MtGox =/= Bitcoin
So one exchange is having troubles. We get it, move on. Sounds like something for Service Discussion. Or create a MtGox subforum next to the Scammer section.

Yes it is. I've ignored several boards already but these keep spilling over onto others. I won't have much left to ignore soon.

You mods must spend 95% of your time just moving threads. You should probably start dishing out warnings to repeat offenders and maybe even bans for a hour or day or something. It's annoying and makes the forum look a mess when there's traces of ghost topics everywhere. How hard is it to actually put the threads in the right place? This is another good reason for the newbie jail as it's mostly newbs who do this.

Are 'they' the same people, or different people? Maybe there should be a system that scans the topic title and maybe the content, and uses it to check whether it could be being posted in the wrong section... Liam

Liam To integrate that with SMF would be an incredibly large amount of time and effort, I'd imagine. I think it's more of a situation where the community needs to help the mods police these things.

Liam I think he probably just means people creating roughly the same topics on gox, not exactly and repeatedly the same ones. Newbs just think mt gox threads go in the bitcoin section.

You should make a Mtgox discussion thread and sticky it in some forum.

Just rename "Discussion" to "FUD" or "Conspiracy Theories" and people will post their thread in another forum.

You should make a Mtgox discussion thread and sticky it in some forum. A Mt. Gox discussion thread is a good idea. Megathreads don't really work well here when there's drama. The good information gets lost amongst all the bullshit and white noise so it becomes hard for people to find it. I assume people feel the need to post new threads on topics which already have 274 current threads because they're attention whores. It means people miss out on information because it gets spread across multiple threads and no-one wants to wade through all the bullshit to find it. There's not really a good solution (although starting a temporary MtGox sub-forum might be a good idea in this case). It does tend to die down pretty quickly when there's no new information for a while, though.
