With this, Ehereum had many advantages over other cryptocurrency ,including bitcoin.You can buy full 1 ETH with investment of  255$. But to buy full bitcoin,you need to inverse 8200$. From my knowledge ,if you buy full coin.You will get more profit then a percentage of it.
As compare to other altcoin, ETH will be the better option. Because now a days many worthless coins with good name is get into market. Instead of get into unknown path,you can get into known path

I think everything depends on the capital you have when you have large capital invest in bitcoin, ethereum and bitcoin cash because the three coins look good for long and short term investment and when you have small capital invest in an altcoin cheap and has the potential to go up
