I am guessing some Russians are looking forward to give him a big kiss in the mouth.

Rumor has it from my Fed friends is that Mark has protection from a group of people. I wont go into it any further

just one more question, are we actually "paying for" his protection fee?

There is some nasty shit around the webs of what some would like to do to him and his family, together with personal information. Protection is wise, he won't run anywhere in that case and will be very cooperative with investigators.

could you pm me where can i see this nasty shit? i am very interested in it

really? you are going to blame yourself for Mark Karpeles's crime? he must be innocent for you

Blame myself? Why would I blame myself? I didn't have a single satoshi or any fiat in MtGOX. I didn't lose anything because I have 100% full control of my private keys. I wasn't dimwitted enough to relinquish the one and only thing I control in the Bitcoin protocol.

The question now stands; were you dimwitted enough?

stop fooling us, you don't even believe what come out of your mouth, no evidence? what evidence do you want? a video of Mark Karpeles sending bitcoins to bitstamp and selling them into an offshore account in name of CEO Mark Karpeles?

Yes, evidence. You know; that thing you need to be proven guilty. Didn't you know people are innocent until proven guilty by evidence? I'm mean seriously dude, WTF is wrong with you people?

It might be worth mentioning that there is no evidence of anything but incompetence at Gox.

Unfortunately, it seems as those who were dimwitted enough to have money/BTC in MtGOX will believe in absolutely anything else other than this. To them it's unfathomable that they fucked up.
I fear your right. These are the same people who, in an earlier time, might have sacrificed a goat to appease the weather gods who are causing all this drought.

stop fooling us, you don't even believe what come out of your mouth, no evidence? what evidence do you want? a video of Mark Karpeles sending bitcoins to bitstamp and selling them into an offshore account in name of CEO Mark Karpeles?
How about any evidence? I'm not saying there is no criminal activity going on at gox. I'm saying you and I don't know. What would you say at his trial? "your honor, the accused is guilty based on my hunch." You will need facts in court, except in the court of bitcointalk. Here you can say anything is a fact and anyone who disagrees must be in on the grand conspiracy.

from pastebin today, probably a few days old:

"[19:26] <MagicalTux> this is hurting us a lot however, not mentionning the names of our staff posted on reddit, families/etc being stalked, etc"

I'm quite convinced that people here are not considering this, but any public fantasising, however beneficial for your own state of mind, can be contributing to someone else going over the top.

Suggesting anything else than peaceful protests or jokes about France in general, is not proper conduct in any sense.

Oh, we don't have any psychopaths here. That requires real balls. We mostly have kleptomaniacs, antisocial personality disorder and the odd normal person that reads threads and posts wtf repeatedly because their in shock at the overt displays of stupidity.

gox was "the average BTC price."

What are you talking about? The past several months they have been deviating from all liquid exchanges by 10-20%. Their price was deviant, not average.

they never dropped below #2 most liquid exchange.

I don't know why so many people think Mark Karpeles would try to hide any of his assets. Why I heard he bought gox.com a few days ago. So we can look at the WHOIS records and it will clearly show that Mark is not trying to hide any assets much less any of his recently purchased assets.

Checking the public WHOIS records at Godaddy.com clearly confirms this as the following result will show...

Oh wait! He registered it under privacy. Godaddy is helping him hide his assets through their Domains By Proxy, LLC service. Yet another tool in the scammer's toolbax.

So you have to sue Godaddy to find out who they are hiding with their Domains By Proxy service.

Domain Name: GOX.COM
Registrar URL: http://www.godaddy.com
Registrant Name: Registration Private
Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
Name Server: NS-1009.AWSDNS-62.NET
Name Server: NS-345.AWSDNS-43.COM
Name Server: NS-1173.AWSDNS-18.ORG
Name Server: NS-1637.AWSDNS-12.CO.UK
DNSSEC: unsigned

For complete domain details go to:
http://who.godaddy.com/whoischeck.aspx?domain=GOX.COM

The data contained in GoDaddy.com, LLC's WhoIs database,
while believed by the company to be reliable, is provided "as is"
with no guarantee or warranties regarding its accuracy.  This
information is provided for the sole purpose of assisting you
in obtaining information about domain name registration records.
Any use of this data for any other purpose is expressly forbidden without the prior written
permission of GoDaddy.com, LLC.  By submitting an inquiry,
you agree to these terms of usage and limitations of warranty.  In particular,
you agree not to use this data to allow, enable, or otherwise make possible,
dissemination or collection of this data, in part or in its entirety, for any
purpose, such as the transmission of unsolicited advertising and
and solicitations of any kind, including spam.  You further agree
not to use this data to enable high volume, automated or robotic electronic
processes designed to collect or compile this data for any purpose,
including mining this data for your own personal or commercial purposes.

Please note: the registrant of the domain name is specified
in the "registrant" section.  In most cases, GoDaddy.com, LLC
is not the registrant of domain names listed in this database.

Planning to launch Zimbabwecoin in the future. Focused on building a community around it now.

its not the victims fault, listen to lets tsalk bitcoin episode 85, Andreys confident mtgox wont default.

Wrong. It's mostly the victim's fault. If you do not have sole control of you private keys then you do not own any Bitcoins. We all take a risk when we send any cryptocurrency to an exchange, but that's the nature of groundbreaking tech, of new and innovative ideas; it's still young and it still has flaws (even though I can argue that flaw actually resides in the human aspect in these cases).

Ultimately, we have no one but ourselves to blame if & when we lose any cryptocurrency.

I disagree, although researching who we trust with our money is important, when someone violates that trust, they are responsible, not the victim. "He shouldn't have left the door unlocked if he didn't want it stolen!" is a criminal mindset used to justify abhorrent behaviour.

It's very sad to see who actually wants to prosper the Bitcoin movement and who wants to simply make money off speculators! God may not forgive him for what hes done!
We can only imagine if this was all intentional or not! People wonder why everyone is so cynical and pessimistic within the cryptocurrency industry!

Some people are so poor ALL they have is money

If Gox does not re-appear with the money rather quickly I can no see no way of getting away with this without doing hard jail time.

If you steal a car and the police catch you they throw you in jail. You steal millions of dollars in scamming and ponzi-scheeming you are going to just walk away?

Nice to see there will be lawsuits pouring in http://www.coindesk.com/mt-gox-victim-files-class-action-lawsuit-lawyers/ hopefully the 1st of many. Mark Kaples should go to prison.

I never thought my life could be. Anything but catastrophe. But suddenly I begin to see. A "BIT" of good luck for me. Cause I've got a golden ticket!

While true in theory, this isn't a perfect world. We don't live in that candy coated, rose colored, sprinkles and rainbows world people can only dream about. This is the real world, we're your action have real consequences. You leave that door unlocked, and get ready to lose everything, including your dirty underwear. Mother nature displays this fact everyday. From animals to us, there's really no difference when it comes to natural selection.

Which will be absolutely pointless unless authorities can prove he stole the coins himself is an accomplice to the theft. So have fun waiting for that to happen, as I honestly suspect he had nothing to do with the theft. Filing for Bankruptcy protection means nobody is going to get squat.

Find out the whole truth before we crucify him. I think he's incompetent but we don't yet know what exactly happened/is happening behind the scenes of Gox.

Seems to be a lot of smug people on here who were smarter than the rest of us for not trading on Gox. The truth is, the large majority of BTC owners traded on the exchange. Without the liquidity of Gox, we never would have seen the interest in BTC, nor the uptick price of BTC. If you didn't trade on Gox, it's more than likely you didn't have any money to be in the market in the first place, so please spare us. I lost $2.5k… life goes on. It would be nice if I could get it back, but it won't affect my life if I never see it again.

For now, I am staying out of BTC. I really like the idea, but it looks to me like the powers-that-be coupled with the scammers will never let BTC flourish as a mainstream currency.

At the very least, it was an exciting ride and fun while it lasted.
