I'm in two minds about this. He may be keeping the exchange running in the hope that it will eventually rise again, and he can repay everyone (good)... or he may be keeping it running solely to earn some extra bread and butter (not so good)

At least he didn't do a "this is stressing me too much, fuck your lost BTC, I am out" job like the guy from pmtocoins.

at least there still a chance to get back 20% of gox funds thanks to the 200k btc mysteriously found, will kumala ever find somewhere the 100k ltc which are still unaccounted for?
REMEMBER: he never told WHEN and HOW he lost these 100k ltc in 2014. (only 25k ltc were missing in 2013).

I'm a small change loser compared to many. I think the total loss or "frozen funds" is in the millions of dollars. I have received absolutely squat in repayment. Its pretty obvious vircurex has no intentions of making restitution. The "frozen funds" story is just a smoke screen for the theft they really committed.

I suspect some of the big losers will track down vircurex owners. I wouldn't want to go through life looking over my shoulder constantly.

Kumala, answer to the community of depositors: where are those 100k ltc? who got them and when?

I know I'm not "big fish" but in the last days I made transactions like nothing has happened...

I moved in some DODGE, NMC, LTC and TRC
and moved out the resulting 0.32 BTC

I also have my 18 satoshi    (0.00000018 BTC)    Returned from reserved funds and withdrawn with the rest.

Kumala is not telling us when and how over 100k litecoin disappeared from the exchange in 2014. ASK HIM to TELL US HOW that happened! bomb him with emails:

customerservice@vircurex.com

also, the exchange is slowly dying, someday it doesn't even make more than 1 btc volume. that's what he wanted, let it die slowly, in the meantime people forget, there will be no lawsuit and he will get away with it.

Vircurex is dead, he saw what Mark did on Gox and figured well if it worked for him why not me? I lost 14B trading out of Vircurex. I had 600 LTC transferred into my Vircurex account hours prior to him announcing the lockdown. All of the what ifs, maybes, and other attempts are not going to happen. Making it look like he was stolen from, and pleading with the community to give him a "fair" chance to pay people back with trading fees was a bullshit attempt at trying to make himself look like he's not the bad guy.

It's over guys, we all got screwed, it's our own fault for trusting yet another exchange with a shady past and no transparency.

I know this reply is old, but you could've done what me and others did. Transfer it to another currency, (I personally transferred all mine to NMC) and then another exchange. They were only freezing three currencies, so it was a pretty good win when NMC traded higher on Cryptsy than Virc.

I didn't lose a dime to them.

maybe some people are trying to get out of btc (which disappeared once again) buying alts (as it happened on the 24th of march). certainly it's fishy.

is it KUMALA wasting BTC to generate volumes and get interest on his exchange? why don't give back some coins to the rightful owners instead? someone paid over 100% on ppc, dvc, nmc, almost 100% on ltc! what da fuck!

FWIW, frozen LTC balance is still frozen.

The whole 'top-down-bottom-up' payout was bollocks from the start. It allowed him to ensure those with the biggest balances could get out, meaning he'd be less likely to face the wrath of people with power, and a multitude of dust accounts could get their fractions out, ensuring that he could then claim X thousand of accounts being paid back.

The rest of us with reasonably small amount of holdings are the ones being screwed in this situation.

At least Busoni spread the loss across the board with Poloniex and each user could choose whether or not to dismiss the debt.

the frozen coins are frozen and they will stay so almost forever unless vircurex starts generate 200 btc volumes per day! today there was unusual volume (50 btc) with some idiot paying up huge premium over dvc, ppc, ltc, nmc, which makes me thing btc withdrawals are not working so someone is paying up to get out once again as everybody did in march.

I tested that out last night by selling 2500 DVC. No funds were frozen and the 260,000 DVC deposit and withdrawals went smoothly.

If they are in China / Asia, then why are the buy/sell timestamps showing UTC -08:00 Pacific ?
