Armis, I still feel the name of the committee should change the name to be a bit less confusing for our supporters. That is primarily because "EMC2" IS Einsteinium and there is already the "Einsteinium Foundation". If you would like some suggestions on a new name for the community effort I could help out.

I agree.. they usually call that kind of group an Advisory board or something similar.

most governments around the world have Executive and Legislative branches.
most large companies have something similar, a Board of directors a Shareholder advocacy/activist group.

it seems like that is what we are aiming for here so lets make the naming clear and easy for people to understand.

Alphi  and ahumanbeingx

1) The EMC2 Foundation is a foundation created by the owners of EMC2 for the EMC2 investor community
2) The EMC2 Foundation has a duly elected board birthed from the community.  An election noticed to the community for participation.
3) The EMC2 Foundation reserves the right to name itself, if either of you want to head up a 'EMC2 renaming committee' you are invited to apply for chairmanship of that committee.   If you do, here's my suggestion for the new name, "The NEW Foundation"
4) The foundation names have nothing to do with the devaluation of EMC2 over the past two months, however the efforts of The EMC2 Foundation (aka The NEW Foundation) has put a halt to the nose dive.   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7222101#msg7222101  Gone is the day of 68 sat EMC2, gone is the day of 80 sat high for the day, and gone is the day of .662 whole day volume.

Improving the value of EMC2 is what The EMC2 Foundation is primarily about, both of you are invited to play a critical role in the success of EMC2.

The NEW Foundation has assumed most of the heavy lifting tasks (preservation and increase of EMC2 value) of the old foundation, allowing the old foundation to focus its energies on the light lifting tasks of: automatic tax collecting, shopping for projects to fund, and spending money.   Sadly the old foundation is behind in shopping for projects and  spending money, but does have the time to critic names.

The EMC2 Foundation is days old with a record of success, we are identifying issues of major concern to the EMC2 community, we are prioritizing those concerns based on a core objective -- to strengthen EMC2's value, and we are doing the things necessary to achieve our objectives.

Again, I extend to both of you a personal invitation to play a pivotal role in the NEW successes that are forthcoming for EMC2.

1.) The EMC2 Foundation (not the Einsteinium Foundation) was not created by the owners of EMC2 but by these members of Bitcointalk.org - Oldminer, djnocide, iru786, mdtspain. This was done in a manner that really concerns me.
First nomination was by Oldminer for you to be president  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7203779#msg7203779
Second nomination was by djnocide - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7205604#msg7205604
Third was endorsement and acceptance of nominations by oldminer - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7206387#msg7206387
Fourth you acceptance for the position of president - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7206828#msg7206828
Fifth was iru786 with his nominations - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7208605#msg7208605
Sixth was mdtspain accepting his nomination - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7208793#msg7208793
Seventh ottobene did not accept his nomination - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7210445#msg7210445

The nominations period lasted from June 07, 2014, 04:51:37 AM to June 09, 2014, 08:37:23 AM
First with your post - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7181785#msg7181785
Then with djonicide post - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7217076#msg7217076

Emc2 brought up concerns over the nomination period being only two days - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7218829#msg7218829

Djonocide responded that "An other election will be called after the first steps are made." - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg7221434#msg7221434

You responded "Although it is not a high priority item (meaning not relevant to market value) the board will likely schedule the creation of bylaws for some later time period."

This not an accurate representation of the owners of EMC2. There was no vote only nominations. I understand the need for immediate action but I do not believe this is the best way get community support for the EMC2 Foundation.

2.) The EMC2 Foundation had no vote. How was the board duly elected or properly elected?

3.) So you would like the EMC2 Foundation who is not a legitimate or duly elected foundation to create a committee to rename itself. This does not make sense to me can you please explain how a Foundation that has no legal standing or has no community support has to create a committee to name itself?
Perhaps I am misperceiving things but calling the EMC2 foundation "The NEW Foundation" seems hostile towards the legal NPO The Einsteinium Foundation. What is you goal and reasoning to name The EMC2 Foundation "The NEW Foundation"?

4.) What is the heavy lifting tasks that you are doing specifically? How are you increasing the EMC2 Value? What proof do you have that the EMC2 Foundation has a record of success?

Thank you for your time

Community, let's start hearing some new ideas on how we can donate to science without cashing out EMC2 on the exchanges. I'd like to make this a top priority so I can start looking for the talent to put a new system in place. Donating to science is the #1 reason to use EMC2.

Essokinesis:

~93% of EMC2's value was lost in 2 months at the hands of The Einsteinium Foundation, over that time it was clear to many (perhaps even to many within that foundation) that they didn't know what they needed to know to get EMC2 going in the right direction.

The nose dive stopped when The EMC2 Foundation election results were certified.   EMC2 market value started its climb as The EMC2 Foundation was forming, I don't see that as coincidental.

I realize that you are aligned with The Einsteinium Foundation as one of the ops at the #EinsteiniumFoundation IRC Channel, so I expect you to be zealous in their defense,  however do you want to go back to the nose-dive state we were in?

Your relentless push to have EMC2 owners move from this forum to IRC likely contributed to the dilution of interest in the coin and the accelerated devaluation of the coin in those last days.  The same rational applies to EMC2 being on so many exchanges, the volume simply dosen't warrant it, the dilution of interests hurt the coin.   Sometimes too much is too much.

First off, my official mandated duty is oversee all things EMC2. As of right now, the value of EMC2 is too low to cash out on the markets and spend "money". I am however willing to offer bounties for new objectives which I though it what your board was supposed to be voting on. Where is your meeting place to become "elected"? Where do your discussions and voting take place? Also, being lead of the foundation and coin, I will mandate myself for official duties. What promises were made? Thanks Armis.

ahumanbeingx, is there any particular reason you didnt put yourself forward for a position on the board while the elections were still open?

Secondly, in view of the fact the value of EMC2 plummeted under the 'leadership' of the old foundation (of which you were a member), I'm curious as to how you being a member of the new foundation would be in the interests of EMC2 (ignoring the fact you hold some of the original pre-mine)?

Unfortunately you have provided no proof that EMC2 market value has anything to do with The EMC2 Foundation.  You have also not answered any of my other questions. I support this coin and what it stands for, donation to scientific research. I understand you are upset with the Einsteinium Foundation members but aligning me with them and resorting to blaming me for the devaluation of this coin is not the way to help the community or prove your leadership skills with EMC2 Foundation. I had legitimate questions about the EMC2 Foundation and concerns about the future plan for Einsteinium. I really wish you could have addressed them. My relentless push as you called it consisted of these posts.

Two were to get people tips in the IRC channel.
One was about trying to grow the IRC channel.
One was about getting discussion to the Foundation Members who were in the IRC at the time.
One was to help someone with their wallet.

If you want you can look at my post history and see that I only have 10 posts. The others consisted of 1 question about ECAP. 1 question about EMC2 Foundation. Two in a different thread. And this post right here.

#1. The "Elections" for ECAP or the new community foundation effort were never officially sponsored for the creators of EMC2. Also, the election process took place over a few days at a point that I was out travelling.

#2. The value plummeted because of big money holders cashing out due to the slander of ex-team member. Other members who felt closer with Science instead of cryptoGames decided not to keep playing along. I am now stepping up from an extremely minimal role in the coin to usher in some new changes, updates, and systems of donation. I've also began to boost the price on poloniex with small buy walls which is why the value has began to rise over the past week. I've now pulled that buy support to see what effect the community effort is having.

#3. There is no pre-mine.

 Shocked

hey guys , you never buy under 80sat at mintpal, dont try to break, if break , i add more dont forget.

I may create more buy support between 90 - 100 soon just to keep things active and pickup cheap coins from dumpers. Other than that, my focus has been on adding some community supported features and tools before putting all my efforts into a new system for donating to science.

first we support to pirce up, than stable the price over 400sat and than we donate science projects, but not with emc2 coin  just pay by dollar.

i can do thiss. community and devs are not interesting me. i love this coin, and i can buy %25 of coin supply, let them sell, at these cheap prices. dont make anything, i am just collecting Smiley

Sir, I am the lead dev and I am very interested in what you have to say. Please PM me and we will talk details.

Do you guys realize that the little power fight you are having right now is doing more harm than good to this coin you care about?? Why don't you realize that the more you'll be doing this the closer you'll bring this coin to his death. The second foundation was created to bring solutions to a sinking coin that we want to succeed. Why can't both foundation work on their side but still talk to each other to find the best way to put emc2 back on it's feet?. It looks like 12yrs old arguing. Nothing good for the coin.

Anyone is welcomed to bring solutions to help the coin. If you can't grow up and show some maturity, you'll be the reason why emc2 will die. You got 2 options. It can happen to disagree with others on a lot of things but right now we have to put this aside and work together.

So are we starting to work on the revival of emc2 or we let it die from internal fights?

Very much agreed, that's I'm trying get some clear facts and answers so we can move forward with real plans and strategy. We really need to decide on an algorithm switch and a new system for scientific donation, that is what is most important at this stage.

My views about their community effort changing its name is warranted from all the confusion I've been receiving. If it were up to me I would merge and market both entities as one. Otherwise there will be a separate route taken.

djnocide, to answer your question from the PM.. It would not be too difficult to change algorithms at this point. I will be setting up some kind of poling option soon to see where everyone stands. Personally, I'm split between x11, x13, and pure PoS. The other options will also be listed in the poll which I will post within the next hours when I get back home.

Thanks for the reply, let's all work in the same direction. Let's bring this coin back up.

I think that multi algo could be a good option since no algo will have 100% of the vote in the community. We could get 5 algos that are not run by asics right now so more people could mine it the way they want. It keeps the security of the network and bring a good feature to the coin. We need people to say what they want to happen to this coin.

Post your ideas and solutions. We need to know what you're thinking guys  Cheesy

Do you all think that minning with graphic cards still has a future? Or will we need to change the algo again after 6 months?

That's the reason i'm bringing multi algo as a solution, i don't think we will have asics for 5 algos in 6 months. Maybe for one algo but not five so it will still be available for anyone to mine and not only the early adopters. CC was created to be decentralize and to let anyone access it easily.

I am strongly against changing the algorithm.

ASIC's believe it or not are a good thing. They are needed to secure the blockchain. This is what happened with Bitcoin and it was its intention all along. This is a strong advantage scrypt coins now also have over other algorithms that cant currently be ASIC-secured, and are currently open to attack. We should be grateful EMC2 can defend itself with an ASIC-secured network - lets embrace that fact & move forward with it. Changing the algorithm would be a huge step backwards.

If you like my post please feel free to give me some positive rep https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=18639

it is naive to think that X11 ASICS are not already being developed.
once they are developed then any coin using any of the 11 X11 PoW algorithms will be able to be mined with those chips.

if you want to run from ASICs you need to adopt a PoW system that is not already being used by any of the high market cap coins.

this is why it has always been my view that running from ASICs is futile.

CPU to GPU to FPGA to ASIC is the natural progression of IC engineering.

it is completely irrational for a coin fundamentally designed for the purpose of funding scientific research to run from the results of Research and Development.. ie ASICs.

furthermore it is irrational for a person who believes in evolution to fear the evolution of engineering and technology.

True but i still think that their's a way to give a chance to anyone to mine a coin. We need to give the opportunity to everyone to be part of this. On a multi algo, you can get sha-256 and scrypt with asics, x11 with fpgas and 2 others algo that are only gpus right now. Everyone can get their share.

Maybe their's better option, i want to know want everyone think. On one side a agree with those in favor of asics in the network and on the other side i agree with those who say we need to keep the mining available to everyone.  Undecided

I am also against changing to a different algo.

In my opinion a POS system can be a good solution, it will stop the dumping from the miners so that the value can rise again. Because of the low volume on this moment on the exchanges, a little dump from a miner can influence the price.
