In my opinion, no altcoin is going to overtake Bitcoin as the primary cryptocurrency.Bitcoin has a substantial first-movers advantage over other cryptocurrencies. Even in the height of the end-of-year 2017 frenzy when Bitcoin transaction fees were ridiculously high, no crypto came close to taking its spot.

I mean no. This has been proven in the past, when the entire market fell, all alcoin plunged. To ensure and cash flow back to BTC, the capitalization of BTC is increasing

your shitcoin will be glorious and successful. Just like all those companies that got VC funds in 1998, until the big 2000 "holy shit" moment.

If its worth having as a feature, it gets folded into Bitcoin.

It is in my opinion quite silly. This can be compared with such a statement that someone is in the universe steeper than God. Bitcoin is the beginning and therefore it is not given to overthrow anyone. This is the basis of the whole crypto world. Destroy the base and the whole pyramid will fall apart.

The value of altcoins are determined by the value of Bitcoin. Do you think one day altcoins can break free from the Bitcoin strong hold?
There are altcoins that do not correlate with Bitcoin, playing their game.Over time, I think the connection between them is completely lost.

For me it's impossible because as long most holders and investors keep contributing in bitcoin than on other coins , for sure altcoin will still remain in  the same situation in the future and had no potential to break bitcoin records.

I think Ethereum which is not only a currency but also a smart contract platform has chance to pass btc in near future. But Btc will remain as firs. Beside that other alt coins are just like project.

Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies. I think there is no chance for altcoins to take over bitcoin. Even if any altcoin takes over bitcoin that would take some years to do so. Altcoins are mostly dependent on bitcoin. Even if altcoins breakout of bitcoin threshold bitcoin will always be considered as digital gold.

Some people say Ethereum has chance to to pass btc. But I think other alt coin can not replace btc. Most of the countries accept and recognize BT but no alt coins though they have capability to create new altcoin.

I think all the people want that it will come true. It is little bit hard as I know because it like as gold. Its not easy to replace but its too popular.

No I don't think so that altcoins will beat bitcoins as bitcoins is the parent of all other alternative crypto currencies and alternative crypto currencies are following the principle of bitcoins with additional features. When we compare the price of bitcoins and other alternative coins it is clear that there is no possibility for the price of alternative coins to rise above the bitcoins as the price of bitcoins way too higher than other alternative crypto currencies.

No I don't think it will.  Bitcoin has been placed here for us.  I think there is a large group behind it and it will be rolled out as the new currency for the world.  They will make it look like a grass roots movement did it and government isn't want it however they did all along.

I think over time, the excitement around Bitcoin will subside, new cryptocurrencies will appear, some promising ones will remain on the market, others will merge, and we will not even remember them.But..Bitcoin, no currency will replace or Eclipse.I don't think I should explain why,but it's true.

No altcoin has the tendency of toppling the bitcoin. The bitcoin has gained the momentum in the cryptocurrency world and made itself the price regulator of other cryptocurrencies.

Do you think one day altcoins can break free from the Bitcoin strong hold?
No.

They are reliable and connected to bitcoin through its trading pair but if an altcoin has its own pair and doesn't need bitcoin to start its own trade maybe it can.

But who will buy those altcoins if it doesn't rely to bitcoin?

Not all altcoins is depending on bitcoins value but most of the time they are dumping when bitcoins price is falling too and about into your question. Yes, its possible since we do know that anything can possibly happen here on crypto. Alts can top out when it comes to price but only possible into those coins who do follow bitcoin on rankings but this wont happen overnight and I shall say this would take years for sure or might not happen at all. who knows?

In actual sense, it isn't Ike the value 9f Altcoins are attached to the Bitcoin, but the market makers are the ones that influence the market with their choices and that's what people see and think that the Bitcoin controls altcoins. No its not that way. People simply switch side in a way of responding to the market.

Yes, altcoins have a always a chance to dethrone btc. ETH is already in the position of doing that. In near future it will dethrone the btc.
