I tried asking questions on the topic thread but it seems closed, e.g. no Reply button.

1. If another user has some signatures is there a way to see how much the user has earned from the sigs?

2. Are higher ranked users, Legendary, Full Member, Member, paid different rates for carrying the sigs?

3. If a user ignored the May 24, 2015 direction to change his password, had a higher than Jr. Member status, and had his username hijacked, and the hijacked username now has a string of sigs, and the ethernet address posted shows large amounts of eth moving through, is there anything the real owner of the username need to worry about?  If he's in another time zone on another continent will that disrupt my sleep or would that be something to do with the large amounts of eth moving through?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Your questions are very stupid ones however I am trying to answer ...

Quote
1. If another user has some signatures is there a way to see how much the user has earned from the sigs?
Ask the manager LOL
common sense - learn how to find their wallet address and check the address if they have one.

Quote
2. Are higher ranked users, Legendary, Full Member, Member, paid different rates for carrying the sigs?
Depends on the manager.
Another commons sense - Normally yes, it's different rate.

Quote
Not very clear but I do not see a bitcoinTalk account and an ETH wallet will have any connection at all.
Common sense - BitcoinTalk is not a currency or wallet  Tongue

OK.  I've been oblivious to sigs with ads.  Considered a sig once to include a comment not an ad.  Only looked at the What are Signature Campaigns? thread today.

I appreciate your reply.

Read this to learn about SIG campaigns

1. If another user has some signatures is there a way to see how much the user has earned from the sigs?

Should you feel the need to stalk a user you can go check the thread for said campaign and check the spreadsheet this will track the payments for a particular campaign usually from start to finish. Although I'm not sure wht business it is of yours.
Quote
2. Are higher ranked users, Legendary, Full Member, Member, paid different rates for carrying the sigs?
Depends most pay different rates for ranks, some even have a different rate for Merit earned. This is usually outlined in the SIG campaign OP.
Quote
3. *snip* and had his username hijacked, and the hijacked username now has a string of sigs, and the ethernet address posted shows large amounts of eth moving through, is there anything the real owner of the username need to worry about?  If he's in another time zone on another continent will that disrupt my sleep or would that be something to do with the large amounts of eth moving through?

If the hacker was dumb enough to continue using the same address, then great for the person who got hacked. And any large ETH transaction will wake you up in the middle of the night, regardless of proximity to a computer or internet or any sense of reality.

This guy's real account was hacked, he claims that he owns this -soy, and might want to charge the person who handles it.

If that is really your account, you must have a proof. Judging on the history of soy, it was a miner.Your oldest sent feedback was from 2013, and I think CanaryInTheMine can prove it.

Rest assured that the hacked account will be given red trust once you proved that it was yours.

Normally, if given a choice to do something and nothing, I choose to do nothing.
But I will do something if it helps someone else to do nothing.
I'd work all night if it meant nothing got done.

Well, looking at the current list of the username's posts, the first 1639 posts are mine and the next 762 posts seem by perhaps various authors, in English and French, on the US bitcointalk and the French bitcointalk.  And there's a sketchy sense about those posts.

Having the username given red trust - not helpful to me.  I'd like it returned and maybe only those 762 posts by others, branded as posted while the account was stolen.  I can no longer afford to mine and my trading skills suck.  So, I'll not likely log another 1639 posts.

I believe I've sent Cyrus data that should be sufficient to establish the account had been mine.

I think that it is amazing to see a member with 80 activity who doesn't even know what a signature campaign is.
Is this user only interested in bitcoin?

I will not look at his post history, so I will not get disappointed lol

This users posting is odd to say the least.

They've been giving the impression that they are the rightful owner of a hacked account from last year if I'm not mistaken.

Then there was the part about sleep disruption due to a large ETH  transaction. Huh

Maybe you can move the thread to the Beginners & Help board or just use the search button. Signatures are a public thing and all are different, each one has different rewards, so just try and search for information by yourself.

I do not really feel like engaging the wrong kind of people.  That said, what are the possible reasons my account was stolen if not to profit from signature ads?  I could see how a stolen cell phone could be of use but a stolen bitcointalk account?  Aside from sig ads raising money, and that the high number of *my* posts, the first 1639 on the username (now 2401 last time I looked), would make the account attractive to those with something to sell.  That reason is clear.  For something illegal?  Not likely, their IP would be on record I assume.

^^
You've nailed it the only reasons someone would have hacked your account last year are:

  • To join SIG campaigns on their own as a high ranking member
  • To sell the account for someone wanting to use it for reason 1, because of AD money on the forum accounts have a monetary value.
  • To scam someone by impersonating to be a trusted/veteran member of the forum.

Your post account wouldn't have mattered to them as long as it was above 1000, because at that time activity was the metric for achieving a new rank, such as Legendary.

What you should have done at the time it was hacked is had the account locked via the email you would have received when the email for the account was changed. The account would have then been useless to them. You obviously don't care about the account itself, but you could still make it useless to someone else by following these steps. Account recovery
