled it that is why you are seeing this error message. Sorry my bad.

Yes it's the same I guess. The Show Stats page is disabled by the admin. I used to think that once I become a member or full member or higher then I may be able to see some data but seems like it's the same for everyone.

but whats the reason behind this ? User stats should be visible its good for track the stats of any person at-least we have to check our own stats.

Because there is no need to. It was using too much of the forum's work (which is why people were using it to DDoS the forum) and it was just some cool stats. Not that big deal.

It would be quite nice if Theymos could dump these stats on a monthly basis or something though. It used to nice to see those individual stats.

I remember checking it out once, mostly covered things like where you were posting and topics created. Not sure what else.

I have no idea how hard it would be but I wonder if it's the type of thing that can be added to VOD's bpip project.

And with the one second delay added onto it (which is a rightful delay).
There would be a lot of issues with bypassing that with a lot of parsing bots as it'd turn into vod unintentionally ddosing the forum.
Since there are 43938437 posts, it'd take a minimum of 73231 seconds (if every topic were 30 pages or less) - which makes it at least a day long and it's not going to end up like that with everything considered. It would also be unnacceptable for us to start pulling data from the database (before people come up with that idea) - you make a backdoor for one and everyone wants in...
