For that, I don't think that there is any altcoin that bears that title. Before now, a lot of persons would have agreed that it was Ethereum, but that coin hasn't been doing so great recently, and a lot of persons are beginning to lose faith in it. Let's wait and see what altcoin would dominate in a beyyer market condition.

Safety in Cryptocurrency is relatively and have different meaning. If you as an investors is overtly consign about safety, it will better for you to keep your money in bank. Notwithstanding, saying about security been relative does not mean that Cryptocurrency is not secure, I think is better secure than fiat!

Bitcoin is most reliable and safe one, altcoins are not as safe as Bitcoin yet.
There are many perspective alts I could mention but as far as you are asking for safe ones I'd advice you top 10 altcoins then.
If I were you I'd read and search for good working products with low market cap and professional devs team for long term investments.

You can select any coin from top 50 coins of this market as all those coins are reliable and good for long-term investment. These all coins have good volume and best liquidity in bad market conditions also.

What for you is the safest and most reliable altcoin that any beginners of cryptocurrency can buy and invest in to? Because bitcoin is unpredictable I wonder if I can start buying altcoins instead, however, I do not want to buy an altcoin that will just be a waste of money. Any ideas?
I recommend you to have to look at the top 10 coins of the crypto market. These coins are the very stable price and it is a very potential for the long term. |

There is no such thing as a safe and reliable altcoin because they are all cryptocurrencies and they are volatile. There is always going to be some level of risk involved when you are investing in any kind of altcoin. Just make sure that your investments are made into coins that you have made adequate research into so you are making a calculated guess at best.

To say that investing in a coin is less risky and profitable, it is difficult to say exactly, but the BTC is still the most appreciated coin. hybrid, the price they are now is pretty low, so i think it is the most ok. |

The crypto market is volatile these days and it is difficult to say about any coin but i believe Bitcoin is the most reliable and safest coin than any other. Bitcoin always dominate the crypto market and all coin are running behind bitcoin. People also trust and believe in Bitcoin the most.

I think there is no more reliable coin than Bitcoin. But if we talk about altcoins then Ethereum of course. Maybe also NEO. Generally, you can rely on top-3 or top-5 altcoins in charts. Investing in any other is pretty risky stuff.

Waves were quite stable in this correction movement. Also, decred shown himself nicely. But if you talk about future, i`d advise you to dont think much and take bitcoin. It is the most reliable.

But that cannot be a good investment advice, i would say. You cant just invest in the Top 20 just because they are in the top. a) Because the are in the top, means that most probably the price is already high. b) And most important is that *first* you shall read the Whitepaper, or at least get more involved in the project, before investing on anything! |

All altcoins like bitcoin are unpredictable . presently none of them can be regarded as most reliable or safest because they are all volatile. however for other reasons the Ethereum stands out because the technology behind it is more versatile and gives room for financial innovations like smart contracts. |

Crypto market is unpredictable but there are one or two altcoins which has reached good market value and has good market cap and circulating supply. It is Ripple one of the top altcoins to buy after ETH. Ripple has become one of the good altcoins and many investors showing interest towards ripple |

Ethereum is the best altcoin at the moment, because there are no great alternatives. I mean there are some coins, that could theoretically replace it, but they are simply too young and will need much more time to become as powerful as ETH.

I agree. Top 20 altcoins, or even top 10 to start, are the safest and more reliable bet if we are talking long-term holding purposes. |

in my opinion, from altcoins is now worth buying tron, ada, neo. and despite the fact that bitcoin as you say is unpredictable, it should be in any investor. that's the king of all coins. and while all other coins depend on its growth.
