was this necessary to do, basically without notice?  if the issue was with bfgminer wouldn't it be the responsibility of those that run it to revert to a previous version or change from the default - rather than bounce all miners?

If there was any actual downtime expected, a 24h+ window would have been provided.  For properly working miner configurations/hardware, the restart was virtually transparent.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

in hindsight it was more of personal issue for me getting upset due to the to Luke-jr/bfgminer connection - sending some hashes to ghash.io didn't help either.

thanks for your continued efforts keeping btcguild the best managed/performing pool out there.

What do I have to do to gain private server access? I have PMed eleuthria, but have not got any response yet. Do I have to qualify somehow, or anything? Are there any requirements?

Thanks.

You need a large farm to gain private server access, where "large" is defined by eleuthria. I suspect you would need to be running several TH to quality.

Is 15 TH/s enough to qualify?

If you have 15 Th/s and put it on the pool, it will notify you for private server information.  I don't respond to private server requests over the forum because of how many times it has been hacked.

So just to be clear, you have a notification set up that when user reached x amount of power that it notifies you of the servers availability ?

I know I asked this once before but don't recall your answer but what if any are the benefits to gaining access ?

To be decided...

It's a variable speed requirement based on recent hash rate (both user and pool).  The private servers are isolated from public servers for DDoS protection.  Similar to how during the last major attack, users were receiving notifications of alternate DNS that pointed to "semi-private" servers, except these are given out in advance to high hash rate users.

Once your in do you stay in ?

Ex. Pool hash continues to grow while the user adds occasional extra hash.

Sounds good. If I do not receive the notification, will ask you in PM again.

Once they've been notified of the private pool they are able to use it indefinitely.  It's purely a barrier to entry in order to keep it from becoming too public and forcing me to make the "Super Elite Invitation Only" Private Server.

A few withdrawals failed this morning because a user kept an obscenely high balance and withdrew it all at once, emptying the hot wallet.  It's being refilled now and the failed withdrawals will be pushed through.

A brief (2 hours or less hopefully) maintenance is happening on the hot wallet due to today's failed payouts.  There is an unconfirmed payout that is "stuck" currently, attempting to be done twice.  The hot wallet is being rebuilt which will correct the issue.  The concern is if another payout is prepared that uses the stuck transaction as one of its inputs, it could cause a chain of transactions which may never confirm.

Another post will be made when the maintenance is complete.  This maintenance has no effects on the pool's block solve rate (the mining servers have zero communication with the wallet server).

Today's luck is abysmal, Ghash is at 50%, and price of BTC fell.  Today is not a good day. Sad

Put something in my tip jar if I made your day. Smiley

The site is showing some odd data  RE: orphaned blocks at the moment due to a rescan happening on the hot wallet server.  Will fix itself once the rescan is complete.

It looks like that. The Eligius-attacker is seems to be attacking BTCGuild at the moment.

No, they're not.  The "Eligius attacker" is the one that dragged BTC Guild down from April to May 7th.  They were a problem for Eligius before that period, and on and off in April - May 7th.   They have since fixed their hardware, which all signs point to being a bug they were NOT aware of at the time, based on the communication with them.  Within 48 hours of their accounts being frozen in May, they were back and submitting blocks.  Since that time, they have been submitting blocks within expectation.

Today's luck is the result of 4 poor rounds in relatively quick succession.  2x 4-hour, 1x 5-hour, 1x 3 hour blocks within the same 24 hour period.  The other blocks found during the day were roughly neutral (45m - 2h).  We just didn't get any quick bursts to offset the long ones.
