The Bad News is we tested the new EMC2 wallet gifted to the community by Ryan, here is the two-party review:

First Reviewer
Block explorer: lacks information, don't know why but it's not very useful.  You can get info on the block number (height, hash, merkle, nNonce, nBits, Timestamps, difficulty, Hashrate) or a txid (txid, value out, fees, outputs and inputs) both ouptuts and inputs return fail.  I think it's not worth it to have one like the one included in the v2.0. If we had one we should have a complete one.
Social: it link to the irc channel, lack finition. It looks like is was put together fast and no one took the time to check if it was ok. Not really worth it.
Beside the looks, the V2.0 is not really worth it, as i see it. Can we build on it later to get something better? i think so. Right now we better stay with the v1.0 and when we have time, look for someone to build a better one.
... When i say "not worth it", it means that, giving it to the community won't shows that we are serious since the addition aren't working properly.

Well we still see the major typo, and yes, as you said the app is out of sync again.   We will contact the site owner again to request the update.

All of the available block explorers for EMC2 are independently owned and controlled, such is the case for many apps provided on behalf of EMC2.   When things are going fine, they are great resources, however when things go wrong we then see the value in having ownership or at least control of these tools.   For now we will continue to communicate with site owners to try to have them provide accurate info about EMC2, thanks again for your vigilance.

We (the new mgmt) are currently reaching out to the owners of http://einsteinium.org/ to ask them to donate the site and or domain to
the coin, or to allow the foundation to manage it.  We have not received a response to any of our inquires.  

At this point it is clear to us that they are incommunicado, as such we should consider replacing the site and domain.  Please take the opportunity to express
your thoughts on the matter, and vote your interest.   What do you want us to do:

a) use Einsteinium at the end of some free website address and temporarily use that

Report To The Community


EMC2 Awakening
What a difference a month makes, August saw EMC2 at its historic worse -- 10 sat with nearly non-existent volume.  September ushered in a new team, a new vision, and some brighter days: higher market values, increased volume, and some cautious optimism.   If August represented EMC2's near death experience September represented her resuscitation and rehabilitation, this was the month in which she went from 25 sat to 140 sat (a defibrillation), down to a stable daily avg of 60 sat.   Our standing at coinmarketcap.com moved from ~191 to ~171.  

In the new month, we (mgmt and volunteers) endeavor to produce higher EMC2 brand awareness, higher coin utility, higher market values, higher trade volumes, and higher market cap rankings,



EMC2 Protection
Last week's mean dip did not have to happen.  

The 30% (68 sat to 48 sat) fall is easy to see, the damage scared the coin for the rest of the week.  Folks, EMC2 just got out of a deep coma, it really hurts the coin when things like this occur.  If you see unusually low rates some seller is hurting himself, and may possibly be trying to hurt the community as well.

If the Guardian program was enlisted that massive drop would have easily been cut in half.  On that day any sales below 54 sat should have been offered to the Guardians, they likely would have offered more than what the coin actually sold for, more importantly the transaction would not have negatively effected the public market.  

When EMC2 has a combined daily avg vol of 5 btc small dips like that in isolated markets will have very little effect, but in the coin's current fragile state it is just too weak to withstand the influence.  Please don't panic sell, if you feel you must sell contact the Guardians so that the community can remain protected.



EMC2 Relationships
We recently opened an account with TitanBIT, we will do a comprehensive review.  If all is well we will present them to the community for consideration to be the official exchange of EMC2.

As you will see here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=791247.0  we are reaching out to other 'cause coins' in hopes of partnering for a purpose.   Co-sponsorship of science fairs with Gridcoin is the most promising event prospect so far.

EMC2 Revenue
There is a long list of things we want to do for EMC2, much of it needs funding,  since the 2.5% mining tax does not include coin care or maintenance we must find income streams.  The first two expected income streams are: advertising revenue from emc2foundation.org the new site the community recently voted on; and the store donation of 40% of paid fees generated at einsteinium.biz.  A major source of revenue will be though crowdfunding.  We will also seek donations from others outside of our community.  



EMC2 Utility
EMC2 is a currency its strength and longevity rests in its usage -- the more it is used as a currency the stronger it will be and the longer it will last.  

Having EMC2 recognized as a currency by stores is an uphill battle, the first battle will be won when einsteinium.biz is open for 'biz', a major battle will be won when EMC2 is recognized by coinpayments.net.  

Coinpayment.net is the payment processor for hundreds of online stores, once EMC2 is on their list of currencies EMC2 can be used at hundreds of online stores.  Coinpayment.net requires community participation in order for the coin to be nominated, once nominated it requires additional community participation to have the coin voted onto the list -- they deliberately created the system in a way that requires community wide participation, low-level participation won't be sufficient.



EMC2 Volunteers
Our plan relies heavily on productive volunteers, we are asking each EMC2 owner to contributed 4 hours a week to advance some of our specific projects.  We believe sustained  growth will be visible at the point at which we have at least 10 volunteers.   With that said we are pleased to announce our first two volunteers: dan_and_shan, and BotwinBG.

This is a great suggestion that should not wait for us to fund it alone we must seek strategic partners and do what we can to aid in research, awareness, and or education.   As I see it the only thing hindering us from going forward are the human resources to forward the action.  

We have already reached out to four other coins regarding this issue, as a direct result of our PM, they await our response to know if EMC2 will take the lead.  If we take the lead they of course would want to know in what capacity they would be expected to contribute.  We will want currency as well as campaign support, meaning they retweeet and use other social media (facebook, IRC, reddit, etc ...) to broadcast the ongoing message.  

In addition to the good it will do for the cause, it will also provide some positive exposure for the coins involved with the effort, we know that various media inside and outside of the cryptocurrency community will want to pick-up the story.  

If you are willing to be the EMC2 point person for this project I will give you all of the guidance you will need to make the campaign a success.  

A budget of 100,000,000 coins from each CC, and minimum $100,000. from a crowdfunding campaign with a time budget of 1 month, it can work.

Cause Coins Called To Join Forces To Fight Ebola

Ebola is a growing concern around the world, in response some cryptocurrency communities are considering cooperative involvement.  

Leadership of the Einsteinium Foundation, a non-profit org for EMC2 coin, is calling on cause coins: worldaidcoin, gridcoin, aidbit, educoin, charitycoin, and carecoin, to consider a joint initiative to address the Ebola outbreak.  

Einsteinium's mission is to provide grants to advance scientific research, education, and development, due to the magnitude of the Ebola project they are seeking strategic partners for greater impact.  The strategic partners would be expected to provide leadership, volunteers, and currency.  An exploratory committee made up of representatives of each of the involved cause coin will determine if they move forward to take on the project and if so the scope of the project, what the respective communities could be expected to responsibly pledge, and the best way to address the goals of the project.   Einsteinium has already indicated that if a joint partnership is formed it will pledge 1 million EMC2 coins for the cause.

A responsible response to the epidemic is scientific research to find a cure, public awareness to let the public know how to deal with the disease, from prevention, to proper identification, to containment, to clean-up, to follow-up; and for academic education (as opposed to public awareness) on the grad, and post grad levels.

We have been able to locate a temporary block explorer for EMC2 located here http://minemanic.com/emc2/index.php however we are also looking at bringing this one http://chain.einsteinium.org/chain/Einsteinium back online. As regards EMC2 new leadership, we are still to some degree 'feeling our way' around and we only stumbled across this explorer today. The good thing about this is its already running off einsteinium.org domain (which we have access to), albeit it has stalled as of 7 Sept. Hopefully it is simply a matter of a restart of a server or service to get this operational once again. Regardless which explorer we go with at the end of the day, we will add the titanbit.net logo with a link to your site once complete. Armis will reference this in more detail in the next report to the community.

Our dilemma is, of the 143M EMC2 currently available, less than 5% of the supply is available for sale in the public market, and only about 1% is publicly exchanged each day.

Could it be that 95% of EMC2 owners love the coin so much that they don't want to part with it? -- nah, that's not it.
It's probably more like, 95% of EMC2 owners believe the current market value is far too low to sell now so they rather wait for it to go up in the near future.

The question then becomes: "What needs to take place to cause the rate/price to rise in the near future?"
We we actually have a viable action plan to cause the market rate for EMC2 to rise but it requires volunteers to make it work; without the volunteers there is no action, without the action, the 'action plan' is just a plan.

The longer it takes for us to put our plans into action the longer it takes to get market rates to levels where 95% of EMC2 owners love the coin so much they don't want to part with it.
