Whats the biggest mining motherboard?

Curious to know what is the biggest mining motherboard anyone has seen? And what are the pros and cons?

Well, it's simple.
The more the PCIe slots, the lesser the stability.
Well, you don't want to have downtime with one 19 GPU rig where stability will be a big issue whereas 8-10 GPUs in a rig where the balance between stability and the N.of.(GPUs) is ideal.

I think if mining is better to use a motherboard that is less than 12 PCIe, it will be better

never had any problems with any of my 8-10 or 10+ builds
People have problem most of the times when they have no idea what they doing...

I think if mining is better to use a motherboard that is less than 12 PCIe, it will be better

b) IMO Windows is simply not good for 8+ GPU rigs. Booting and stability problems all the time.

b) built over 50x 12 or 12+ GPU rigs in the past few months for my customers, usually im testing them for a week for stability before giving them out from my hand, all windows based, never ever have any stability or booting problems. VGA Bioses is modded by me , i mean modded not just mem strip copied kinda mod )
Here is the last few build what i have under testing, ETH-11 is a 12 gpu rig running super stable in the past 228 hours:) actually all of my latest build not just the 12 gpu built

d) Heat is a big problem for 12+ GPU rigs. Lots of chassis for such rigs do not have enough spacing between GPUs.

d) with proper air flow, heat can not be a issue, the ambient temp ( actually filtered outside air) in my "home mining server room" is 34.4C right now, that is around 94F , all gpu's mining under 75C core temp, with 28-55% fan speed ... yeah i know.... i installed a new fan in ETH 07 , and the reading is incorrect on one gpu .. it says 99%

If you have a similar type, brand nor almost identical type & brand as shown on xxcsu pics, I agree with xxcsu that's not a big deal with a lot of PCIe slot (if you know what to do).

But that will be different while you have a random type of GPUs (sometimes brand also affect) <=== I experienced on this case (trust me!) I can solve it, but that's not too easy to do (again, Trust me!). 

It depends on you OP, but of those three, I'll choose the last (ASRock H110 Pro BTC+)

The Biggest I know has 19 slots.

And the largest number of video cards is 13 on the same BIOS IIRC (mining cards without video is something else).

But how are the newer bioses for CPUs with a larger number of lanes than 16 (e.g. ThreadRipper)?

The number of physical slots is not important since simple $15 splitters solve that (not counting the reduced MTBF due to more minimal quality items).
I guess that PCI switches (those with $80 switch chips, e.g. the one with 8 USB riser connections) does not increase the number of video cards to the bios.

It would be really interesting if GPUs could be flashed into a "miner card" without video out (from the bios perspective). Then there could be more options for building 10+ card setups.

With only two rigs my experience is limited but it seems like 12 card rigs is a sweetspot when you know how to setup a balanced rig.
Testing you way forward with parts and settings, a 2-4 card rig is much more appropriate.

I tried to use 10 (on Z270P-D3) before i noticed that that mobo did not allow more than 9 (but one GPU got "ROI" by RMA so that solved itself).

Physically the biggest is the Onda DB8 12GPU Motherboard :

It has 12 Physical x16 PCIe slots for mounting gpus on it directly ( all are electrically x1 ofcource).

Otherwise, the H370 Mining Master from Asus takes the cake with *claimed* 20 GPU support - yet to be released in retail so we dont have reviews yet -  Im sure we cant go beyond the 13GPU limit without using Mining Cards.

this's a good thread for seeing the variant of motherboards Basic knowledge about Altcoins Mining. Personally I comfortable with a max of 6PCI-e(6xGPUs)

I think it is better to stick to 12 to 13 cards motherboards, it is even better if you can buy that Onda motherboard to plug every card directly in, removing you the hustle to configure anything or to have a guy preferably IT related person to take care of the mining rig or rigs for you.

I have a bad experience running Windows 10 on Asus B250 expert , that bad that it is the only board which is running HiveOS with 12 cards there because I had a limit of 4 power supplies to use and the rig cage was made to maximum fit 12 cards with 2 floors. It is funny at how stable it is running on HiveOS this board compared to the mess it was on Windows.

I think the Biostar TB 250 with 12 cards and the latest update is also a good option for intermediate level of computer users to do by themselves. If you are a noob I think you should stick with the Onda motherboard with the big PCIE dedicated slots.

IMHO, i love the B250-FinTech-CF Gigabyte 12 card MoBo. I have 2 of these boards running 24 Rx580 Red Devils, getting 372 M/Hs on one and 375 on t'other. Mining using Hive OS, and both these boards never miss a beat. Easy to add a GPU, easy to maintain, and a pleasure to own.

I have heard far to many horror stories of the 19 rig MoBo's.

I'm all for the ASUS B250 mining expert. I've never had any problems running 13 GPUs of mixed NVIDIA and AMD on them. I was actually even planning to complete the 19-GPU setup but since the crypto market tanked i've held off on buying any more mining cards.

IMHO, builds with 13 or more GPUs can easily be STABLE as long as you know what you are doing.

In the end, whichever Mobos that you want to use depends on your passion and condition. If you're going to use a lot of cards in one rig, remember it must be adjusted with another part that we use.

When I initially bought the Asus B250 Mining Expert I didn’t know much about it other than it had 19 PCIe slots and theoretically it can hold 19 gpus*, but that being said that is a big *.  Many variables and very deceiving on the 19 gpus part.  Either way I like the board and it’s features on it.  Looking forward to the Mining Master board so I don’t need to deal with USB risers.

These is the most number of PCIe's so far I've seen with 20 PCIe over USB plus PCIe x 16 slot, make it 21Slots
