- Remember that Bitcoin has no correlation with any kind of commodity in technical analysis such as stocks, bonds, crude oil. Large banks and investment funds in the world have their own research team on the analysis of the currency.
- When you own a stock, you are holding a corporation in the flesh, when you own a bitcoin or other electronic currency, you have to accept a complete dependence on technology and algorithms. You can not complain about anyone because nobody is the owner, nobody is responsible for the goods you are holding.
- If the price of securities is impacted by macroeconomic, micro, market, brand, ... Bitcoin prices are easily shocked by a group of people who own large coin and terrible traditional.

I think that is exactly what happened, a lot of expert traders from stock players, moved to cryptocurrency because of greater profits
and I think, the way the price analysis done by crypto experts seems to be the same as stock experts

stock: no
asset: yes

if you own stock. you are registered as having a % representation of products total value that a company possesses. it does not mean you own that actual produce. you just own a percentage if a value that a company has.

this is why i think newbies and dumb finance wannabes try to hard to concetrate on meaningless things like market caps. bcause they just dont understand bitcoin.

1bitcoin is not 0.000004761905% of the bitcoin network
btc value is not measured as a market cap and sold off as percentages of market cap value either

bitcoin has a price per unit. and the bitcoin market cap is a meaningless math number that is not backed up by dollars.

bitcoin is an asset. when an asset is owned. its owned. its that simple. its not part of a corporations 'stock' its not a product warehouse of % ownership.
1bitcoin is 1 bitcoin.

it is owned by whoever has the keys. there are no laws that force it to be sold on any particular exchange or having it forced to only be traded by licenced traders.
its just an asset. if you own it. you own it. no one can tell you what to do with it

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

P/s: What is your thinking about this issue?

it is misleading because you are focusing so hard on only a part of reality. for instance, it is true that when you own bitcoin you are relying on its technology and as a decentralized money, nobody is responsible if something goes wrong.
but at the same time this means there is no centralized authority to dictate and monitor or restrict every move you make. it also means bitcoin is open source and the technology is reviewed by literary anyone in the world who could and cared about looking at the code. and that makes it the safest technology there is.

regarding price and it being controlled you are again exaggerating the situation by a lot. there is manipulation in bitcoin market just as there is manipulation in any other market like stocks that you like to mention here. it is more because the market is small but price is NOT controlled in any way.

there is nothing similar between bitcoin and stock that you are trying to compare them. bitcoin is a currency and if you want to compare it then you should compare it with other currencies and if the market is your focus then compare it with the currency markets called Forex.

for example if you buy and hold JPY or USD or ... you are trusting the economy built with these currencies, and if that economy goes down the value of that currency goes down and vice versa. bitcoin can be seen the same too. there is a big economy build on top of bitcoin, all the big and small businesses for instance. from exchanges and payment processors, to gambling sites, mixers, and small merchants accepting bitcoin. as that economy grows the value of bitcoin grows with it. we saw one case last year with Japan as lots of merchants started accepting bitcoin and that economy grew and with it price went up.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

We all humans have a great habit of saving money for their future generations  from a very ancient time and this habit is considered to be very good as they think for their budding generations , earlier people use to invest into gold and then comes the stock investment and this kind of investment is still going on and with this investing into stock, there is also bank investment and then comes the future investment, the crypto investment and this investment is much much beneficial than all other kind of investment so it cannot be compared with stock investment.

More of an asset rather than a stock, because definitions of each restricts bitcoin to act as both. Financial experts can alter what X could be used for even though X is good at something else, same with bitcoin, they can convince people that it is a great thing for something else when it's intended use actually differs from what it really is. However, I know for a fact that people, by now know what bitcoin is, and where it really excels at, so people cannot easily be fooled by the 'experts' and do their own thing for their own coins. Also, the governments have their own definitions of what bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are, and most people tend to listen closely to the government more than experts, so still, the use of bitcoin greatly varies due to opinions.

BTC is not at all like stock. Stock are bought from stock exchanges and they give the people a certain percentage of ownership in the company. Whereas BTC is a currency and has a means of store of value.

Bitcoin is certainly not a kind of stock.
It is a digital currency, which has the qualities of being open, decentralized, neutral, and independent of any human factor.
Hence you don't have to trust or depend on anyone apart from the technology.

I do Forex in the past trading and buying stocks, always checking chart for a good movement. Yes cryptocurrency or Bitcoin can be considered as stocks. Easiest to read once Bitcoin price collapse alt coin price follows. From that I would buy alt coins to hoard and sell once Bitcoin price recovers.

I think Bitcoin cannot be compared with stock market. Bitcoin is an asset. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that runs on a blockchain technology. There are other currencies in the market also. So, comparing only Bitcoin to the stock market holds no value.

Actually bitcoin is a form of digital currency and it has also established itself as an investment tool. Since it has become a medium of investment so we can think this as a stock but it is not a stock completely. So while doing analysis you should be careful about this fact.

A bitcoin is more like an ounce of gold, and neither are like a share of a company. The major difference is that a company generates value by doing something productive. An asset such as a bitcoin does nothing productive and it cannot generate value. They are very different because the math is different.

BTW, this demonstrates the difference between an investor and a speculator. An investor buys an asset because it will increase in value as a result of doing productive work. A speculator buys an asset because it will increase in value as a result of changes in supply and demand. There are no Bitcoin investors; there are only Bitcoin speculators.

Inspite of being fluctuated BTC market price sometimes up and sometimes down. That's it's very tough to predict about it. Many company try to analyz it's market and  then the have some data predict about it's future market condition.

I believe that crypto-currencies will eventually be more like stocks when we have more institutional funds in them, when the bitcoin ETF is approved by SEC

Bitcoin is not related to stock as it is a kind of currency called crypto currency. The market for this coin is very much volatile. You can do analysis thinking it as stock but you need to be careful when analyzing. Do not rely on such analysis completely.

Cryptocurrency market is like stock market, the features of stock market is definitely in there which makes the market fluctuations and manipulations but Bitcoin is not like stock. We are not getting a percentage of Satoshi's organization by any means. So, I think it is far different from that.
