I spotted this on the #occupylondon twitter feed. The last sentence suggests Bitcoin. If it is about Bitcoin is this the right way to get people involved. Just sending out a link to bitcoin.org with download instructions for the client will have everyone scratching their heads thinking WTF?

And so it begins...

Join us in directly trading with each other, without using the UNTRUSTED THIRD PARTIES who fleece all at every play and turn, called 'The Banks', leaving the people with nothing but worthless paper money, being devalued at every play and turn by the banksters' conscious choice and  thus DESIGN.

Well, we the people can design stuff, too. Wink  And those that cannot design stuff, can download stuff, easy enough ...   So why not join us especially if this is your first visit & Occupy The Banks with us on 5th November 2011!!

https://groups.google.com/group/occupythebanks/subscribe

Full instructions will be sent on the FIFTH NOVEMBER 2011 to download, install & use open-source software that allows the people to skip out on the banks; before the banks skip off with more of your cash!  It's time ... to turn our computers into our banks Wink

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

This has to be about bitcoin. As to the question 'is this the right way to get people involved', well, if it works, then yes.

I think the 'occupy' people should be targeting the bank anyway as i don't personally see trading as a bad thing, as long as its your money and you don't expect other people (the tax payer) to bail you out when it all go's wrong.

What do the 'occupy' people think about bitcoin anyway?

To them, are we just another example of greed, or do they see us as soldiers of the rebellion?

Uh, this is not part of any movement. 1,249 hits since they started. And the site has a video with David Icke, who thinks the British royal family are reptilian extraterrestrials.  Undecided

Ya think now that Wagner's out of the picture a little, we could try not to choose someone even more f*cking embarrassingly ridiculous as a spokesperson?
