Cheetahcoin Block Reward Halfened at 3.15 million Height

Cheetahcoin mining reward halfened today 7/13/2024 at block height 3.15 million height.
At block height 3149999, the mining reward was still 2500 CHTA per block.

At block height 3150000, the block reward cut in half to 1250 CHTA per block:

The block halfening event was coded in Cheetahcoin core, block reward cut in half in every 1.05 million height. This is 3rd time in Cheetahcoin history to have halfening event!

Feasibility of Restoring Android Mobile Mining on v2.4.0


Nengcoin v2.4.0 release has been out for several months now with great success on android phone mining.  Cheetahcoin v2.4.0 to be released will follow similar feature to restore and allow android phone mining to attract thousands of phone full node miners. The way  v2.4.0 was able to restore an important feature that was broken for a while for technical aspects as below:

(1) deep chain re-organization protection with auto rolling checkpoint (96 blocks for NENG, 48 blocks proposed for CHTA).  This feature is important to protect against 51% attack.  The cheetah difficulty that android phone will mine tend to have extremely low difficulty. Therefore, a block finality feature will ensure safety net on PoW chain security. This  work has been coded and tested to be working fine in  CHTA dev branch.


(2) timestamp attack issue has been resolved. So far, +- 30 seconds allowances on time stamping by miners has been working fine on Cheetahcoin or Nengcoin. This was the main problem years ago (2 hours allowance by bitcoin original design) that broke android phone mining.  For now, this issue is largely mitigated, which open doors to restore android phone mining.

(3) drop cheetah difficulty by 20 times, which now enables any regular android phone to use Userland app (or Ubuntu Touch type of linux phone) on unrooted or rooted phones to mine a few blocks per week now.  The code will be a bit more complicated on Cheetahcoin v2.4.0 as Satoshi Nakamoto originally coded on bitcoin difficulty = 1 as minimum.  The current v2.3.0 minimum difficulty of 1 on sha256 needs to drop to 0.05 to enable phone mining on Cheetahcoin.  The initial R&D work now shows that it is possible to make it work, mainly by changing some functions on CHTA "pow.cpp" source codes

Here we announce that the new coming cheetahcoin core software release will be on v2.4.0 version with full version tag in wallet “"v2.4.0.0-randomSpike-P13x".
This new release is major upgrade release that will be expected to have hard fork. The main features of this new release is to significantly enhance cheetahcoin
network security to protect against 51% attack (double spending) with new codes of auto-finalizing block once they reached a certain depth (current proposal is
every 48 blocks) and new hardfork to restore mobile android phone mining to allow thousands of average Joe individual miners to run a full node in unrooted or
rooted android phone to obtain reward on weekly basis.

Note: the upper case ‘P’ in version refer to block deep reorganization Protection feature or auto rolling checkpoint feature.


New feature summary:

(1) Hard fork at block height TBD, cheetah difficulty drop by 400 fold from 1 to 0.0025 and spike difficulty rise 2 times to 20G. Cheetah difficulty blocks are mined when no regular blocks are found after 4 minutes of mining. This sharp drop of cheetah difficulty allows full node solo home miners on android phones, or tiny hashrate USB ASIC devices with enhanced profitability.
(2) Enable auto-finalizing block on and after 48 blocks.
(3) No change on reset difficulty = 1 after hard fork.

Cheetahcoin v2.4.0 Released - Hard Fork on Height 3548577


This is Cheetahcoin core hard fork release on version v2.4.0 for all users and miners with full version tag "v2.4.0.0-randomSpike-P13x".  This is major release with hard fork so that all miners/users are required to upgrade to new version wallet. The extra character P in full version stand for new feature of automatic rolling 48 blocks deep re-organization Protection implemented in this release. The hard fork event is projected to happen in 1 and half month or in late November, 2024.

This new version v2.4.0 will fork on first cheetah block after block height 3548577 for sure. The new release also includes rolling 48 blocks checkpoint feature to protect against 51% attack.  Any hidden mined chains that require more than 48 blocks of block re-organization will be rejected and orphaned by full nodes even if the attacking hidden chain has more work than the public chain.   This new release also includes difficulty algorithm upgrade to allow android phone or small hash rate USB ASIC device solo miners to obtain meaningful profitability after hard fork.

Congratulations on successful v2.4.0 hard fork on block height 3552481 with cheetah difficulty = 0.0025.  This low difficulty ensures hybrid mining for android phone or CPU miners together with sha256 USB ASIC miners!  v2.40 also has auto rolling checkpoint on every 48 blocks!
