Passphrase and mnemonic phrase are not the same thing.

Mnemonic phrase is necessary to use the passphrase. Passphrase is like and additional word to your mnemonic phrase, which encrypts your wallet.

Did you try to restore using https://iancoleman.io/bip39/?

Go there and insert your mnemonic phrase and passphrase. Look for your public address and your private key there. You can try to restore it in a better wallet, such as Electrum or coinomi

If you want to restore it using this site, I would recommend that much better if you do it offline by downloading the whole site from its repo.

And AFAIK you can export your private keys there so it might be an option for your funds' recovery only if you bother saving the private keys than your seed.

How did you come to choose exodus as your desktop wallet?
It is known to be buggy and vulnerable to multiple attacks which could result in a complete loss of all of your funds.

Do you have any kind of backup of your seed (e.g. 12/18/24 word mnemonic, xprv.. key, etc.. ) ?

This is one of my biggest complaints about Exodus... you can't get access to the "backup" feature until you send coins to your wallet... which means you can't test the backup works until you've sent coins to your wallet... which means if the backup doesn't work properly, you can't get your coins! Undecided

Having said that, as long as you have a "seed mnemonic" (aka, the 12/18/24 words) and any applicable "passphrase", you should be able to recover your wallet.

The problem when trying to restore using that wallet is that you can not verify the validity of each word, you can not know that you entered the correct one only after completing the entire words"12-words".

open Exodus ----> click Restore ---> Enter your 12-words.

After you finish you can import your private key "ctrl+shift+D ----> Developer ---> Assets ---> Bitcoin ---> export private keys " and import it into any wallet "Electrum."

How exactly did you restore the wallet?
Try your Password and Phrase this way:

1. I assume you are still using the same computer with the Exodus wallet that you first installed. If I'm right, afaik, you can skip entering the password there by clicking restore (while if you have a newly installed Exodus, it's restore from back up), so what you really need is your 12 Word Phrase. Please check the sequence carefully in your printed version, type it in small letters, and make sure the spellings are correct.

2. Another option is via email link. Don't you remember if you have an Exodus backup link in your email? If you have, you just need to click it to open your exodus wallet and enter your password.

If you're really sure with your phrase and password, I think any of that method should work. If still not, then you need to contact the support for further assistance.

The OP should contact Exodus support[at]exodus.io If there is a problem with the wallet they will help sort it out and find out why your 12 words are not working.

Contacting exodus won't help, unfortunately.

They have no control over the funds or seeds entered. All they can do is to give some ideas on what might have gone wrong. But i doubt they will do better than this forum here.

The best way to not get into this situation is not not use exodus at all. It is a poor concept with quite a lot security vulnerabilities.

Hey Bob123,

Have you ever contacted Exodus support for anything relating to an Exodus wallet? I'm not sure why you are suggesting that using this forum for support is better than using the official Exodus support, no matter how you feel about the wallet, the user with the issue should try any available options to help with recovery, and Exodus has an interest in solving this for their customer.

Perhaps the wallet was overwritten before the deposit was made. There are ways to recover an overwritten wallet, but you would not know that unless support was contacted.

cryptocoinz2 please email support and I'm sure they will do everything they can to help recover your wallet.

The thing is.. the support can't do anything in this case.
They have no control and/or overview over OP's wallet / case.

The bad design of exodus itself has probably lead to this situation. There are multiple reasons to advise NOT to use this wallet.

While OP might of course (and probably should) try contacting the support, it most probably won't lead to any success..
