What is Titcoin?

Titcoin is a cryptocurrency for the adult community. It is exactly what you would expect from a currency called Titcoin!  

Titcoin can be used for:

• Paying at adult online stores
• Motivating girls to post nudes for crypto

• Investing money in the power of tits

Titcoin is fun, but it is not just fun! It is also serious. Titcoin is closely following the Bitcoin Core development in order to achieve high software quality and robustness. We're employing unit tests and regression tests to ensure continuous quality during development. The main difference of Titcoin compared to Bitcoin is a faster block time that allows us to compensate a lower transaction volume with higher transaction speed, and a different retargeting algorithm.


History

Titcoin (TIT) was founded in early 2014 by the entrepreneurs Edward Mansfield and Richard Allen. It was one of the very original altcoins, only a few different cryptocurrencies were widely known at that time (Wikipedia). Titcoin received a lot of media attention in 2014 (see https://github.com/titcoin/doc/wiki/Media-coverage).

In April 2016, the Bittrex account of the Titcoin founders was hacked and all project funds were stolen (Source). They decided to quit and started looking for other developers interested in taking over Titcoin development. One year later, in May 2017, Titcoin development was finally handed over to a company called "Joy Toilet", but they never did actual development work on Titcoin.

In Q3 2018, the owner of Joy Toilet (called "Doop") started facing financial issues and sold his access to the official Titcoin accounts to a different cryptocurrency project named TittieCoin, including Twitter, Github and Bitcointalk. TittieCoin then created a new pre-mined chain, claimed the "TIT" ticker for it and asked Titcoin holders to "swap" their coins. The swap was carried out by the TittieCoin developers themselves and they did not burn the received Titcoins.

Parts of the Titcoin community did not agree with this approach and decided to continue the original Titcoin. A new Titcoin wallet based on Bitcoin 0.16.3 was released by Titcoin community member Gandalf86 on Nov. 9, 2018. As of 2019, TittieCoin has rebranded itself to "Limitless VIP" and is no longer associated with adult themes.

In June 2019, community member "zolette" created the subreddit ShowMyTitCoin on Reddit as a place where girls can receive free titcoins for uploading nudes. As of June 2020, our subreddit has over 9000 subscribers and hundreds of girls have installed the Titcoin wallet in order to receive their first titcoins!

A new Titcoin wallet that activates various Bitcoin softforks (including SegWit) was released on July 20, 2020 by Gandalf86. (Announcement)


Roadmap

The following goals have been achieved:

• Developed a new Titcoin wallet based on Bitcoin 0.16.3 that is fully compatible with the existing Titcoin network
• Released binaries for Windows, Mac OS and Linux
• Extensive test suite, including all tests inherited from Bitcoin
• Created a new homepage: https://www.titcoinproject.org/
• Activated various Bitcoin softforks (SegWit etc.) to turn Titcoin into a modern cryptocurrency
• Getting listed on new cryptocurrency exchanges

Short-term goals are:

• Use native "lightweight" mode by default for the graphical wallet
• Rebasing to Bitcoin release 0.22, activation of the Taproot softfork

Long-term goals are:

• Adjustments to the Titcoin wallet to support live cam (tipping) scenarios better
• Native Android wallet based on lightweight mode
• Integration in multi-coin mobile wallets
• Reproducible builds based on Guix
• And of course, being accepted as a payment method by adult sites and online stores, and becoming the No.1 tipping method in online adult communities!

So Titcoin will be merged into TittieCoin using a swap. Note the passive voice, a swap is normally something offered to users to do on their own. He also implicitly said that Titcoin will not continue to exist by his plans, which essentially means that those users who will resist a swap will end up on an abandoned chain, and that TittieCoin is the only chain that will be maintained after this so called "merge".

What is very concerning to me is this notion that users will not have a choice, so somehow they will try to do it all automatically using a software update. To me this is an aggressive form of paternalism, which is why maintaining this coin independently is necessary. We will try to build up an independent Titcoin community here that is independent of TittieCoin devs and their disconcerting philosophy with respect to cryptocurrency users.  

And finally TittieCoin is a different coin with different technology. So someone who prefers Proof of Work on a Bitcoin codebase instead of a Proof of Stake on a PIVX codebase will want to continue using Titcoin. That's why trying to maintain the original Titcoin is a totally legit goal.  And it's completely independent of what the TittieCoin devs want. Cryptocurrencies have the unique property of enabling this independence from any authorities.

Sure, but what does a brand have to do with a cryptocurrency? What does "buying a brand" of a cryptocurrency even mean?    You can hardly "buy" the name or the logo of Bitcoin. Titcoin is just like Bitcoin, same concept. It's a decentralized application, based on open source code. I quoted that part because it is obviously nonsensical.

I just want to give my two cents about this. I'm not a new account, I have never been really active on these boards, but I mined Tittiecoins several years ago.
I am of the opinion that the merger is good. The TTC devs are actively doing stuff. It looks to me like they're doing a lot of things. They moved the old TTC to a new chain that offers privacy, masternodes and staking. It's a PIVX clone, I like that better than an old fashioned bitcoin clone. The TTC devs have made two Tittiecoin games, they are communicating with exchanges about the new TTC 2.0 chain and wallets, they are supporting users with their coin swaps and masternodes. They are working on implementing KYC for American users. Several of the TTC devs are active on their Discord an Telegram.
In short, they are there and they do a lot.
And there's undoubtedly more they do, that I don't know about.
As they are investing so much time, effort and even money (e.g. to do coin swaps from the old wallet to the new they have to rent ASIC processing time), I think they are headed for success.

Compare the above with the TIT dev(s). Of course, the TIT dev could do all of the above, but the fact is, they are not doing so.

So, I wholeheartedly support Tittiecoin and the merger of TIT and TTC.

It may be good for TittieCoin holders, but not for Titcoin holders. We don't even know about the intended swap ratio, but I doubt it will be to the disadvantage of TittieCoin holders.

TittieCoin has swapped to a different code base and consensus method that is much less researched and validated than the Bitcoin code. Of course they are free to do so, but they shouldn't try to pull in a different coin that has absolutely nothing to do with that. Masternodes are a means of centralization and have the main purpose of pumping the price up without an inherent value increase. We don't need that here, Titcoin is strong enough on its own. 

So thanks for your opinion, but so far every comment that was in favor of the swap was coming from people who are already holding TittieCoin. Which is not a coincidence!

I asked them about it but they didn't tell me more about it than the fact that they are having "network issues". I have no idea what that means honestly.    The Titcoin network works fine. You can trade Titcoin on Yobit in the meanwhile.

Maybe because Titcoin would be a rivaling project, so by "acquiring" it they would have a stronger position in the field of adult crypto coins? Of course this is only speculation. Titcoin and TittieCoin were created around the same time btw., in 2014.

I assume by assets they mean the social media and Github accounts which they were given control over. Of course we know that such accounts cannot control a cryptocurrency, so their plan was a little ill-conceived.   Unfortunately the big news providers (XBIZ etc.) seem to have picked up this story for now, we will have to explain to them what this actually means (and not means) at some point.

Hello party people,

the new wallet based on the most recent Bitcoin codebase (0.16.3) is 50% done. Just need to insert some nice graphics, set up Gitian and do lots of testing to ensure full compatibility with the existing Titcoin network. Give me ~2 more weeks for this. The new client will give us:

• Modern design
• Better robustness
• Better network stability and security improvements
• Option to upgrade to recent Bitcoin improvements like SegWit in the future
• Can be compiled on recent Linux operating systems since it uses up to date library versions. So pool operators, miners, exchanges etc. will have a much easier time setting up their infrastructure for Titcoin!

I am still rebasing some commits, so you can't watch the progress on Github just yet. But it will be released on Github when it's ready!

I have good news for you! The current working state for the new Titcoin wallet based on Bitcoin 0.16.3 is online on Github now:

Beta-Testers are welcome to try this new wallet. You will have to compile it on your own system at this moment, because this is NOT an official release yet. Compilation instructions can be found in the according README files. Please treat this as experimental software at the moment, i.e. make sure that you are not risking your funds.

After enough people have confirmed that the wallet works as expected (including solo mining with it), I will create Windows binaries and then the new wallet should be considered safe to use. Then we will start some first community activities and giveaways.    This should start around mid-November, and it's going to be very exciting!  

The new Bitcoin codebase has everything in place in order to deploy protocol improvements like SegWit easily. We can start deploying these changes during the following months if the majority of the community agrees with it. I would like to invite everyone of you to get actively involved! The main platform for our activities will be Discord, so please join to make sure that you are not missing any news.   (The invite link is in the ANN)

If you are trying the new wallet please post about your experience here to inform other community members about whether it is safe to use. Please also report any issues (even the smallest ones) so they can be fixed!    Together we can make Titcoin one of the greatest altcoins in existence.

The TittieCoin developers are continuing their malicious attempt to force existing Titcoin users to give up their Titcoin for Tittiecoin. I am currently not available because I am travelling and will not allow them to ruin my vacation during these 2 weeks. Titcoin will continue to exist of course, nobody is forced to give up anything or to install any update. I am very disappointed by their ongoing hostile activities towards Titcoin.

If you want to help, please spread awareness on social media about this since I cannot even post on the original Titcoin thread because it has been locked. Please also ask the exchanges to not update to the Titcoin software released by the Tittiecoin devs if you are interested in your coins on Cryptopia or Yobit to stay TIT coins and not suddenly turn into TTC.

Thanks for your support bud! With regard to TittieCoin I think it would be best to just ignore what they are doing and focusing on our own stuff. I have already debated with them about this in the past, but it only increased the hostility and created even more misunderstandings than it solved. They might have their own agenda but this shouldn't prevent us from building a friendly and respectful Titcoin community over here. The consensus is what the blockchain says, not what some developers say.

Titcoin Update

You can now build new wallet from https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin/

Changes are:

• Added regression tests using past Titcoin blocks. With this you can have a very high confidence that the new wallet behaves exactly like the previous Titcoin wallet and is fully compatible with the existing network. You can run the tests by running "make check".
• Added a seed node by Sneil which is already running the new software. You can find a list of the hardcoded nodes here: https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin/wiki/Peers
• Improved initial connection speed by not waiting for DNS seeds when we don't have any.  

The new software version is 0.16.3, similar to the Bitcoin version it is based on. The past wallet version released by the original Titcoin devs was 1.0.0. I have good news for you! The current working state for the new Titcoin wallet based on Bitcoin 0.16.3 is online on Github now:

Beta-Testers are welcome to try this new wallet. You will have to compile it on your own system at this moment, because this is NOT an official release yet. Compilation instructions can be found in the according README files. Please treat this as experimental software at the moment, i.e. make sure that you are not risking your funds.

After enough people have confirmed that the wallet works as expected (including solo mining with it), I will create Windows binaries and then the new wallet should be considered safe to use. Then we will start some first community activities and giveaways.    This should start around mid-November, and it's going to be very exciting!  

The new Bitcoin codebase has everything in place in order to deploy protocol improvements like SegWit easily. We can start deploying these changes during the following months if the majority of the community agrees with it. I would like to invite everyone of you to get actively involved! The main platform for our activities will be Discord, so please join to make sure that you are not missing any news.   (The invite link is in the ANN)

If you are trying the new wallet please post about your experience here to inform other community members about whether it is safe to use. Please also report any issues (even the smallest ones) so they can be fixed!    Together we can make Titcoin one of the greatest altcoins in existence.

Version 0.16.3 Beta

This test build was created on my own production system. I would like to move to reproducible builds in the future (i.e. for actual "releases"), but for now this should work.    Please treat this as beta stage software and do not use it to access large amounts of TIT coins or mining power yet until enough people have confirmed that everything works. Please share your experience, positive or negative, in order to build up that necessary feedback and to help fixing possible issues early.

This wallet should be 100% compatible with the existing Titcoin network. This is another step towards an upgrade for the entire network and to make Titcoin a robust and modern altcoin again.

Titcoin Update
Version 0.16.3

I am happy to announce the first stable release of Titcoin 0.16.3! You can download it from here: https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin/releases/tag/v0.16.3-titcoin

There are only minimal changes from the previous beta wallet, as no errors have been reported for that. Changes are:

• Increased default transaction fee to reward miners (0.0002 TIT per kB).
• Travis CI is set up on Github, all validity checks inherited from Bitcoin are passing (unit tests, functional tests etc.). This is used to make sure that no errors or incompatibilities will be introduced by future releases.
• All commits (or merge commits) on the master branch are PGP-signed by me (Key ID 5FDB0725323185CC) for increased security.

Some rebases were necessary to fix tests that were broken in previous commits, so please check out a fresh copy of the repository if you are using Git. Gitian builds have been put on the backlog again for now, because the effort for building them is higher than expected and the benefits don't justify the amount of time to be spent on it at this point. I hope that we will have reproducible builds in the future, but I feel that building up a community and starting some marketing is more important at this point.

I hope that everything works, feel free to consult the #support channel in our Discord if you encounter any difficulties. Feel free to message me if you want to get involved into the project or would like to start partnering with the Titcoin community. 

The next steps on the roadmap (for the next 2-3 months) will be:

• Titcoin giveaway and community building activities

• Reproducible builds (Gitian)

the big question is which coin are you really continuing as one or the other would no longer exist. as it has been explained you are merging titcoin into tittycoin meaning the original code base for titcoin would be left behind making it open for community take over if some of the community chose to go that route Which is what Gandalf86 is trying to do. I will agree that everything should be clear that he is continuing the legacy chain vs stating it's the official but that can be changed it's all about communication and everyone being civil. None of this matters when in time you will go your way as you have all the original accounts, this will go it's own way as there will eventually be a fork one way or the other as one chain will not honor the blocks from the other. as it is now both this wallet and the original titcoin wallet both validate the others transactions. once your wallet is out that merges the 2 chains this will not matter any longer as they will be 2 separate chains.

Within the next 6 hours we will launch the new TittieCoin website along with the following updates and new releases:

  . Icon improvements

All TitCoin holders will need to go to TittieCoin.com to swap in live chat due to the TitCoin hard fork.

These are rather good news for Titcoin!    Obviously they cannot change their ticker to TIT because that one is already used by Titcoin since years. Everyone who wants to give their Titcoins to the TittieCoin devs can do so, otherwise Titcoin will remain unaffected and undamaged by this.

This statement doesn't make a lot of sense, I guess they mean that people can swap their coins manually if they want to (but it's not a hard fork).

So all in all this is positive for Titcoin, we can just hope that the exchanges won't change the ticker of TittieCoin to TIT which would cause confusion, or swap their users funds without their permission. New block explorers and a new Titcoin exchange are on their way, stay tuned!

Absolutely. The TittieCoin devs are currently messing around with exchanges and their Coinmarketcap listing, but all of this doesn't affect Titcoin much. We will have our own reliable exchange soon, which should hopefully also make things more clear for the poor exchanges confused by the communication strategies of the TTC devs. 

Your old Titcoin wallet should still work fine.

Unfortunately Novaexchange stopped the market again after the Tittiecoin developers told them that theirs is not the "correct" Titcoin, but a fork ...   (which is obviously a lie in case you are wondering)

I'm working with them to reactivate the market again. Right now you can trade Titcoin on Yobit, and Nova was on the same chain as everybody else (I tried depositing and withdrawing coins, everything worked).

I'm happy I moved my coins off Cryptopia some months ago, but it made me think about coins with a small marketcap, which TIT and TTC still are. The attackers can simply rent an ASIC computer system and then they control these small coins. As I understand it, this is possible with coins that use the original Bitcoin style Proof of Work. It's not possible with Proof of Stake coins. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
I think it's safer for small coins to not use Proof of Work, to avoid 51% attacks. If a 51% attack happens today, it can happen again anytime. Right?
I'm happy that TTC moved to Proof of Stake and thereby avoided the current attacks. Shouldn't your TIT do the same? Maybe the merger isn't that bad after all..?

Hey, thanks for your question! I am happy to explain the pros/cons of Proof of Stake vs. Proof of Work to you. The difference is that POW has a well researched and validated incentive model, while Proof of Stake has not. With POW, the party/group who is putting in the largest amount of money/mining power over time is directing the consensus during that time. With POS, the party/group who has the largest amount of coins once is directing the consensus at any time.

So for example, with POS, an attacker could accumulate a massive amount of coins while the coin is cheap, and carry out a double spend attack years later when the coin is worth much more. That is not possible with POW, because the difficulty will increase over time if the value rises. Therefore, having POS on a low-value coin is much more risky than POW. With POW, you can just increase the required confirmations (like Novaexchange did for Titcoin for example), and even if there is a 51% attack the damage is not so large. With POS, once someone has a too large balance the chain is effectively worthless.

Another problem with usual POS implementations is that the person who has the largest balance will increase their share on the network through exponential growth until they own >50% of the coins. A specific problem with merging with TTC is that the TTC devs must have a very large amount  of TTC already (since they are offering a swap from a different coin etc.), so they have way too much power on the network and will profit the most from POS. A cryptocurrency should be as democratic as possible and not be controlled by the people who happen to have the largest amount of coins through shady swap practices.  

So Proof of Stake sounds nice at first but it has a lot of problems if you look closer, especially if you want the consensus to still be trustworthy when the value rises a lot.

Those are really good questions, I would suggest to ask them about this directly. One thing that they will need to understand is that they can't change their Tittiecoin ticker to "TIT" because it's already used by Titcoin. But I would be surprised if exchanges would allow them to do this anyway.

Note that they are not even the "original team", they just bought the Twitter account etc. from the previous owner who in turn got them from the original team. The original team left this coin 2 years ago. This coin hasn't been developed since 2014, and now by me.

Some time ago I was interested in the development of another coin, but I left this alone.
Right now I'm looking at you initiative seriously, may some development resources help the next step of this coin ?

Apparently Cryptopia decided to delist Titcoin due to the double spend attack that happened during this summer. I would recommend to move your funds to your own wallet (download link in the ANN), and to use Nova Exchange as the new trading platform. It's a very reliable exchange. It's not listed on CMC yet because Coinmarketcap requires a daily volume of $1000 per day in order to add a market to a coin's page. 

Currently most people seem to move their funds to Yobit which leads to a lot of downward pressure over there. But at least we have some good volume again, finally!  

Please don't store your funds on an exchange, ever! Always use a real software wallet on your PC.

Haha np, I'm aware that interest in altcoins has heavily declined in 2018. Which is an even greater motivation to try and build up a community even during this bear market! I don't believe any altcoin should make itself more dependent of Bitcoin than necessary. Titcoin is not just an object of price speculation like some other useless altcoins, it has its own purpose and a right to exist on its own. The case of use-case specific currencies like Titcoin has yet to be explored.

Distribution of coins is essential for building a strong community, and I'm sure that everybody likes free money.   The only question is how much is necessary for people to start taking action. I will progressively double the giveaway amount every now and then until we have a significant amount of participants, and buy more coins from the market for redistribution if necessary. At these low prices, giving away TIT is almost like an ICO or airdrop of a new currency!   The goals of Titcoin are clear and it has a very good use case, so I'm sure that the lack of visibility will only be a temporary issue. It only requires one person with a significant amount of followers to realize the potential that lies within Titcoin in order to kickstart the necessary attention.

Right?   It's interesting because Titcoin is a $25k USD micro-cap altcoin. But I guess the reason is that some of the more experienced cryptocurrency members see the potential that lies within here. i am surprised about the interest in this coin , people are almost fighting for it , my choiche would be to follow gandalf because he is an old/good member of the old community

seems to me that he just tries to take over projects and when that doesn't work, just makes things difficult and confusing for anyone looking for answers.

Actually, what he is doing and has done seems to be everything that is holding crypto back. Or can you point to a successful project that he completed or remotely succeeded in.

Jeez. Can you even make a reasonable argument without including personal attacks in it? What are you actually trying to achieve?  

Here is a summary for you, again (and for everyone else who is reading this for the first time and is wondering what is going on).

1. I developed a new Titcoin wallet based on an up to date codebase (https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin), because the "official" Titcoin wallet (https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin-original) is an archaic stone-age wallet from 2014, and there was no visible development happening. The fact that anybody can make a cryptocurrency wallet and that there is no single point of trust is the entire point of cryptocurrencies, so having two different wallets by different developers shouldn't be too surprising or enraging.

2. The Titcoin wallet I created so far is for Titcoin (obviously), not for any kind of "fork".

3. I'm calling myself the Titcoin developer because as far as I know, nobody else is working on a different Titcoin wallet right now. This has nothing to do with "impersonation", it's simply a matter of facts. If someone here is also working on his own Titcoin wallet (which, by definition, has to be compatible with the existing network), or is interested in getting involved, I would suggest that you contact me so we can work together.  

4. You are using the term "official Titcoin developer" like a title, but let me tell you that "developer" is NOT a title, it's a job description that has to be earned by doing the job! That is, developing a software for the respective project. You are developing the TittieCoin wallet, which makes you TittieCoin developers, not Titcoin developers. You can not become a developer by paying money to someone.  

5. TittieCoin is not a hard fork of any kind of Titcoin, it is a totally different currency. Forks always have a common genesis block. You can offer a swap, that's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that the two coins are distinct. A swap offer doesn't magically "merge" two chains.  

6. I'm trying to make sure that Titcoin will keep its original ticker (TIT), because there is no reason for it to change.

Now, to address your personal attacks quickly:

• I never asked anybody for money for my work. I didn't even ask anyone to trust me, if you don't trust me you can check the source code that I wrote (https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin), or use the old Titcoin wallet from 2014, I don't care. The work I'm doing is simply a free offer to the Titcoin community. So calling me a scammer is pretty far-fetched, don't you think?
• The current Titcoin website was created by our community member cryptobart, which I am very thankful for.  
• The new Titcoin wallet might not be magic, but the old wallet wasn't, either. It's just a codebase upgrade. If someone wants to swap their Titcoins to your much more complex TittieCoin chain they are free to do so.
• Spectrecoin/Wisp is a different project and has nothing to do with this. That being said, Spectrecoin hardforked to introduce forced donations, and I was part of a group of people who supported the original chain without forced donations, which we called Wisp. This has nothing to do with a "takeover attempt", it's just how forks work. A chain fork happens when there is a disagreement on the protocol level.
• The fact that you are accusing me of FUD is, uhm ... ironic.  

So again my question: What are you trying to achieve here? What can I do to stop you from running personal attacks against me and other Titcoin community members? Why are you trying to use our ticker for your own currency?

Hello everyone!

I'd like to make some general notes here.  

As you probably heard, Cryptopia has been hacked so sorry to those who weren't able to withdraw their TIT until now. I don't know if Titcoin will still be listed on Cryptopia when they reopen; probably not. I will let you know when there are any news on that front.

If you wonder what the above message by tittiecoin means, look at my reply on the previous page; they decided to just re-post their stuff again instead of answering my questions. I have nothing to hide, feel free to ask if there is anything unclear about the current situation. Unfortunately the original Titcoin ANN threads have been hijacked in order to advertise TittieCoin now, so I'll continue using this thread for news about Titcoin. I've also been contacted by Edward Mansfield (the founder of Titcoin) who voiced support for our mission to keep Titcoin alive.    So I will certainly continue supporting this coin.

The current situation with Titcoin is as follows: The network is alive and running, the wallet is up to date and stable. Technically there isn't so much to do for Titcoin any more, now the main challenge is growing our community and making the coin being used. Titcoin has never been about technical innovation but about innovation on the marketing side, and bringing cryptocurrency to mainstream by focusing on our adult payments use cases.

General thoughts

Unfortunately we had only one participant in the previous giveaway, who however did not have the required 100 followers. This is symptomatic since the entire reason I am offering this giveaway is to grow our active community!    So in this giveaway, I will double the reward and see what comes out of it. Generally, my strategy will be as following:

• Double the reward about every 2 weeks until we get the full 100 participants within one week. This means exponential growth of the giveaway reward, in order to figure out at which threshold people start getting interested.
• If I am not able to cover the full giveaway amount using my personal Titcoin funds, I will buy the required amount of TIT from the market which will give us some market volume and buy support.
• So if some guys just dump their coins on the market it will not be a problem because the rest of us can buy TIT at a lower price. This will keep the giveaway sustainable, so at the current low prices it is basically like an airdrop of a new coin.
• The purpose of this giveaway is to get the word out and make everyone aware that Titcoin exists!  And also, making sure that Titcoin gets re-distributed to those who care about the project the most, since a strong community is the most important part of every cryptocurrency. 
• When we start getting more participants here, I will move the giveaway into a different thread to make sure that this thread won't get spammed with giveaway messages.

The biggest challenge for a coin like Titcoin is to attract the right audience. Having an appealing website will play a big role for this. I am working on this part and will keep adding and improving the site in the following weeks and months. Apart from that we will need to have a mobile wallet that manages the keys locally (e.g. based on Breadwallet), I could use some help with that.  

Then the biggest challenge will be growing the community with interesting giveaways, as well as PR, i.e. getting in contact with related businesses, establishing partnerships and communicating with news sites. Getting this part right will decide the fate of the project you could say.   So what we need the most are smart people making connections, planning marketing campaigns and getting in contact with prominent content providers (i.e. "porn stars") who would be interested in accepting Titcoin as a payment or tipping method. I will explain more about this vision of how Titcoin can be used to establish a "porn economy" on the upcoming new website.  

Oh and what would also be very helpful is getting videos about Titcoin, e.g. walk-throughs of using the wallet, videos explaining what the project is about and what its purpose is, "reviews" etc.. So we'll need Youtubers or video producers who would like to join us. The target audience of Titcoin mainly consists of no-coiners so we need to explain everything as simple and comprehensible as possible.

Generally, my strategy will be as following:

• Double the reward about every 2 weeks until we get the full 100 participants within one week. This means exponential growth of the giveaway reward, in order to figure out at which threshold people start getting interested.

Hello everyone! Finally, one month after announcing it, the new homepage for Titcoin has gone live: https://titcoin.website/ 

This new website is a significant progression over the previous one, featuring a modern, clean full-width design and a lot of additional content in the "Documentation" section. This is my first real attempt at web development and I have based this site on the existing "Evie" framework. While the previous site was made for cryptocurrency insiders, the target group of this homepage are crypto newcomers (aka "no-coiners"), so there is a lot of introductory information included here as well.

The "About" section contains a detailed description of the vision that I have for Titcoin. Here I have explained the potential that this coin has in the greater context of adult entertainment and cryptocurrencies, and how we can make this coin more than just a payment method! With Titcoin, I want to reach out of the existing cryptocurrency sphere and attract users who have not been involved or interested in cryptocurrencies before (i.e. the large majority of world population).

This new approach that I am proposing here is an extension of the original mission of Titcoin, from being a payment method for the adult industry towards being a payment method for any kind of porn or erotic content, most notably user-generated content (also known as amateur porn). User generated content fits to the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies much better and makes it possible to use the unique strengths of this coin, by being a way to exchange value between users in a P2P fashion.

I hope that you all like the ideas I am proposing here and I hope that together, we will be able to truly revolutionize the world of adult entertainment using the power of blockchain! And at the same time, bring cryptocurrency usage closer to the mainstream. In the following days, I am planning to further optimize the site for social media (i.e. fixing preview images etc.). We also have the first offer of a couple who wants to sell a Titcoin-themed boob picture! They are aiming to make this the first real "Titcoin transaction", i.e. exchanging Titcoin for "porn", in the history of this coin. The requested price is 200,000 TIT. This price was found to be an appropriate equivalent of the fabulous "Bitcoin pizza" which was sold for 10,000 BTC or so.  

The market price of Titcoin is extremely low at the moment, leading to a market capitalization of only $22,000 USD which is obviously undervalued. But due to this, the sellers of that image have a point of course. Can't be mad at them for trying to take the chance.   And in fact it would be a pretty meaningful milestone.

I'm just maintaining Titcoin because nobody else is doing it. Right now the community activity is low but there is still a lot of potential and some people are still interested in the project (most of them in our Discord)! That alone is a valid reason to maintain a cryptocurrency.

I'm not wrecking anything, nobody forced you TittieCoin guys to change your ticker to that of an existing project. Now there is some confusion but that is caused by you, not by the supporters of Titcoin! This coin did not change much during the past years, there is an updated wallet and a new website (which is not based on Wordpress btw.) created by me, some old social media accounts have been sold to TittieCoin, but other than that, everything is still the same. And if we gain traction again, everything will be fine. I'm still confident that this will happen, which is the entire reason why I am doing this.

Hi Pavel1979, yes we're still working on it. We have one awesome community member in Discord (dogecointomars) who is getting in contact with many girls who might be interested in joining the Titcoin project or producing marketing material (which is basically Titcoin porn, lol).    Also I just fixed one inaccuracy on the website yesterday for example.

The block explorer will be renewed, I'm paying all of this from my own pocket as well as possible salaries for content creators and am intending to continue with this as long as there is at least one person who is still interested in Titcoin.    Thanks for the reminder.  

I have asked Coinmarketcap to add all of our markets (Novaexchange, TheCoin.pw) to their site multiple times, but apparently they only consider adding new markets if they have a constant volume of at least $1000 daily which is far off for Titcoin obviously.    In my opinion, Nova is a much better exchange than Yobit, but unless Coinmarketcap considers adding it there is nothing I can do here. Please refer to our homepage for an up-to-date list of Titcoin markets (https://titcoin.website/trading.html) as this is the only place we have full control of. Unfortunately due to their policy, the data on Coinmarketcap can no longer be relied on, especially for smaller coins like this one.

Yeah unfortunately this has caused a lot of confusion. The press release was created by TittieCoin while they tried to take over Titcoin. Probably in order to increase their market dominance in the space of adult coins, idk. Basically they tried to take over Titcoin while at the same time abandoning it and telling everybody to swap. Of course not every TIT holder agreed to this so that's why I stepped in to continue maintaining Titcoin.

What remains from this are a bunch of misleading press releases and some hostile forum posts that are still around.

You and I have know of each other for sometime now, and this might be the indicator that CWI and yourself work together to some extent, at least to protect some of the components of what you are building. I understand the issues involved, especially when one business forces their hand stealing a ticker or another opensource project (case in point our granite (GRN) 5year old project with the newer GreenCoin (GRN) project that the dev refuses to change). So to that extent, I can extend some protection for more 'permanent' base for the domains if you are wanting to place them under ChainWorks Industries domains.

Lets chat further if you can see any thing that could be of use to you and your projects.

I guess you are talking about the TittieCoin developers ... No, nobody can take over this thread except for the Bitcointalk administrator. One of the good things of Bitcointalk is that it is relatively neutral about altcoin affairs. Generally coins can even have multiple "ANN" threads made by different people, so even if it would be the same coin it would work.

Sure! Integrations with popular sites would be nice. Unfortunately I think as long as we have low trading volume and only a few active members they will not consider adding a micro-cap coin like Titcoin to their payment methods. And they shouldn't because at the current mining difficulty we can not offer the necessary security for such use cases.

My plan is to build a community from the ground, where people tip each other and try to grow the community together, by inviting more people from the amateur porn scene (esp. girls) to join us and start accepting donations with Titcoin. That way we can make steady progress. Pornhub integration will probably not be on the screen until we have at least 10,000 active members or so.    Girls in the "Pornhub Community" can also start accepting Titcoin by putting their address in the comments so we can have a smooth and incremental transition.

What is vital for this to work is that users who would like to see Titcoin become accepted more widely help reaching out to new people from the Pornhub or Reddit community and explain to them what advantages Titcoin could have for them (e.g. receiving more donations), and how they can get started accepting TIT.    The adoption barrier is the most important problem that we have to overcome.

I think this is very unfortunate because I enjoyed using this site, however privacy is more important to me and creating alternative Discord accounts only delays the problem at the cost of wasting time. Also as a matter of principle I would not like to force other people to give up their privacy by running our main chat on a platform that treats its users this way.

Instead of sitting in an echo chamber of pointless speculation, the largest part of our community consists of actual users who never had anything to do with cryptocurrencies before. Reddit has never been an area I have used much at all, but will see how this all goes on our end. Discord is governed by the same regulations that Govern almost all other entities in this space, so it has to do what it has to do I suppose. I don't mind sending my number at all, especially because here in Australia, you can just buy a 2AUD SIM and register the number attached to the SIM itself. Sepnding 60AUD a year to keep it alive is not much of a bother either, so if you would like us at CWI to help, it would be our pleasure mate.

As for educating the people, whether amateur or professional alike, we are open to help in various ways as well. Reddit, Discord or otherwise, ALL areas of society need to grasp the Crypto functionality, and we are always happy to help in that area.

We also have TIT on our Development Mine for testing, but have not opened that to the public. Maybe we should to see if TIT mining is workable. If so, we can move that from Dev Mine to the full production Chrysolite Mine in a very short space of time. We need SHA256 miners to test the coin functionality on the Dev Mine for the time being, so we are open to chat to those that want to test this with us.

Thanks for the offer, but right now I think I will simply stay away from Discord. From a market perspective it is much better to move to platforms that are more privacy-friendly than working around the limitations of traditional platforms.

Awesome! We could definitely use more manpower and brainpower on Reddit and on social media. Current challenges are:

• Encouraging all people in our subreddit to start using the wallet and receive some free coins. For most, cryptocurrencies are an alien concept that just sounds weird and complicated, so being able to express the advantages of what we are doing in very simple terms is a much needed skill.
• Giving technical support for crypto newcomers who are trying out the wallet.
• Inviting more people from the amateur porn scene to join our movement.
• Working on the vision of Titcoin in such a way that it is coherent and easy to understand.
• Raising awareness in the crypto scene on different platforms, as well as getting some media coverage in general. This could include being active on crypto subreddits as well as starting a new Twitter account for example.

In addition to that, having a mobile wallet would be nice so finding someone who is willing to create a mobile wallet for Titcoin would help a lot.

The reason is that the previous domain titcoin.website is owned by a former community member who left the project. Recently, the DNS record was changed to a different server than the Github Pages server that was used before. This does not come completely unexpected, now we will finally migrate to a new domain that will hopefully be owned by a more dedicated community member. 

Feel free to setup domain forwardings to https://titcoin.github.io/ !    If one of those forwardings at some point becomes the established domain within the community, I can setup Github Pages to issue SSL certificates for it so it becomes "seamless".

Most cryptocurrencies today are either utility tokens (to represent some kind of limited resource, for example shares of a company or a gigabyte of storage), for example Ethereum, or are trying to become a replacement for money, for example Bitcoin or Monero. For replacing money, you need wide acceptance so there can only be very few of those (max 5 or so). Most cryptocurrencies will simply disappear due to a lack of acceptance.

But I think that the potential of cryptocurrencies goes beyond that. The blockchain encodes a consensus about the distribution of tokens. Those tokens don't need to have a certain monetary value. They can be used as an internal currency within a community. So what I am trying is giving coins to members of a certain community, in this case the self-made amateur pornography community, educate them about cryptocurrency usage, give them free coins and see what they will do with it!  

So far it works well, many girls have installed the Titcoin wallet, which is the first and only cryptocurrency wallet they have ever used. Some are posting regularly in order to get more coins. This is a totally different approach to cryptocurrency adoption. I'm leaving open WHAT they will do with it, I'm only creating the framework necessary so that they can start using it, while at the same time keeping the supply limited (only girls who post nudes can get coins).

So the interesting question is, will some market emerge out of this? For example, a market for trading nudes? Will some company appear that is interested in girls who are creating pornography? Maybe a sex toy manufacturer, maybe a webcam site? Then markets for Titcoin will appear. I strongly believe in the mechanisms of a free market and in the rules of demand and supply, so if there is any market for this then it will emerge automatically at some point. And those markets will determine the price of the coin, not the other way round.That's my perspective for this coin and for the future of cryptocurrencies in general.

Yes I can imagine it looks a little confusing from the outside. The fact is that Titcoin was never really affiliated with TittieCoin. The TTC developers bought the Github and Twitter accounts of Titcoin about 1.5 years ago and claimed that it's their coin now, but that's basically it. They never released any updates. The only other thing they did was offering a swap to their newly premined TTC v2 chain back then. So I simply created a new Titcoin wallet in a new repository that is used by most Titcoin users nowadays. (https://github.com/titcoin/titcoin)

The lesson of this is that a cryptocurrency can never be "owned" by anyone, which I understand can be a confusing concept to wrap one's head around. The developer of a wallet can decide what the wallet does, but users are free to choose among existing wallets as long as they are compatible with the existing blockchain. Or even make their own wallet. So the actual consensus depends on what most users of the blockchain agree on.

Ok thanks! I'm not really using Discord any more because it is discriminating Tor users, but for exchanging email addresses it might work.

Yes there is only one other thing one can do to keep projects alive, which in fact has nothing to with blockchains at all ... it is called persistence. Most projects will disappear due to a general lack of profitability, which is why most of them initially started. Only if we are persistent at what we are doing and keep doing it anyway, whether it's profitable or not, we can ensure that the cryptocurrency keeps being active. (Which, btw., is exactly what I am doing here with Titcoin)

Interestingly not only cryptocurrencies are affected by this, but also maintaining coin listings is getting increasingly unprofitable for cryptocurrency exchanges, which is why many of them go bankrupt. There are still quite a few challenges for the cryptocurrency community to overcome before mainstream adoption can take place.

I have still been in contact occasionally with Ed Mansfield, the original founder of Titcoin. He very much supports what we are doing here but he doesn't have any time to get involved personally. Some time ago, the original Titcoin team handed over the entire project to the adult software development company JoyToilet (because Titcoin was unprofitable, hah!) and gave them access to all the accounts (Github, Twitter ... see the ANN for more details). Then JoyToilet also went bankrupt last year and sold all the accounts to TittieCoin. So unfortunately the original team does not have access to the accounts any more.  

It doesn't really matter though because we can just make new accounts. The Titcoin community that is being active on Reddit nowadays has nothing to do with the Titcoin community from the old days any more.

Definitely a valid point, you are not the first one suggesting to move to a different algorithm. My view on this is that anyone who is mining can also mine a different coin which is more profitable, and trade the returns for SHA256 hashes on a mining rental site like Nicehash. So the algorithm ultimately doesn't matter! The network hash rate as such does not matter because it depends on the algorithm, the only thing matters is the amount of MONEY being spent on mining (regardless of whether it is in the form of electricity expenses at home, or rented hashes). That is analogous to how the price per unit of a coin does not matter because it depends on the supply, the only thing that is relevant is the total market capitalization.

So with the parameters of algorithm and network hashes being summarized as "mining costs", the remaining relevant parameters are:

• Number of people mining (so that not a single person has >50% of the power)
• Continuity of mining power, as opposed to jumping on and off the network (this balances itself out as the number of miners grows).

Expenses for buying mining equipment are one-time payments and therefore don't appear in this calculation, but then again, instead of buying mining equipment one can also simply rent very cheap hashes on various sites nowadays. In that sense, using SHA256 is actually beneficial because it is the most widespread algorithm due to Bitcoin.

In my view, mining is simply a different form of investing - you spend money/electricity and you get back coins - so for real profits you have to carefully select altcoins to invest in, whose value might rise in the future.
