Why SHA-256? Sigh...

Also... If you're calling it the digital platinum, it's supposed to be rare considering platinum is more rare than gold. 999 million coins is not exactly rare.  Roll Eyes

This coin doesn't really have any redeeming qualities. I could deal with a 2% premine if the coin had potential, but this is just another clone. It doesn't innovate.

Have you considered Sci Fi exchange yet? Sci Fi exchange could use some more coins and as this coin name implies that it is something that only science fiction could dream up you might have a chance with them. They have a forum where people have requested to get their coin on the exchange: http://scificointalk.com/index.php/board,14.0.html As the developer you would probably get a response back faster than if we just asked and I'm pretty sure the people devoted to your coin would all jump on your post supporting it if you made one. @Tach, thanks for pasting your config file I did try it (changed the username an password).

Still no luck? All my other wallets work fine except this one?

Loads of coins sitting on the pool and I can get the wallet to synch.

I am going to try deleting everything and installing the wallet again.

Has your wallet ever synced? I had a problem with Starcoin where I could never get it to sync because I was being banned from the IRC nodes for whatever reason. If you goto your appdata\roaming\bitinum folder find the debug file and look through that to see if it says temporary ban. If it has that you can email someone to unban you I never took the time to do it with starcoin though.

Because this coin have a transaction limit ad 50,000.
Every transaction > 50,000 not work, but not for pool problem, but for coin problem.

Another user have same issue, can't take 72,000 BTC and i sent 3 small transaction of 12,000-30,000 and 30,000 and all work fine.

Send to me a PM with your wallet address (old and new if is changed), email and username of pool and i send  all your coin Wink

Dear Bitinum community,

the Bitinum block chain was stopped briefly for about 6-12 hours; no-one was mining and there were very few reachable nodes online.

We've been watching the situation for some time and took action to prevent Bitinum from dying by doing some emergency hashing.

We also added Bitinum to our network of high availability addnode seed hosts.

If you have trouble getting synchronized (i.e. no block source available), just add these lines to your bitinum.conf and your wallet should be able to get online again:

       addnode=seeds.altcoin.center
       addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.eu
       addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.us

Since Bitinum is in danger of dying away, we are providing this service to the community free of charge until December the 31st.

The usual cost for the service would be 0.03 BTC per month.

If you wish to support us, you can donate by sending us any amount of BTC you feel comfortable with to the address 13ssQx54XbfXXYk4ukME3FWnvd8ozsz8AB.

All funds will be used to extend the addnode seed service for Bitinum at the rate of 0.03 BTC per month starting from January the 1st, 2015.

Yours,

Jyri

Altcoin.Center

P.S. If the original developer happens to see this message, please contact us! We would be interested in working with you to update the Bitinum source.

I've also pointed 333Mh/s to the network, hopefully something good comes from this coin. It wasn't even alive a year before it was abandoned.

Great, thanks for that! =)

I'm determined to keep Bitinum alive no matter what. For some mysterious reason I just like this coin, and I know there are many who have used significant amounts of hashing power to mine it.

I would be happy to support the original developer if he wants to continue with Bitinum - and if he doesn't then Altcoin.Center can adopt the coin. =)

My pool is still open to mine Bitinum from the beginning  Wink

The coin will be trade at askcoin.net within hours   Smiley

It will be optimal to have community support to the code if original developer stop to work on it.

Perfect! =)

The coin will be trade at askcoin.net within hours   Smiley

This is truly wonderful news! =)

It will be optimal to have community support to the code if original developer stop to work on it.

It very much seems like the original developer would no longer have any interest in the coin.

While I have been very busy setting up couple of new services and haven't thus been able to keep the discussion going here, both me personally and Altcoin.Center as an organization are ready and willing to provide support to Bitinum to keep the coin alive and well. This means that we will also provide an updated version of the wallets, linked against a secure version of the SSL library ASAP.

If anyone with developer backgrounds is willing to become the new Bitinum maintainer, we'll also be happy to support him/her in the effort.

Altcoin.Center's seed nodes provide a stable source for the Bitinum block chain. If anyone has trouble finding peers and getting synchronized ("no block source available"), just add these lines to bitinum.conf, restart your wallet and you should be in the game:

addnode=seeds.altcoin.center
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.eu
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.us

We cannot add BTN button because of following errors:
Code:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It occurs while running bitinumd compiled in static mode.

Hi!

We cannot add BTN button because of following errors:
Code:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It occurs while running bitinumd compiled in static mode.

Thanks for reporting this!

Could you please provide me with the following extra info:

- Which operating system are you using, and if it's Linux, which distribution?

- When exactly does the core dump take place? Immediately when starting the daemon or when performing some specific action through the RPC interface?

- Are you using a "headless" (text mode only) client or is it the GUI version?

- If you're using Linux, is the wallet running in a chroot jail or in the normal user context?

The answers unavoidably contain security sensitive information so I suggest you should reply in a private message, or by e-mailing the information to coins@altcoin.center

We'll get this fixed ASAP. =)

Yours,

Jyri

Ok, good.

Could you try running the wallet with IPv6 disabled just to make sure the problem doesn't have anything to do with it. It probably does not but it would be good to check it anyways. I.e. add onlynet=IPv4 to the configuration file or command line parameters.

Is the distribution you're using 32 or 64 bit version?

I use only textual daemon in pool, not graphical.

Actually I have some users that are mining, so I will attend a window when I can stop daemon for the test.

It is 64 bit version (x86-64)

Ok, thanks!

All available details would be useful.

I'll be away for couple of hours but will check back on this immediately when I return.

Dear Bitinum community,

I hereby announce the takeover of Bitinum by Altcoin.Center.

What this means is that Altcoin.Center will:

- Provide upgraded wallets compiled against current non-vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL library. No new functionality will be added at this point; this is just an initial "emergency" update to eliminate the risks related to the buggy versions of OpenSSL.

- Initiate the search for a developer who is able and willing to take charge of technical development of BTN.

- Manage the strategical planning and overall coordination of the non-technical side of GANJA development, i.e. branding, partnership deals etc.

- Generally look after the coin doing our best to give it a long, stable and prosperous life.

For starters we have already added Bitinum to the Altcoin.Center addseed network. The network currently has four DDoS protected nodes; two in Europe, two in Northern America. More nodes are to be added shortly. The task of the nodes is to provide a permanent high availability block source for BTN as well as other coins "protected" by us.

The seed servers can be reached at the following addresses:

addnode=seeds.altcoin.center
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.eu
addnode=seeds.altcoincenter.us

You're also warmly welcome to mine Bitinum at http://pool.altcoin.center - no registration required, just point your sha256 miner to:

stratum+tcp://pool.altcoin.center:3111 -u YourBitinumWalletAddress -p x

The pool is vardiff, has 1.1% fee and minimum payout threshold of 777 BTN. Payouts are processed once a minute.

More info will be made available soon!
