The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

How can I buy just a controller by itself?

Unfortunately not - and i wouldn't as well, the controller i have found isn't reliable.

Switch to a Windows box, Linux box with Ubuntu or Debian, or a Raspberry pi

@Alexuk,

I am only interested if they can run on my raspi, because adding them to a computer will at least double the use of electrics which is economical not interesting.

What guarantees can you give me that you have a working raspi image on the 9th?

2nd is there any news on the new firmware which could boost these units all the way up to 500kh/s? Would make a significant difference in the max bid I'm willing to place.

Cheers
EJT

Hello

1) the raspberry pi image ill be supplying initially is the following:

- Raspberry Pi Debian Wheezy image

With

- minerd compiled
- cgminer compiled (maybe)

Ill have videos up that will show itll be working etc.

Ill then work on porting the wiibox code over from the old wiibox controllers.

2) no news on the new firmware yet, however ill ask gridseed

Here is some build instructions if you dont want to wait for the image....

Code:

raspberry pi debian wheezy - minerd installation

apt-get install automake g++ mc libjansson-dev libjansson4 pkg-config libcurl4-openssl-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev

git clone https://github.com/gridseed/usb-miner.git

cd usb-miner/software/cpuminer/

./autogen.sh

./configure

make && make install

Then start minerd with relevant flags - more info on that soon.

That should then make minerd usable... Videos soon.

No, not currently, however you can pick them all up very cheaply on amazon / ebay ... no point paying more for them from someone else, including me Smiley

Also the wiibox controller isnt very good its unstable, flaky, and overpriced... - im going to release a raspberry pi image that will allow you to mine with minerd and cgminer easily Smiley
