For unknown reasons (ok: because his reasoning is flawed), he talks about the doomsdayer and it applies it in reverse on bitcoin.

Yeah, Bitcoin has a long long way to go. A huge mountain to climb in front of us. We all know that.

But if I told this clown what Bitcoin would be today, 5 years ago. He would of laughed and laughed and laughed..........

This is the same guy (I think - they spelled his name with an extra O in 2013 - http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2013/04/bitcoin-apocalypse-is-nigh.html) who said the "bitcoin apocalypse is nigh".

He is going for a multiple-time Paul Krugman-the-internet-is-like-the-fax-machine terrible prediction award.

Hahah i love this article, how they turn it all upside down, hilarious.
Where is this bitcoin cult anyway? I doubt anyone else besides a newspaper journalist will take anyone shouting like a nutter on the internet any more serious than the next troll.

Good job on the FUD and fearmongering NY-Times, and making yourself look like this very objective organisation.

Good job on the FUD and fearmongering NY-Times, and making yourself look like this very objective organisation.

NY Magazine is not The New York Times. One is a pop mag, the other is an institution.

Yes, this article is drivel, and you can clearly sense the authors bitterness. Who devotes so much energy to dissecting something they dont like which others find wonderful? An unhappy, bitter person.

The simple psychological explanation is jealousy, which has morphed into schadenfreude with the perceived "downfall of Bitcoin."

Its pitiable, and will be fairly embarrassing for the author in a few years.
