Like what I've said on the question, for me it will be helpful for everyone to have an live conversation to anyone in the forum like a group chat in case of time's that the forum has a problem.

Lets say for example a group chat on telegram or even a social media group, where you can ask other forum members on whats happening in the forum.

For example: the last 3 hours forum ERROR
I think on the past 3 hours almost everyone encounter this problem and some of us are blind on what is happening.

If we have a group chat or social media group, everyone can be updated in a snap when there's a forum problem.

I know there will be some problem about the idea like:
1. spam on the said group chat
2. repetitive question
and so on...

But I think there will be a better community in here if we have this.

In some way this idea might decrease the spam question posted in this forum by whenever there is a legitimate newbie user and he is a member of the group he can ask on the group some of his/her question and get an answer immediately.

For me the best option for this idea will be a telegram group because:
1. It can hide everybodies privacy
2. There will be a quick response for everyone
3. Everyone can be updated instantly
4. Everyone can still talk and ask even the forum has problem

What do you guys think about this idea?
It would be better if the group will be manage by a strict moderator and most of the high rank member here in forum will participate.

It took me about 4 hours to get back to the forum  Embarrassed
If the forum is offline (any attack etc.) then you can not access it, pretty simple  Smiley

@OP I am not sure about others but I would not like a chat feature or hanging out in another channel to discuss about the forum. Individual members can have their own telegram groups if they want however it does not have to be an official.

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

Forum , already have a official twitter handle to update us for all these issues.
https://twitter.com/bitcointalk?lang=en

Theymos , rarely update from there.

I actually check using "http://currentlydown.com/bitcointalk.org"  to check whether site is down for me only or not.

Opening a another social media to discuss looks good to listen but practically I think it will be a spammy idea.

You can see here the discussions related the downtime earlier of the forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4975511.0

If we have a group chat or social media group, everyone can be updated in a snap when there's a forum problem.
If the main purpose of making such group is only when the forum is down or ddos I guess that is unnecessary, you can wait until the forum get back online since you can still access the site some time even there's an attack (depends on the problem I guess) and just visit meta board.

And of course, you can create your telegram group/channel by yourself and then invite people to join there, but some other members here already have their own group in telegram and I don't think if they will join the group especially members like hilariousandco, vod, or any mods since it will give only spam notification to them by joining such.

I dont really have an idea about that twitter of bitcointalk, thanks for the info.

Thats good but for me it will be better if theres a life in a group and everyone can discuss whenever the forum is having a problem.

what if the problem last longer like 1-2 days?

I dont know if this thing happen before but I think its not impossible?

It wouldn't really work without theymos being actively involved and I doubt joining telegram groups is something he will do. As mentioned above, we do have a twitter that is sometimes used to alert people of issues but it's rarely used and hasn't made a tweet since 29 Nov 2017. If you wanted to create a group though then there's nothing stopping you.

There's quite a few private groups out there where certain members have gathered like minded individuals, and made a place to keep in contact other than Bitcointalk. But, in terms of official Bitcointalk news then like hilarious said Twitter is the probably going to be the closest you're going to get to that.

Same as the idea on my mind I know that before I posted this theymos would not agree to join a telegram group but at least I give it a shot Smiley, in this case if I created a group I dont think that many forum members will cooperate but if a reputable forum member will start then there will be a higher chance that most of the forum members will join and cooperate.

Yes there's already a twitter but I think it would be better if theymos also created a facebook group where we can actively interact with each other ask questions whenever there is a problem like that.

I wish theymos will give this idea a shot.

Might be a good Idea... and I think there will be no spams around twitter and we will only have tweets for certain news updates.

If only this would also managed by theymos to keep it updated all the time... but I guess  it won't be happening... He has a lot of important things to do and I think he doezn't have much time as we do.
