I was just thinking that yesterday; about how it's probably cheaper to just buy the cards we want rather than hunting.  But the hunt is fun    I found a print plate of blumstein in one of my hobby boxes last night 

I found a printing plate as well (Ryder Jones) along with a cloth Johnny Bench and two metal  1/3 minis.  this was in just two hobby cases, so i think i did good. 

You did great, anytime you pull a plate or metal mini's those are great cases.   What did the cases run you, I have seen them as high as 2100.00 a case

Oh, wow, that's crazy.  I got the case from BlowoutCards for around $1100.

Frank (Lynx Art Frank) was nice enough to point me to blowout cards where they sold for 1,100 at the time.  They have since sold out completely.  Steel City sells them for the same price.

I bought a Ginter X case for 1400 with an ebay 10% off that i may flip if anyone is interested. 

They did indeed sell out.  But they're restocked. As of right now they have five more cases available

Just got word from PSA that my crypto mini gold parallel got a grade 10    Very excited about that; hoping my glow in the dark gets a 10 as well.

By the way, side note:

Do not send the 10x14 poster to them.  They cannot grade it.

I mailed mine in and got word today that it's going to be shipped back  They said they do not have cases that large and unfortunately cannot grade it.  So heads up to anyone else who has the idea of sending it in like I did lol

This hobby is very, very addictive.  After finishing the case last night I wanted to order another  

Had a lot of great pulls; several autos, one of which is the swim suit model you all talked about (framed mini, limited to 25 and numbered).  Also got two rip cards, one limited to 75 and the other to 50.  And at least 10 relics.  Also a silver glossy box which makes it the second silver glossy box I've found

One of my 2018 Topps Home Run Challenge cards from an A&G box showed Cody Bellinger on the front, but the online system matched the code on back with Bryce Harper. Since the player on the card is supposed to match the player in the online system, I emailed Topps to ask if they may have printed the wrong code onto my card. Topps replied this morning.

"Yes that is indeed an error with your Bellinger card."

While it probably doesn't make it worth more, it does satisfy my desire for "error" collectibles.

Awesome Chris.  Are these (the non error ones) rare at all?  I've pulled several of them; at least ten different players.  Was debating on if I should scratch them or just hang onto 'em.

Hey bp, you should carouse the card forums to see if yours is a one off or if all the bellinger/harper cards are like this.  If you have a one off, you might certainly have a nice score there.  Worth a look

Just an fyi on the recent 1 of 10 5x7 cards I bought.  They sell relatively easily!  So far,  I've sold about 8 ranging from 50 dollars to 12 dollars.  I have a long way to go to recoup my initial investment, but assuming a 1/10 Cryptocurrency card is worth 300 bucks.  I hope to sell enough of the other cards to make it free or close to it.

People love the baseball legends - will Clark, George brett.  They also like Tommy wiseau, stugotz and the tennis players.

If you do buy a set, search for the topps referral link a member posted to save 10%.

We will see how this all plays out, and I expect to see fully private-key-loaded baseball cards coming in 2019 or 2020.  

Those are some beautiful cards, and I hadn't seen this thread before--I half expected the crypto cards to be loaded with a nominal amount of bitcoin.  It's great to see Topps do this, even though I don't collect cards anymore.

I liked your brief history of the trading card bubble, and it was spot-on.  Baseball was never my thing, but basketball was and those cards in 1986-88 (the ones I collected) didn't get printed nearly as much as baseball cards.  By 1999, those TV marketing shows were selling boxes or cases of Upper Deck baseball cards with the Ken Griffey Jr. rookie in it.  Very overpriced, too.  It was crazy how people were speculating in sports cards of any kind.  I used to subscribe to the Beckett monthly price guide, which was before the internet took off and it seems archaic nowadays that there were printed price guides.

Crazy how the quality of cards has gone up over the years, and it does seem like Topps and other companies have learned that overproducing cards screws collectors/investors.  That's a huge positive.  Unfortunately I don't think the younger generation is going to be all that excited about them.  From what I've read of the current state of card collecting, most of the active collectors are middle-aged men--sort of like how most current stamp collectors are geriatric ones.  Time will tell, but this is still very cool.

In the interest of full disclosure, i sold a red, brooklyn back and no number for about 2800 to an anonymous buyer.  Paid about 1600 for them.  Probably could have gotten 3500 on ebay i'm thinking, but as the saying goes.  Pigs get fed.  hogs get slaughtered.

Plus, i always want to give a preference for this community when i can.

It is funny how we've seen the same number of the 1/25 brooklyn backs and the 1/5 red cards.  Only a few NNO as well. 

For the NNO, i sometimes have to go through the A&G backs twice to see them.  Some folks may have a NNO cryptocard and not know it.

I previously stated that with the purchase of Topp $1,300 350-card 1-of-10 set, you could pretty much sell the rest and possibly make the Cryptocurrency card cost little to nothing.  But...

That is a ton of mailing.  Yesterday, i must have mailed 20+ items.  On Sunday, i have about 30 auctions ending, so it is beginning to be quite a chore.

i do like chatting with the baseball fans and negotiating with them though.  This is keeping me from looking at my losing ICO investments.  The stakes are much less with these cards and i appreciate that.
