I want to know too, I am currently store my bitcoin on exchange, but since the amount is not that large,I think it is fine for me. If the amount is large, I think it is more suitable to store them in hard wallet.

Coinbase is one of the easiest ways to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies, which earns it the first spot on this list. In addition to Bitcoin, Coinbase currently supports Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum and Litecoin. There are constant rumors of additional currencies like Ripple getting support from Coinbase as well.

Coinbase is not a wallet at all.its an exchange site. but you can store your coin here. I am also a coinbase user but I never use coinbase as a wallet. No key no coin.so try to use the wallet that provides a key for your coin. I would recommend using Blockchain wallet. From here you can open a blockchain wallet: https://login.blockchain.com/#/signup you can download from apple app store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/blockchain-bitcoin-wallet/id493253309?mt=8 and google play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=piuk.blockchain.android

I think this topic response will really help you and I but you need to carry out some research on your own to know somethings not just by asking. To my observation I learnt that the hardware wallet such as ledger  📒 is more safer to save our cryptocurrencies though its expensive but with it you have nothing to worry about as your funds will be safe with full assurance.

surely the best is blockchain.info, this is one of the oldest and secure, such as it possible for an online wallet. but secure wallet doesn't mean that you don`t need to care about privacy, don`t add add-ons on the browser, check your pc on Trojans, filter phishing links
