I can say that to date no MyMonero wallet has been hacked. Although it is the merit of users who carefully monitor compliance with all security requirements. In other words, a complex and unique password is your best friend.

As I'm sure you are aware, using your own node has advantages in terms of privacy, security and decentralization, but there are several options that you can use with a remote node, therefore avoiding having to perform a full blockchain sync.

You can find a list of wallets here: https://getmonero.org/downloads/

You can configure any of the desktop wallets to connect to a remote node instead of a local node. There is a guide here (https://getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/remote_node_gui.html) and a list of remote nodes here (https://moneroworld.com/#nodes).

At the bottom of that first link, you will also find mobile wallets (one Apple, one Android, one web) that obviously do not involve a full sync.

Also, if you own a Ledger, you can use it with the desktop GUI to secure your Monero, again connecting via a remote node rather than a local node. See this link for more info: https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/9901/how-do-i-generate-a-ledger-monero-wallet-with-the-gui-monero-wallet-gui

It is possible to use your Ledger with a remote node so you do not have perform a full blockchain sync. See this link for details: https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/9901/how-do-i-generate-a-ledger-monero-wallet-with-the-gui-monero-wallet-gui. Specifically, under point 15 it states:

"Option 3 is chosen by first ticking the Connect to a remote node box and subsequently entering a remote node (to reiterate, a list of remote nodes can be found here)."

I would recommend Moneroju since it's :
1. The most user-friendly (IMO) XMR wallet
2. XMR community have audited the wallet, which means it should be secure
3. The only real wallet for Android device.

Never use centralized/malicious XMR wallet such as freewallet which don't give you XMR private key and it's known for froze stealing user wallet

As I'm sure you are aware, using your own node has advantages in terms of privacy, security and decentralization, but there are several options that you can use with a remote node, therefore avoiding having to perform a full blockchain sync.

You can find a list of wallets here: https://getmonero.org/downloads/

Even though you connect to remote nodes, you still need to download necessary data for your wallet and able to create TX which size is a bit big (AFAIK it was about 1GB, but far less compared to Monero full nodes which is about 60GB).
Also, there's security/privacy risks if you're connected to malicious full nodes.

For storing Xmr you must need a secure wallet where you can keep is safe. In my opinion I think Monero GUI is good. Many of the people are waiting for Trezor 2 that may support xmr.

MyMonero is the only web wallet available for XMR. It is also operated and owned by one of the lead Monero developers. The wallet is easy to use and it works like any account that you make on internet. You have to create an account and login online to access your coins. They will only encrypt your keys and store the data on its servers. So, there's no chance for them to have access to your funds.

Well, Aside from a monero wallet I really think that even the other wallet had the same security features, You just have to activate all of it just to be sure for your coins safety, But having one wallet is enough just to interact with the exchange of other coins, Well my suggestion is having an online wallet will sure be a convenience for your daily transaction needs a fast exchange when the markets suddenly fluctuates, And having a cold storage one is really safe with hackers because it is not connected online for safety precaution, But you can surely miss an opportunity to profit when a sudden fluctuation may occur, But it is great for long-term hodling.

Hello

I have a question.

What XMR wallet do you use  ? I dont want to download the whole blockchain.

Well, if you want to use the simple wallet, mymonero maybe kind like the myetherwallet of ETH.
But for security, i dont know it well. What i know, using a monero desktop wallet will be safe for you. But
you have to download the blockchain.

I did not like this purse. It is better to use Ledger or Trezor. I do not trust other purses. There is a risk to lose everything and not to find who stole your cryptocurrency.
