1000 MH would be 62,5% of your entire rig right? Do I have to hire it for 24hours or how does it work?

You can rent it for 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours.
If you rent 1 mh one hour in week 1000 times, you will still get the rig when you reach 1000 Mh total.
