You can estimate it by looking at how many blocks are required to do a bit more than beat the PPS rate.
It looks to be a little bit more than 12.

seems last jump was a big dent in the payout percentagewise

last week seems like the golden days compared to this diff

EU-Stratum?  It looks like the DC out there is having some packet loss at the moment (doesn't seem to be related to any kind of attack).

Then it sounds like a local problem.  All the US servers are still running solid.

As my relative return goes down due to inreased hashrates, i find myself shrinking the size of my payout to maintain approximately the same frequency of payouts. My question is, is this going to cost me more in transaction fees when the time comes to spend my BTCs due to the need to consolidate multiple small payments? Huh
Depends on their amout. It's possible that you'll be able to spend them for free.
Currently to be spent without fees, an output of 1 BTC needs to have about 144 confirmations. For 0.1 BTC output it's 1440 confirms.
So, eventually (almost) any output can be spent for free, you just need to wait.

Can anyone give me a quick hint here? I'm trying to connect 48 block erupters distributed on 6 USB hubs on a single rig and BFGMiner doesn't load, just gets stuck at showing me the version number.

I've gotten rid of 1 of 2 rigs, so all worked well before with the settings below but now maybe there are too many devices?

C:\bit\b06\bfgminer.exe -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u XXXX.XXXX3 -p ******* -S all --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100

This argument worked well for upto 25 block erupters, never before have I tried 48 on one machine.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a few question...

How do you have it wired? How many usb ports is PC using? Do you have USB 2.0 or 3.0? What type of hubs are you using? Do you have enough power?

Latest version of BFGMiner. All COM Ports are visible.

I have a few question...

How do you have it wired? How many usb ports is PC using? Do you have USB 2.0 or 3.0? What type of hubs are you using? Do you have enough power?
6 USB 3.0 ports connected directly to the motherboard. 2 of them are on USB 2.0 ports on the board. They are all Orico 10 port with 4 amp power supply. All recognized too. USB 2.0 on my previously (identical) rig worked fine.

Additional question. How can I run 2 instances of BFGMiner, 1 running a BFL single and other running 25 block erupters? If I can't figure out getting all of them to work on one machine, then I can try to figure out how to get BFL and block erupters to behave on a separate machine.

I have a similar setup with 45 Erupters.  Three things are key to get it working with latest BFGMiner:

1. Use a central USB 2 hub to connect all the Anker/Orico/AITech hubs (they're all the same) to your computer.  For some reason connecting all the hubs separately is a problem.  Using a central USB2 powered hub (yes, it has to be USB2 for some reason) with one cable to your computer and then multiple to the USB3 hubs works.

2. Whenever you need to restart your BFGMiner instance, pull the main USB cable from the central hub to the computer and reattach after a minute to have the computer re-initialize the Block Erupters. Then start up BFGMiner again. This works for me everytime (though sometimes I have to reboot the USB3 hubs individually too if a few BE's hang).

3. Use -S erupter:all instead of all the old Icarus settings.  More consistent and works better than the old Icarus timings. You can use -S multiple times in the startup line so it's better to list out your devices instead of the catch-all -S all which could potentially trip up on any USB/serial devices like Bluetooth interfaces. If you want to go the multiple instance route, one can startup with an -S setting for the Erupters and the other with a setting for the BFL unit.

hmm maybe i should recheck my config. im running 54 erupters + lightcoin mining on one rig and its ticking along fine. with the  standard

Quote
./bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u myuser -p 123 -S all --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100

BUT like the saying goes "if it aint broke dont fix it"

O and thats 6 anker 9+1 hubs.

3 pluged into 1 anker 4-port hub
and the same for the other 3.

if i restart the computer i have to shutdown and restart bfgminer manually to get it to register all 54 erupters. Im debaiting on getting more.... hmmmm

It "was" standard before Luke builtin direct support with diff timing for Erupters.  -S erupter:all is standard now, though the more generic Icarus settings would still work.

Easy enough to swap in the new settings for a bit and swap back if you don't like it Wink

Use CGMiner 3.1.1 so you don't have to continually restart your miner.  I've left mine on for about a month now, no restarts, no drops, nothing going wrong.  Works great, but you have to use the -S //./COM for each erupter...

Yeah, that's great advice.  Shame it's bollocks.   Roll Eyes

BFGMiner is WAY better for running the Block Erupters than an ancient version of CGMiner.

BFG has been running just shy of 9 days on Windows, and that was when I upgraded to the latest version.  Previous version was running for weeks.  This is on a Windows 8 machine that's regularly used, too.

How is BFGMiner "way" better?  Getting more than 333mh/s per miner?  3.1.1 works just fine days on end with 333mh/s per miner.  If you're getting 400mh/s, then I could see "way", otherwise sounds like a fan boy comment to me.

I'm using 3.2.2 on one of my rigs with 35 USBs, runs fine. Uses a bit more CPU time than I'd like, but i believe in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I've never used BFGminer and don't see any need to.

You can estimate it by looking at how many blocks are required to do a bit more than beat the PPS rate.
It looks to be a little bit more than 12.

Umm  what happened?

As soon as we started to find a lot of blocks the payment got slashed??  Is our Pool Speed getting messed with? (big jumps in and out?)

from last night:

11217 14 0.00000009320013  2013-10-17 09:08:41 PM

then a few hours later???

11224 14 0.00000008179816 2013-10-18 02:06:11 AM

11225 14 0.00000007990530 2013-10-18 02:54:12 AM

11226 14 0.00000007905769 2013-10-18 03:42:11 AM

That is a major nosedive..  looks like everyone is going to jump to PPS if we need 15 blocks in a shift to breakeven with PPLNS
