Because it incentivizes spam and people trying to fish for referrals all the time (besides people making biased recommendations/articles on X exchange/website because they will earn more if they catch some users). The minimum someone could do is put a non-referral link right next to it so the users can decide if they want to support the author of the article/post or not.

In my own view, OP put his referral in his article which is outside bitcointalk so I guess it's now on the part of the viewers if they will used his link. For an internet guy, it should be an obvious thing to know that the link there was referral. And almost all article are somehow like that.

Anyways OP, since your referral link was on article, maybe you can put a note at your post here stating about the ref link. This forum is really strict about referral links although you didn't post it directly here, it was linked however. No harm following in the first place.

Your guide is a good reference for newbies out there. Keep it up.
