You know i am not positive but ive been running 5 erupters on a hub and its been happy as can be. There again i have all my mining stuff on APC-UPS so i dont get that much dirty power. I am sure that helps alittle.

What do you mean plugged into?

I just looked, my 3 D-links have 4 plugged into them.

What do i mean "plugged into"? *looks around for a chicken* Ok, it seems that Hub success is part Voodoo. Seriously, I'm a software guy, when i was working i always EEs to figure out the hardware "whys" for me. But anyway, it has been my experience that if a Hub is plugged into a low power port it has trouble supporting the number of erupters that the Hub power brick would lead you to believe it can support. i think it is depending on the port it is plugged into to supply it some power, or some of it's power is leaking back into the low power port. Even if the port is on the computer. My Netbook can only run one Erupter, a second one will turn off the computer. The symptom of low power to the USB is that it is seen by cgminer but there are comunication errors and unrecognised device. Sometimes they may start out working but after awhile you get green lights and Zombies. In some cases unplugging and the plugging them back in will get them back. if not then there isn't enough power.

I'm no expert, but having 76 erupters has given me a bit of experience.

How much for a BLUE one ?

I still have one spot free on my 10th Anker hub.

It's getting pretty bad when the Anker people recognize me by name - "Dear xxxxxxx, we see you just bought ANOTHER Anker hub.  As always, thank you for the purchase, and please let us know if you have any problems with it...."

If you have 10 silver, I'll trade you 10 blue.  Silver is the only color I don't have but I have 20 blue.  It's kind of ridiculous shipping these, lol.  But you know, nothing about these little sticks makes much sense.  Smiley

You mean the luck that is still positive so far this difficulty?  Our luck has been +\- 2% for the past 4 or 5 difficulty periods. You can't really get much closer to neutral outside of PPS.

The red/green numbers are an average per 10 shifts, starting with the most recent.  The "important" number is the one above all those which gives you the average luck since the difficulty changed.  Neither mean much though since luck can only show you what happened already, it has no effect on future payments, and the luck across the whole difficulty swings up/down quickly during the first few days.

FYI: You can't just average all the %s together since the last red/green number is normally only a few shifts worth of data. Just take the black number directly above.

*takes the black number, holds it high above his head for everyone to see, before putting it down gently on a small plinth for others to see later*

I've had good success with cheap hubs powered by the computer PS. So I guess it's as Tim Allen always sez 'MORE POWER' Smiley
