Why would I choose this over:

A) Logging into my wallet where I can see all my addresses.
B) Saving them in a .txt file.

If the domain name was shorter some people would use it as an easy way to tell others (offline) how to remember their address.

Your idea is good and people can easily share address, but you should have kept a short domain instead, so people would have used to share address.

Hello everyone, this title gave me the idea of namedcoin system translator for bitcoin addresses.
Actually that's what I thought it was.

To elaborate:
given the existing infrastructure of namedcoin .bit addresses
- which we know that they're unique through the namedcoin's blockchain -
and associated with one entity(individual, company whatever),

wouldn't be possible to map any .bit address to an actual *coin wallet address?

That way we could just type in a domain to send money to, we wouldn't even have to scan QR codes let alone type the whole crypto hashes.

I don't know if that's already discussed, happy to hear your thoughts.

PS: actually now that I think more about it, it's a stupid idea b/c it defeats the bitcoin's security design, not?
