You Can Now Keep Your Bitcoins In A Bank

Sounds like you give the bank your money and you get back a IOU not that there really storing you money good way to get ripped off like always.
Here is my money give it back to me whenever I ask for it if you still have it thanks!!

There needs to be a better solution to storing large sums of money so trusting the bank is not a good looking option. its a terrible option but people still see it as there best bet.

Why will I even ever have to trust an institution that has been reaping me off right from the onset? It seems the banks are just the next biggest scammers on the lose right now and they still want to find a way to be in the center of it all, for the gullible ones to end up seeing it as a means for holding their cryptocurrency when you simply can just be your own bank and that is the freedom that this space brings.

I wonder why anyone would see freedom and decide to say, No, all they want is slavery. This as far as I am concerned, is not necessary and the banks should come out with better ideas to be a part of the space and not in this way.

Really excited to heard that  your bank country has announce that accepting bitcoin, but the problem is in my country, it was really hard for the country bank in here accepting bitcoin, I don't know why, maybe they just think that cryptocurrencies just usable for the crime which is not true. I really hope that my country will follow the rules as your country did.

Amazing news i so happy that bitcoin is growing now and i hope more people will be aware about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Let the people store there bitcoin on banks but i won't do that.

Bank + Bitcoin = Centralization
Who needs a bank to hold his/her bitcoin, anyway?
Once you give a bank your bitcoin you no longer have control over it.
This is a fools idea, I don't like it and I don't support it. The bitcoin was meant to be free from banks.
With bitcoin, you should be your own bank. You don't need a bank anymore, to hold your bitcoins for what, security?
Once you handle your bitcoins to a bank you no longer have privacy and control over your asset, and why would you even do that, huh?

Everything has its limits: Citibank is really on the path of risk. The government is likely to intervene soon because Bitcoin is being exploited by the evil forces. If Citibank supports transactions, it means supporting bad guys and bad things.

maybe that could happen if the country had formalized the cryptocurrency as a valid currency and could be used like a fiat currency and maybe it could happen we can't guess for sure

There has actually been many banks in different parts of the world that have embraced cryptocurrencies for quite some time now. From where I come from, the exchange site is actually connected to a certain bank, and that is where you would withdraw any exchanged amount from cryptocurrency transactions. However, the limitation there is that the trading site is not open or active with trading small-time coins per se; most of the transactions that is allowed are those from popular coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum to name a few. However, it's still a good news that many banks are starting to accept cryptocurrencies.

This is really good news I've read. Citibank is a giant investment bank in America that will accept cryptocurrency investments such as bitcoin. Hopefully, other investment banks will also follow this step because the benefits of using decentralized payment systems as an alternative to local networks in developing countries have limited benefits of speed and cost compared to existing limited infrastructure.

Not for me thanks, im quite confident I can store my own coins in my own wallets.
Im not sure I like the idea of having banks 'control' my crypto. The idea behond it all

This would be great for most crypto enthusiasts especially those in the US. I believe more of such news would come to public notice when the  bitcoin ETF is fully accepted. Brokers and insurers can then venture into the world of cryptocurrency so people can easily save their hard earned money in the form of bitcoin in various banks around the world.

Honestly, I was even surprised reading through the thread and then seeing a lot of people saying it is a good and welcome development, and that makes me wonder if people even understand at all the main value this space brings. Banks just want the same control over again, so giving them the control of your funds, is just more like saying you do not want to be free.

You have the chance to control the way you spend, how you store your money, have your own private keys which gives you full control, and someone will saying keeping their bitcoins in a bank is the best option for them. Shows how limited some people's knowledge are.

This news is good news. For encryption. But I still hope to put BTC in my own hands, because I am not willing to believe that the bank can safely help me save.I don't know what you think.

I really do not understand what is good with the news or which part is it that you are not getting at this point? I understand for some people who are so naïve, they feel they cannot handle things all by themselves, or be their own banks, it may be good for them.

There is no doubt there will always be people like that, but really for the most part why a lot of us are here, what happened to the idea of freedom that so many of us have really been looking at over the years, and then discarding that freedom and saying we want to be back to become slaves to the bank over again? It seems to me that if banks and cryptocurrency combine then it is a great news because instead of Competing to each othet they choose to collaborate for better transaction. If it will be implemented just like what you sad bitcoin become popular and people get interested to enter the crypto world. It is a good news and i have never heard this before that we can keep our bitcoin at bank but for this we are uncertain that if the bitcoin value down in the market what we will do and if we want to sell our bitcoin at night will they allow us these are some surprising questions in my mind arises but over all the achievement is good and we have to avail this opportunity for good and prosperous future.

Good news for the average noob, but no way am I trusting over my precious $BTC to any bank or any institution at that. Just hand them over your private keys while you're at it.
