Why are most new tokens Ethereum ICOs?

I think most token are erc20 because the ease of setting up, the cost and also due to maintenance in case of changing of smart contract. One thing that I have also noticed that only few ICO consider the benefit of the blockchain technology to be adopted and the project they intend to use the technology for. For instance ICO like Dominium is adopting Ardor blockchain which is built on Nxt blockchain thereby exploiting the benefit of Nxt blockchain through Ardor. Not only this, Dominium is using ardor child chain which is developed to suit business such as real estate which is the major aim of dominium. such project choose Ardor blockchain over ethereum because they consider it appropriate for the type of platform they want to develop.

The reason for this is that it is very easy for you to make your own coin using the ethereum platform and network and the smart contracts of ethereum are very easy to get so people are more inclined to use that since it means less work for them.
