We should all fire PSA and start our own grading company? Who's in?

I just got this back! I would have graded it a 9 probably. Crisp corners.

PSA is literally drunk grading these. And they want an UPCHARGE too??!!

I see a score of psa 2 when you go to the 2018 allen and ginter psa population.  You don't show that.

At least it's "Authenticated"......but seriously!!!!!  Give them a call, ask them if there were any notes on this card.....I'd wanna know why. Every now and again, you just gotta call: BULLSHIT !!!

I don't care. They represented incompetence from my point of view.

I'm starting my own Card Grading "SERVICE"! Ha!  Roll Eyes

PSA is a basement operation at best, propped up by Beckett and the other publications.

Humans!

On a more serious note, I know from experience if you tried to call PSA you would get voice mail that says leave a message if you want a call back.  Then it would say sorry, the mailbox is full call back tomorrow.  I'm sure they would love to get the PSA 2 card back as I doubt they want it shared on instagram.  I personally if I was running PSA, would be having a discussion with the grader and also the reviewers as it goes through two quality control stages after it is graded.  Not going to ride this ride anymore, let me off.   Angry   I doubt they do a down charge, only up charges

https://hybridgrading.com/

This is a newer company that uses AI to grade. I am trying them out with a few submissions. Attractive slabs and detailed scoring. 60 business days $20 per card.

Hello All,

After further examination outside in sunlight/magnify...I noticed a crease on the PSA 2, on the front side.

So maybe a Grade 2 is warranted after all...  Huh Roll Eyes

OMG, Artificial Intelligence to grade the cards...SERIOUSLY?  Cheesy  I think that we're looking at the next #1 card grading service. Please, please, please do post some pictures when you get your cards back. Looks like PSA is going to be taken to school, in a huge way....and ALL the other "subjective" graders out there. Such cool things coming our way..... Smiley

On the grading
Ive sent in a comic I thought was PERFECT  Silver Surfer #4 with Thor   low mintage
centered right, color was vivid, zero imperfections I figured 9.4 at the least

came back 8.5  Makes me think only the buds ( dealers )  get the best grades.  Still got over $800 for it

Grading done by machines may be the way of the future and more reliable and accurate.  So accurate that it might make a 10 near impossible.

Hello PSA Customers,

Since my last update, the momentum behind the hobby has only accelerated. In fact, our Collectors Universe President and CEO, Joe Orlando, recently shared the reality of the surge of submissions to PSA.

I’ll try to further illustrate what has happened. The sheer volume of orders that PSA received in early March has fundamentally changed our ability to service the hobby. The reality is that we recently received more cards in three days than we did during the previous three months. Even after the surge, submissions continue at never-before-seen levels.

Effective immediately, PSA is temporarily suspending our Value, Regular and Express service levels. This will allow us to fully unbox and receive the recent surge of orders and focus on our most impacted service lines.

Our rapidly changing world requires a financial ecosystem that can keep up. Through our innovative technology and philosophy, we’re transforming the future of finance, for the better.

The cheapest cost to grade is 300.00 making a PSA graded card super expensive.  In the past you might consider buying an ungraded card hoping to score a 10 a save a little money but, that idea is out the window for now with PSA.  Anyone with PSA 10"s is truly sitting on a gold mine.  Won't be surprised to see prices go sky high on ebay.

I totally agree.  For those with PSA 10 cards in hand best news ever.  With base cards getting 750 now, the sky is the limit.  Ebay sellers should use promoted listings as that new money will pay top dollar with each sale providing a stepping stone for the next level.

With so much new money coming in auctions are a bit risky.  New folks likely don't know how they work and experienced members will swoop in.

Expect insane numbers next few months to a year

O.O

Just submitted my final orders the night prior.

I think the prices will jump on ALL grades and ALL cards, even outside of crypto, once this hits the card universe
