The PRC actively devalues it's currency to stimulate it's manufacturing and export based economy. The consequence is that a good hedge is needed to store wealth.

Is it not because BTC provide the Chinese with a way of moving their wealth out of the country without restrictions or taxes

0% trading volume at Huobi. The bitcoins just go back and forth from buyer to seller.

The chinese go at literally everything that promises a prospect for wealth.
From what I read over the last years, wealth is like a religion to them, it's their primary goal in life and the pursuit completely acceptable/normal in society.

If the first "Spock" actor was a chinese guy, we wouldn't know "live long and prosper" today but an almost ferengi version "live long and wealthy"...

This has been discussed a thousand times. It's because they do not charge transaction fee, period.

exactly, you can basically sell your own btc to yourself with no financial impact and inflate "volume" as much as you want.
common people in china left bitcoin in december selloff after it was banned from business use.
the only ones left are whale trade speculators who use high frequency trading bots on 0% fee exchanges to inflate volume and exert influence on other exchanges by pretending to be a "volume leader" and then do exploitative/manipulative trading on those exchanges.

tips will be spent on ale and ladies of questionable character Grin

1) fake trading volume, fiatleak is clearly set up by some idiot like max keiser so he can point to something and say "CHINA BUYING ALL TEH BITCOIN, TO DA MOON"

2) even if it was real, huobi is zero fees, so its just bots trading

Nobody gives a fuck about ripple
