Can Bezos or Gates really spend all that money either?  There is limits on what they can buy for their personal enjoyment unless they are just after the power the money provides.  Then they go and buy lawmakers and authorities to bend to their every will.

A lot of those art sales is just money laundering, those paintings don't actually hold that much value.

This world has a lot of people and it's hard to know who is the richest, if you search for information on google, it will show you the top list for you but those are clean coins to be listed, and lots of black money out there. Or maybe they don't like to appear in public because it can harm their family.    What about drug kings? I read that Pablo Escobar had billions, mostly in cash! He was earning millions everyday. There should be

   I believe that googles list of the richest people is one thing, reality is different. Some people probably have much more then these
guys, but they are operating in shadows, we can just try to guess who are these people, but the fact is that we will never know

I should have mentioned previously that the background to artwork is that it can become monetized somehow.   The 'scream' painting was stolen but never officially sold but it was traded and held by criminal gangs as a kind of solid asset for value they had accumulated.    The way an illiquid monetary economy can work is quite lumpy and irregular, it gives us a clue why is crypto so somehow surprisingly popular and used throughout the world when we already have digital currency available.    But we also have a world without democracy for many people in many countries and many are denied capitalism in the same way they are denied a vote and hence the secure decentralized ability of crypto to convey value is a magic missing element to a modern world dominated by politics and the powerful in their capital controls.

Those google listed aren't really the richest. Those hidden wealth of some personalities are even more than those google listed. Of course they can't be listed and they don't want to since their wealth is questionable. I know one clan here in our country that has more than top 1 listed by google. There are many more rich people who have crossed Bill Gates by now. I believe that bitcoin is owned by these rich people secretly perhaps. Bitcoin will take huge leaps in prices if all business tycoons start using it officially and legally. I live in a third country and me knowing that the results of the Natural Resources belong to the state most of the benefits are not for the people but for officials and politicians. every year the profits of state-owned enterprises are hundreds of trillions but very little is used for the people. most of the money goes into the officials' purses and this is what makes these officials rich.

I also live in the third world country and you were right that not only them are one of the richest person in the world because there are people who are rich, but all of their money are come from illegal activities like money laundering, selling drugs and etc, which they can also earn million of dollars.
