I believe this has been discussed before, but now I've found a current article showcasing its implications.
Imagine an American Idol type show based on the casting of votes via Bitcoin, opposed to being called, text, etc., in. Not only is the winner determined, but they also get to keep all the bitcoins casted. Same true for all the runner ups--no first place prize but they keep their Bitcoin tally.
